Spaceadhyaan Hyderabad INDIA
Zero Shadow phenomenon occurs on the days where we can miss our shadow for few minutes when the sun is exactly overhead i.e.,at zenith position. This event occurs twice in a year on May 9 and August 3 for Hyderabad when sun traverses from Equator to Tropic of Cancer and vice versa. In Hyderabad, Zero shadow is observed around 12:21 to 12:25 PM for few minutes and Spaceadhyaan has taken this Information forward for the student community and conducted an event by demonstrating these concepts to school students and practically observe zero shadow using an erect object. Students at the end were happy observing their shadow missing for few minutes and got enlightened.

As Hyderabad is located in the intertropical zone, twice a year, the students can observe that at noon, the sun casts no shadow. It is a good opportunity to perform the Eratosthenes experiment with partner schools all over the world
