INTERNATIONAL GENEVA FOR EDUCATION FOR ALL UNICEF supports countries to establish national education quality standards, strengthen school management, address education needs of children with disabilities, support girls’ secondary education, make schools safe from violence and from disasters, and provide education in emergencies.

UNITAR/UN CC:Learn supports countries to address climate change by contributing to strategic, systematic and sustainable knowledge sharing, training, education and public awareness-raising of climate change.

UNIGE has developed innovative higher education programmes offering students worldwide knowledge and skills to tackle global challenges.

The UNECE Strategy for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) helps countries to enshrine sustainability into formal, non-formal and informal education, moving from policy to practice.

Research by UNESCO indicated that globally, 263 million children, adolescents and youth between the ages of 6 and 17 are currently out of school. UNESCO has played key role in framing the Education 2030 Agenda which is encapsulated in SDG4, and has been entrusted with leading its implementation worldwide.

Salt iodization is critical to childhood development and improves children’s IQ enabling them to do better in school & have more opportunities in life. Thanks also to the work of the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) and its partners in 14 high burden countries, an additional 470 million people now have sustainable access to adequately iodized salt.

The UN Industrial Develpement Organization (UNIDO) supports the development of entrepreneurial culture and skills, provides technical and vocational training, and helps enhancing young people’s skills and knowledge for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship.

The UN Development Programme (UNDP) in Lao People’s Democratic Republic works with the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism to support community radio stations that provide educational programming as well as vital information on health and sanitation.

The Eduki Foundation develops and promotes projects that enable youth to acquire the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values necessary to build a sustainable future and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.

Improving access to water supply increases girls’ participation in education and addresses gender inequalities, as demonstrated by a case study in Ghana, where reduction of the time dedicated to water collection increased girls’ school attendance by 8-12%. UN Water

The International Organization for Standardizatin (ISO) develops standards for learning services outside formal education, designed to ensure quality service, improve organizational effectiveness, and reduce business costs.

Digital skills needed! At least 2 million ICT-related jobs estimated worldwide by 2020. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU)’s coding bootcamp training programme supports partners to fast forward education for the modern job market.
