TuksRes hosts Academic Excellence Awards

Top Academic Achiever, First-year Female – Kerstin Peckham (House Khutso) On Thursday 4 November the Department of Residence Affairs and Accomodation hosted their first TuksRes Academic Excellence Awards since 2019.

The award ceremony could not be hosted in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic but saw its return this year celebrating the top achievers in the various UP residences.

James Louw, a House TAU resident, won the top academic achiever award with a GPA of 98%.

The top academic achiever (senior) in the female residences went to Khomotjo Manthata from House Khutso. The best overall academic performance for female residences went to Curelitzia whilst the best performing male res was House Ukuthula. In the mixed residences, OP Village performed best overall academically.
