WELCOME BOOST FOR CLUBS

Community Grants A Win For All

It was a pleasure to join the Coolum Surf Club to celebrate with the recipients of the 2023 Community Benefit Fund grants recently, including Coolum Meals on Wheels, Coolum HeARTS, Coolum Peregian Swim Club and Coolum SES.

A staggering $54,924 was donated by the Club to community groups and schools. A collective thanks to the Coolum Surf Club for their continued dedication to the Sunshine Coast community.

Anzac Day

For over a century Australians have served in conflicts and peacekeeping missions around the world, protecting values of freedom and democracy.

Our national spirit of remembrance has found a home on ANZAC Day which marks that brave and fateful moment in 1915, when 16,000 Australian troops landed at Gallipoli. That spirit was reinforced during the battles of subsequent conflicts such as World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars.

This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the end of Australia’s involvement in the Vietnam

War and the 70th anniversary of the end of the Korean War.

I had the pleasure of attending many Anzac Day services across the electorate, including at Coolum State High School this year. I would like to congratulate school captains, Layla and Jye for their excellent and professional MC’ing.

I would also like to congratulate the organisers and volunteers involved. These events can’t happen without their hard work.

Autumn Road Trip

I will be out and about across the electorate on my Autumn Road Trip during the week of 15 May 2023.

Come on down and chat to me about any local or federal issue.

Full details of times and locations are available on my website – www.tedobrien. com.au.

Saying

ARE YOU READY TO CARE?

At IFYS Foster Care we know every child deserves to be safe, nurtured, cared for and loved.

We also know that adults are crucial in ensuring children are safe from abuse and harm.

At IFYS we hope of a world where every child lives a life that is free of hurt and trauma and they grow up in a caring and nurturing family knowing they are loved.

Sadly, this is just not the reality for many children who have to enter the child protection system through no fault of their own.
