The Antarctica Experience Final - USE THIS ONE
Antarctica is nature at its most exquisite. The symphony of the ice, the trilling of the penguins in the background, the blow of a whale breaking the silence and having no man-made noises around you… It is such a privilege to travel here and experience nature in its purest form. People say Antarctica is on their bucket list. But once they’re there they quickly realise it is more than checking a destination off a list – it becomes a life-changing experience. They become fully immersed and every sense comes alive. People won’t have the words to describe it, nor will their photos do it justice. They’ll just light up whenever someone asks them about it. I think it’s the ice that people don’t expect to be blown away by. Some come for the penguins, others for the whales, but often it’s the mountains of ice and the icebergs of all different shapes and colours that move them most. And the sounds – cracking, popping, exploding. You also can’t imagine all the different shades of blue that you see in the ice. Even with over 150 polar voyages under our belts, we still feel it’s magic. And every voyage is such a special experience, so very different to the one before. Annie Inglis & David ‘Woody’ Wood
The Peregrine promise Final - USE THIS ONE
We don’t believe in travel as a means to tick 10 items off a bucket list in 10 days. Aside from being a superficial way to travel, it’s exhausting! At Peregrine, we take the time to get under the skin of a destination. Of course, we all want to see king penguins on South Georgia, but while we’re there let’s spend time cruising in Zodiacs to see animals swimming below and breathtaking icebergs up close. Seeing the famous landmarks and wildlife is a must, but exploring it with a passionate expert on foot or finding a quiet spot on the ship to enjoy the majesty of the surrounds in solitude, these are moments that will leave a lasting impression.
The Antarctic An Antarctic adventure might be something you’ve always dreamt about. Perhaps you saw a documentary or read a book that ignited your passion. Maybe you just have a great love for polar wildlife. Whatever it was that piqued your interest, once that spark has taken root, it’s impossible to shake. The Antarctic is a feast for the eyes. Each day brings the promise of new wildlife sightings, including Adelie and king penguins, leopard and Weddell seals, humpback whales, orcas and thousands of nesting birds. Few who visit Antarctica come home unchanged.

Polar Experts Final - USE THIS ONE
Peregrine and our partner company, Quark Expeditions, have been working together for the last ten years and between us, have led thousands of polar voyages. We use this wealth of combined experience to plan our journeys. Each itinerary is carefully designed to offer the perfect balance between exploration and relaxation. Your home on the sea
Onboard Experts
We know you want to be as comfortable as possible while onboard. For this reason we have chosen vessels with a maximum number of 199 guests (varies between vessels). Each vessel is equipped with modern conveniences like LED televisions and internet connectivity, along with luxurious touches that make each voyage a true pleasure.
There’s only so much you can read in a guidebook, especially when it comes to such rare and extraordinary locations. We therefore feel it’s essential to have an array of specialists on board every polar journey. We want to ensure everything from the miraculous glacier formations to the awe-inspiring wildlife can be located and explained. With an array of onboard experts at hand, you can be assured that no question will be left unanswered, and no sight left unseen.
The ships boasts onboard chefs to prepare a range of hearty, quality meals. In fact, many of our passengers return home raving about the food. You will certainly never go hungry. While the world outside the ship will undoubtedly mesmerise you, we hope to craft a world inside the vessel that also captures your imagination.
Safety and responsibility Quark prides itself on its exceptional safety standards and eco credentials. From undergoing external safety audits to being part of the AECO & IAATO and choosing carbon neutral vessels, Quark and Peregrine are committed to sustaining this beautiful region and upholding the highest safety standards. peregrineadventures.com // 3

Optional Activities Final - USE THIS ONE
Camping
Kayaking
Make like adventurers of old (except in comfort and with state-of-the-art equipment) and venture onto the ice for a unique night of camping. Enquire whether this option is available on your voyage and book early, as there are only 30 spots available.
Imagine the tranquillity of gliding across glass-like water and around icebergs with nothing to disturb you but the call of seabirds and the sound of your rolling paddles. All equipment is provided and an experienced kayaking guide will be on hand at all times. If you think you’d like to kayak, please book early as spaces are limited. Some kayaking experience is essential.
Cross-country skiing Set off across Antarctica’s icy landscapes on skis for the skiing adventure of lifetime. This is a rewarding yet challenging activity, so the ability to be mobile with a pack for upwards of five hours is required. (Available on select trips journeying on the Ocean Endeavour only.) Mountaineering
Stand-up paddle boarding If you thought paddle boarding was a wonderful experience at home, imagine what it’s like kicking off from an icy ridge, gliding past majestic icebergs and over waters so blue they’re almost hypnotic. (Available on trips journeying on the Ocean Endeavour only.)
Not content with admiring mountains from afar? Then choose to take the rare chance to tackle some of Antarctica’s unnamed mountains on a mountaineering adventure with an expert guide. A good level of fitness and the mental stamina to climb for long periods is required, as adventures can last up to ten hours. (Available on select trips journeying on the Ocean Endeavour only.)

Antarctic Peninsula Majestic mountains, ancient glaciers, ice-laden tundra and the antics of wildlife are just the tip of the Antarctic Peninsula’s iceberg. This is mainland Antarctica’s northernmost point, and it’s incredible. With the Weddell Sea on one side and the Southern Ocean on the other, the Antarctic Peninsula is a haven for roving wildlife, meandering icebergs and ice-sculptured landscapes. Antarctic tundra – rocky soil with lichen, moss and algae species – ice shelves and glaciers dominate the terrain. It is also a very mountainous area, with the area’s highest peak reaching 3,184 metres. The temperatures here are relatively mild in relation to the rest of Antarctica – an average of a balmy 1-2°C in January and down to –20°C in June. While the scenery is like nowhere else on earth, it’s the wildlife that people get particularly excited about. Leopard, Weddell, Southern Elephant and Crabeater seals laze about on rocks, their hulking carcasses the epitome of laidback until they enter the water, that is, and play like uninhibited children. Penguin colonies delight even the most jaded of wildlife spotters, with gentoo, Adelie and chinstrap species all vying for the most hilarious on-land shenanigans. And the amount of birdlife is staggering, with petrels, albatross and terns just the beginning of what’s on show in this twitcher’s paradise. But it’s the whales that stop most people in their tracks. If you’re fortunate enough to be surprised by their silent, hulking appearance and witness their graceful breaching then you’ll be privy to an experience that will remain with you forever.

Day 1: Ushuaia With a population of over 63,000 people, Ushuaia is the southernmost city in the world. Flanked by the jagged glacial peaks of the Montes Martial, Ushuaia’s dramatic surroundings offer a spectacular departure point for an Antarctic cruise. Day 2: Ushuaia – Embarkation Day Set off down the historic Beagle Channel in the late afternoon. This historic channel transects the Tierra del Fuego archipelago in the extreme south of South America. Keep watch on deck for seabirds, seals and dolphins. Day 3: At Sea Enjoy a series of presentations on wildlife, ice and polar history, which will undoubtedly create enormous anticipation for your upcoming adventures. On deck the first sightings of albatross, petrels and maybe whales are likely to add to your sense of excitement. Days 4-5: Falkland Islands One of the memorable landings is in Stanley, a British outpost with a unique, ramshackle charm. Meet a variety of penguin
species including magellanic, gentoo, rockhopper as well as the occasional king penguin. Potential landing sites include: Stanley, West Point Island, Saunder’s Island, Sea Lion Island and Bleaker Island. Days 6-7: At Sea Leaving the Falklands, your journey continues southeast towards the island of South Georgia. Cross the Antarctic Convergence on this leg of your journey and notice a dramatic drop in temperature. Days 8-11: South Georgia While it is highly unlikely you will come across anyone else on South Georgia, this remote outpost has long been a centre for exploratory and commercial expeditions. A significant historic relic is the grave of the great explorer, Sir Ernest Shackleton. South Georgia is often referred to as the Galapagos of the poles and contains an extraordinary variety and quantity of wildlife, including king penguins. Days 12-13: At Sea There is anticipation in the air as you begin the journey towards
Antarctica. The journey is filled with seminars from the onboard team, and also provides a great chance to bond with your fellow shipmates. Days 14-17: South Shetland Islands & Antarctica Your time here may involve hiking up a glacier, visiting a research station or consorting with penguin colonies. While some travellers opt to explore in kayaks, others are content to simply absorb the unique scenery. Days 18-19: Drake Passage The Drake Passage has two distinct personalities. The first is the Drake Shake, where the ride can be bumpy. The second is the Drake Lake, when the surface can be completely calm. We can’t guarantee either, but we do know you’ll have plenty of time to prepare for your return to ‘the real world’. Day 20: Disembark in Ushuaia Arrive back in Ushuaia after breakfast. If you wish to depart today, we recommend booking flights for after 12pm.

Day 1: Ushuaia Arrive in Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world. If arriving early, perhaps visit the museum to learn some local history, or relax and soak up the frontier atmosphere. Epicureans might like to take the opportunity to sample some world-class Argentean steak. Day 2: Embarkation Ushuaia After breakfast, enjoy some free time. The riverfront and snowcapped mountain skyline make for lovely photographic opportunities. In the late afternoon, board the vessel and set sail down the historic Beagle Channel, which was named after the famous ship that carried Charles Darwin. Cruise through the dramatic Avenue of Glaciers while seabirds, dolphins and seals approach the ship. Day 3: At Sea There’s plenty to keep you entertained at sea. Delve into the polar library, chat with new friends over a drink in the bar, watch DVDs in your room or simply hang out on deck admiring the view. You can also hear a series of presentations on preparing for Zodiac cruises and shore landings. Days 4-5: Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas) Explore the East and West islands of the Falkland archipelago with Zodiac excursions and daily landings. There’s a real frontier feel to these rugged islands, especially at Port Stanley. As the largest settlement here, it’s an interesting British outpost where you can wander from the pub to churches and a museum. There are at least four species of penguin here and two endemic bird species – Cobb’s wren and the Falkland’s flightless steamer duck. Your team of lecturers and specialists will teach you more about the local flora and fauna. Days 6-7: At Sea On the way to South Georgia it’s time to cross the invisible biological boundary of Antarctica – the Antarctic Convergence. This meeting of oceans creates an abundance of krill and marine life that attracts humpback whales.
Days 8-11: South Georgia See evidence of the old whaling and sealing days scattered across the island. Visit Sir Ernest Shackleton’s grave at the settlement of Grytviken. See a hundred thousand pairs of king penguins waddling on the beach and thousands of fur and elephant seals. The grasses, mountains and beaches of South Georgia all play an important role in the breeding and survival of different bird and animal species. Days 12-13: At Sea Excitement builds as the promise of Antarctica looms ahead. While you’re at sea, spend a bit of quiet time in the lounge or your cabin, and watch presentations by the Expedition Team, covering everything from the history and geology of Antarctica to identifying different species. Depending on the weather, a landing at the South Orkney Islands may be possible. Days 14-16: South Shetland Islands – Antarctic Peninsula It’s hard to describe the feeling of arriving at the white continent. Many are overcome with feelings of reverence and awe. You’ll be kept busy each day with glacier hikes, excursions to research bases and communing with the seals and penguins. Perhaps you’ll catch sight of the fearless leopard seal, or a curious minke whale while on your Zodiac rides. For a unique experience, why not treat yourself to an optional sea kayaking adventure (please reserve when booking your trip). Fly/cruise voyages For those who aren’t keen on crossing the unpredictable Drake Passage, or would rather start and finish in the south of Chile, we have a number of exciting Antarctic adventures for you. Not everyone welcomes the crossing of the Drake Passage. On a good day, the ship cruises steadily, waves roll gently and what isn’t bolted down will slide slowly out of reach. But on a bad day? Well, let’s just say your washing machine can give you a fair example of what to expect. There’s 620 nautical miles (1150 km) between Ushuaia and the northern reaches of Antarctica, which leaves the Antarctic Circumpolar Current to get up to its mischief unimpeded. Many say crossing the Drake is a right of passage, but for many, the thought of nearly 50 hours in a lurching ship battered by waves gives them the shivers. This is where the next few trips are a godsend for the seasick amongst us. With the option to fly from Punta Arenas over the Drake in both directions, it gives any nervous passengers the chance to enjoy the wonders of Antarctica without the uneasiness of four days of unpredictable seas. On that note, it only takes a few hours to fly from Punta Arenas in Chile’s south to King George Island, so that’s four extra days you have up your sleeve to see either more of Antarctica or any of South America’s other incredible attractions. Starting and ending in Punta Arenas also allows further exploration of Chile’s breathtaking fjords or national parks, such as Torres del Paine. Trekking, hiking, glacier walks and sailing are all highlights in this part of the world, and the perfect way to spend those extra days saved by flying over the Drake.

The Ultimate
Wildlife Safari A wildlife experience that cannot be surpassed! Combine the best of the Galapagos Islands and Antarctica for the ultimate wildlife adventure. We’ve brought together two of our favourite wildlife destinations to create a safari where you can walk among the marine iguanas, watch giant tortoises lumbering along the beach, enjoy the antics of the mischievous Gentoo penguin, and marvel at the spectacle of whales breeching in Antarctic waters. Experience the benefits of small ship cruising in the Galapagos aboard the newly refurbished, 16-capacity Queen Beatriz, featuring all-inclusive meals, an experienced multi-lingual naturalist guide, and a choice of four cabins types. In Antarctica, our spacious ice-strengthened ships offer a number of decks and cabin options to choose from. They also feature presentation lounges where you can enjoy lectures from on board specialists, including ornithologists, glaciologist, marine biologists and historians. Our special combination trips allow time for you to travel between Ecuador’s Galapagos Islands and Ushuaia, Argentina’s southernmost point that also serves as the launchpad for our Antarctic adventures. We’ve built our trips with flexibility in mind, which is why you can choose to depart from the central, eastern and southern Islands of the Galapagos as part of our Ultimate Wildlife Explorer tour. For those with no time constraints, you can join our Grand Wildlife Experience and spend 17 days in the Galapagos and 20 days along the Antarctic Peninsula, Falkland Islands and South Georgia. 36 // peregrineadventures.com

Deposit amount: 20% of the voyage value before discount. For sole occupancy of a cabin the deposit is 1.7 or 2 times the above amount dependent on cabin category. 1) PRICES AND VALIDITY Prices are based on costs and exchange rates applicable when this brochure was printed. Please note that a levy of up to 2.35% may be applied to all purchases made by credit card. 2) YOUR TRIP AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK Peregrine operates trips in regions where standards of accommodation, transport, safety, hygiene, medical facilities and other infrastructure may, at times, not be of the standard that you are used to at home. By booking with us you acknowledge that participation in all Peregrine trips involves inherent risks that may not be present in the case of conventional or less demanding holidays. These risks include, without limitation, the possibility of injury or death, psychological trauma, disease, loss or damage to property, inconvenience and discomfort. The possibility of experiencing all or some of these risks is likely to be higher if participation in a Peregrine trip involves visiting remote or unstable regions, or regions where there is dangerous wildlife. When assessing whether trips will operate Peregrine uses information from its local offices in conjunction with advice from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the British Foreign Office and the US Department of State. It is your responsibility to accustom yourself with the travel advice provided by these government bodies, as well as that of your country of residency, before commencing the trip. By booking with Peregrine you acknowledge your decision to travel on a Peregrine trip is made after due consideration of relevant travel information that may be made available at any time. 3) EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY Except where stated otherwise, Peregrine acts as agent for service providers when making arrangements for your trip. Where Peregrine provides services it will do so with due care and skill. Peregrine is not responsible for the acts and omissions of others, including tour guides, airlines and accommodation providers or for any loss, damage, death, injury or expense (including loss of money paid in advance), which you may incur as a consequence of the acts and omissions of others. You warrant
that you have not relied on any representation made by Peregrine, any travel agent or other Representative, which has not been stated expressly in this brochure.
Between 119 days and departure – 100% of total price. If full payment has not yet been received, the full penalty will still apply and any unpaid balance is due immediately.
Peregrine will not accept responsibility or liability if you contravene any law or regulation of any country or region visited. Any independent arrangements that you make that are not part of the Peregrine trip (including pre- and post accommodation) are entirely at your own risk and Peregrine cannot and does not give you any assurance, representation or warranty in connection with any such arrangements.
Cancellation fees for air tickets issued by or on behalf of Peregrine will apply as determined by Airline Tariff Regulations, and may vary as to the type of ticket issued. Depending on the reason for your cancellation, these charges may be recoverable under any insurance policy you have purchased.
To the fullest extent permitted by law and subject to the exception set out below, Peregrine does not accept liability for any loss, death, injury or damage, however caused (including through negligence), which you may directly or indirectly suffer in connection with or arising from this contract or your participation in a trip, or in respect of a failure or omission on the part of Peregrine to comply with its obligations under this contract, or in respect of any other conduct that Peregrine undertakes in connection with a trip. For these purposes, Peregrine enters into these booking conditions as trustee or agent for its Representatives. To the fullest extent permitted by law and subject to the exception set out below, any condition or warranty, which would otherwise be implied into these booking conditions is excluded. Where legislation implies any condition or warranty, and that legislation prohibits us from excluding or modifying the application of, or our liability under, any such condition or warranty, that condition or warranty will be deemed included but our liability will be limited for a breach of that condition or warranty to one or more of the following: (a) if the breach relates to goods, (i) the replacement of the goods or the supply of equivalent goods, (ii) the repair of such goods, (iii) the payment of the cost of replacing the goods or of acquiring equivalent goods or (iv) the payment of the cost of having the goods repaired; and (b) if the breach relates to services, (i) the supplying of the services again or (ii) the payment of the cost of having the services supplied again. This includes legislation in part of the Trade Practices Act 1974 (Cth), and any state or territory Fair Trading Act (or its equivalent). 4) CANCELLATION BY PEREGRINE Peregrine reserves the right to cancel a departure and will advise you of such cancellations no later than 120 days before the tour departure date.
