Every year, when it comes to Earth, Wind and Fire month, everyone starts looking forward to Christmas. For this guitarist (stage left), Christmas has come early with a whole crop of new songs! Thing is, when we started the Tuesday Club way back in the dim and distant past (aka 2011), the line up was somewhat different (not worse/better... just different). Since then, we’ve shed a member and aren’t going back with another and this has led to a Change In The Sound (some might say ‘A New Direction’... but not One Direction. We couldn’t keep up with the hairstyles). Some have called the new sound an ‘atonal mess’... but then they didn’t have much imagination anyway. We likes it. We does. Anyway, all of these new songs will be played at a gig near you very soon. Check the gig list to find out precisely where. Over and under.

DAMinx It’s not always easy to know who you are talking to at Tuesday Club gig. Looking for the cowbell
ComparetheMinki.com ... Don’t get minxed up! Monday (Monday) Minx is hot. Is too hot British summer, with it hot but no sun policy. Even sit in shade is no good. Have joke with minion who say he is my biggest fan, but he no good for fan, no breeze. Need man like in India, call punkah-wallah. This man would sound like should be in Tuesday Club. Ha ha Punky Wally. Is what Minx call Vanderbraindrain when he being stupid. Like when he crawl on floor and spill beer on self. Which seem most of time. Tuesday (Tuesday) Minion get slap, until realise he saying “go to beach”, not “get to bitch”. Is difficult understand minions accents sometime. But Minx not apologise. Is not for Minx to say sorry. Is minion fault for speak strangely. Builder minion even worse with cockernee geezer accent. When he shout for Perestroika and Kalashnikov in park it sound like he saying ‘queer’ when in fact he say “Come ‘Ere”. I tell him we get him electrocution lessons which he seem get excited about. Have never known anyone get so excite about go back to school. Wednesday (Wednesday) Talk of go back school, most children in street have now gone back school. Is bliss. Children opposite scared of Minx. Ever since I steal big group of mini Croc outside front door they scared. Good. I could not bear them look at me for any minute longer (Croc not kid) and had to despose of ugly disgust shoe. Summer is so bad for disgust shoe, glad is now September and boot time coming soon. And fur coat (yes yes Minx not wear real fur coat, know is not worth with painty throw people) and full uniform. Feel undressed without full uniform with roly poly shirt sleeve. Even on holiday wear uniform bikini, complete with diver knife - as never know when prospective minion get over zealous. Thursday (Thursday) Realise is year that Minx deign to give monthly life story to Club of Tuesday band magazine. No cake or champagne (prefer pint vodka) is forthcoming. Most upset. At least minion (plural) know how treat Minx. Not sure what band make of Minx. All know is, always need more cowbell более колокольчик, in fact now have regimental badge of more cowbell. Think all merchandise of band should have
face of Minx and more cowbell. Know would be most successful merchandise, t-shirt, mug, pencil, minion collar of all bands. More than Aerosmith and Adam Ant and AC/DC, in fact more than all band of begin with A. In fact, more than all band start from A all way to Z. Minx smile when think of this. All world walking around with Minx More Cowbell T-shirt. Is pleased. Is fate. Is future. Band just need submit. Friday (Friday) Have realised that most UK go crazy on Friday evening. A ‘post work pint’ seem to be most fashion. In fact this happen most days in England. And in most towns. Band of Club play at music festival near northern town of Hull where insipid alter ego Minki was little child (if we can ever be call little). Is called Burton Constable. Not sure if this is like something do with police. Perhaps policeman call Bert owns field and is have concert. Saturday (Saturday) Apparently tonight at festival a band play call Big Country. But they from Scottish. Is not Big Country at all, whereas my homeland can fit 69. 75 of UK. This is Big Country. Most impress, no? Builder Minion most impress by this stat. At least think so as muttering ‘would you Adam and Eve it’. Is some strange language he speak. I getting there knowing ‘apples and pairs’ but not much else. I invent ‘more dingly dell’ for translate as more cowbell, but minion and Builder Minion think is hilarious rather than brilliant. They go to bed with no supper. воскресенье (Sunday) Ah Minx forgot say, in August was Supermoon. This must be moon for drummer, as other name for Tittybar Telski is Super. Am most impress. When will be Minxmoon?

Marc Almond - Tasmanian Tiger from his latest album The Dancing Marquis, which according to Cherry Records PR Bumph “compiles together 6 tracks released previously on two strictly limited edition vinyl EPs and adds another two brand new tracks and two exclusive and stunning remixes” To me (AVBD), it sounds just like a missing track from Marc Bolan’s last album ‘Dandy in The Underworld’ ‘The Marquis’ is produced by Tony Visconti the legendary producer of T.Rex and like in their heyday, adds sumptuous string arrangements throughout! http://youtu.be/9GHOHY8CyYQ
came to notice in the UK when radio DJ John Peel played their track “Birthday”. It became an indie hit in Britain, later voted single of the year.

‘A Pox On You’ in Toronto nin 2008. The track comes from the album ‘Contact’ which was the second album by Silver Apples. The cover and inner artwork generated a lawsuit from Pan Am Airlines. The cover features the Silver Apples in a plane cockpit with drug paraphernalia and the inner artwork showed the band amongst plane wreckage playing banjos. The resulting lawsuit by Pan Am against Silver Apples and Kapp Records led to the breakup of the band.A Pox on them anyway, eh?! www.youtube.com/watch?v=COEJQls0WEw The Ramones Commando AVBD and the Beautiful Wolfs fave Ramones track, our belated tribute to the dearly departed Tommy. THIS MONTH’S TOP 4 BANDS/ARTISTS! Well summer is nearly over and I hope you’ve all enjoyed it and maybe been to a festival or two. There have been some great little festivals up and down the country this year. Normal service has resumed with The Live Music Project at Trestle Arts Base and we have some cracking gigs coming up over the next few months, remember it’s the last Saturday of every month! On a very sad note, I would like to pass on my condolences to a fantastic local band called High Treason on the sudden passing of their drummer Mr Gary Scarbrow (left). RIP Gary and hope you’re drumming up there. High Treason have been great supporters of The Live Music Project and played at our launch gig back in April 2013 and have filmed a fantastic video at Trestle called ‘Schools Out’ so please check it out. They are booked to play again on 27th September when we all be raising a glass in tribute to Gary.
www.facebook.com/hightreasonuk?fref=ts www.youtube.com/watch?v=aakBz52afHQ On a happier note I am very pleased to be involved in another fund-raiser for The Crescent in St Albans, our local HIV charity. On Sunday 21st September The Crescent will be opening its doors for a Garden Party/ Open Day with the opportunity to look around their premises and see what fantastic work Iain Murtagh and his team do to help people diagnosed with HIV through support & therapy. This is a self-funded charity with no NHS support

so they rely on the good people of St Albans to support them in what is a very worthwhile service. There will be drinks and tea and lots of cake!! And off course as I’m involved, some brilliant live acoustic music from the likes of Emma McGrath, Neil Stanton and more to be announced! For more details check out their web site here www.thecrescent.org.uk/ Lastly, some of you may already know this but (drumroll) I am soon to be presenting a show on Radio Verulam called ‘The Parsons Knows Local Music’ during which I will be playing only music from local bands & artists, chatting about upcoming gigs in the area and having guests in to play live on the show! I am so very excited about this and feel that it is a great opportunity to get more airplay for our local scene! I have started a facebook and twitter page in preparation so please like & follow!
www.facebook.com/theparsonsknows?ref=hl @RVparsonsknows Radio Verulam is a fantastic local resource with some great shows that are already supporting local music such as West Herts Drivetime with Danny Smith and Monday Music Lab with Alex McKay and RV Out & About with Ellie Ophiera so tune in 92.6FM or you can listen online here

I am sooo loving this husband & wife duo at the
track called ‘Heavy Rain’ which has had a lot of you tube hits and it featured in an independent film called ‘Delicious’ a darkly comic romance, which is apparently a cross between Chocolate & Tie me up Tie me down ( one of my favourite films! ) They were kind enough to send me their EP which I have been playing a lot. I am hoping to get them to play for The Live Music Project in the future.

Local lads with a nice funky vibe! Saw them at The Farmers Boy recently where they went down very well. With a few covers thrown in (2 x 45 minute sets!) and some great originals. They have guested on Alex McKays ‘Monday Music Lab’ on Radio Verulam and have a new EP out so please check them out. moment. Based Bedford way, I first saw them perform at the Alban Street festival in 2013 and have been keeping tabs on them since. Kristine Hughes has stunning vocals and their songwriting is fantastic and bandmate/hubby Joe Hughes co wrote a song called ‘No more I love yous’ which was off course a massive hit for Annie Lennox and listening to Kathryn’s vocals you can see why it suited Annie as well. I am currently obsessed with their latest

It’s no secret that I love these guys! Gorgeous catchy tunes with superb harmonies all delivered with such warmth. They have been gigging a lot lately so I’m guessing I’m not the only one who thinks they’re fabulous! They have just released an EP called ‘Little Bird’ with 5 great tracks. This will most definitely be played on my new radio show!! You can get the EP at gigs or ask me & no doubt at Empire Records as well.. for his local scene! I’ve not seen the band live yet but have seen some live footage and any band that have a song called ‘I wear black for Johnny Cash’ has my vote. A mix of country/punk & attitude! That’s me sold then! & I am very pleased to announce that they are playing ‘The Live Music Project’ on
