SENTOSA GOLF CLUB Hosted Asia’s first worldwide televised sporting event in 2021 since the start of the global pandemic Host venue of the HSBC Women’s World Championship since 2013 Two world-class championship golf courses both hosting high-profile tournaments
WELCOME
A PASSION FOR PERFECTION Like all world-class golf clubs, Sentosa Golf Club has the passion to explore new boundaries for success, and has implemented a series of creative modifications over the last 12 months on The Tanjong to enhance its overall character and continue to elevate it on the world stage. Ahead of this year’s HSBC Women’s World Championship the 6th hole was redesigned, adding 65 metres, whilst a brand-new green was developed to strengthen the strategy and experience of the hole and define a unique and memorable challenge for players of all abilities. A new challenging Sunday pin was added to the 4th green hanging along the daunting creek, guarding the green with the winding creek edge.

The tee complex on the 5th hole has also been modified, to eliminate the possibility of taking a shortcut right into the 6th fairway, therefore elevating the playing strategy of the hole. Lining up all the black and blue tee boxes with large sea coconut trees, this new alignment brings the lake into play and enhances the strength of the playing strategy. A new tee complex has been created, set to be opened on the left of the existing 15th hole in October, with the cart path re-routed accordingly. The old 15th tee will be removed, and the white fountain landscape will be expanded with the creative Palm Tree hammock to tie in with the existing white fountain native grasses; the new alignment enhances the greens axes and will address safety concerns that have developed.
Overall, these new design enhancements are key to making The Tanjong more memorable, driving its personality to join The Serapong as one of Singapore’s and Asia’s most exciting golf courses. Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) and the Club continue to set the benchmark for course conditioning in Singapore and Asia, with a never-ending thirst and pursuit for perfection.

SUSTAINABILITY
WORLD’S BEST ECO-FRIENDLY GOLF FACILITY Climate Change is one of the biggest threats to humanity and the world we currently live in. Without significant change, the world will reach the point of no return and the levels of carbon in the atmosphere will begin to become uncontrollable. The team at Sentosa Golf Club has made significant efforts over the last few years to create a sustainable way of life, with the Club becoming a leader for sustainability in the golf industry. Since the launch of #KeepItGreen, the Club’s first ground-breaking sustainability campaign, in 2018, a number of environmentally-friendly initiatives have been installed on-site to raise awareness for how golf clubs can help play their part to tackle climate change, in addition to reducing their own overall carbon footprint. In 2020, the Club launched a second sustainability campaign, GAME ON, designed to unite the game’s key stakeholders with the wider golfing community to implement new modern processes for the betterment of the environment. Most recently, Sentosa become the world’s first golf club to join the United Nation’s Sports for Climate Action Framework; an initiative aimed at supporting and guiding sports organisation and their communities on a path to achieving the global climate goals set out by world leaders in the Paris Agreement; as well as the first golf club in the world to commit to becoming carbon neutral by 2022 by setting aside contributions from golf rounds to purchase certified carbon offsets.
