Each year, Bowdoin College hosts a particularly unique and spectacular event, their graduation lobster bake. The college has been hosting them for decades and has truly mastered the
Planning for the lobster bake begins in early March. Food sourcing decisions are discussed and high-volume catering equipment and supplies are inventoried. The event requires over one hundred regular, casual, and student staff members who work from early morning until late evening to prepare and transport food, set tables, and service the 2,800 guests. The lobsters are baked over hardwood fires at the nearby “bake pit” and carefully loaded on trailers to be driven down a woods path to the field house. At the
owdoin College Dining Service is known for outstanding food and service. The Princeton Review has ranked Bowdoin in the top 5 college dining facilities nationally for numerous years. Garnish before baking where appropriate and allow to thaw on pans 60 minutes before baking for best results. Rack Oven: Bake at 340° -360° F with vent closed for 45 to 50 minutes or until done. continues to be one of the most efficient and cost effective ways to market your restaurant. Only direct mail gives you the ability to target your best customers or prospects.
Need to get started?
There are free reports showing consumer demographics and carrier route counts specific to a geographic radius around your location. Utilizing these reports will allow you to pinpoint the most desirable neighborhoods closest to your restaurant, and thus your potential for a great customer base. The biggest advantage of direct mail is that it gets seen, everyone with an address goes to their mailbox every day. Unlike other traditional marketing channels - radio, television, and newspaper - direct mail is guaranteed to put your message in the hands of the consumer. Once it’s in their hands, it’s all about creating a compelling message to keep it out of the discard pile. With so much effort going into internet and social media marketing campaigns, the consumer is no longer inundated each day with catalogs, flyers, and other so called "junk" mail. Your to-go menu is now one of a few advertisements, instead of one of many. This recent trend is only boosting the response rates for direct mail campaigns. The cost of direct mail has gone down dramatically in recent years. Short run printing costs have dropped significantly and with the United States Postal Service’s Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM), program you can eliminate all mail preparation costs. Using this program, the cost to mail is only $0.146 per piece. Unlike any other channel or medium, direct mail guarantees to put your message into the hands of every consumer within your selected areas. Once you have it in their hands the success depends greatly on the story (visual and informational). To get the highest return you want to make sure you have a well-designed piece.
