'TIS THE SEASON FOR SPICY CHORIZO SAUSAGE CHRISTMAS ICONS
The winter months are fast approaching and the clocks will soon change to that time of year when the nights are much longer than the days. Customers are trending back to their favorite "comfort foods" for the season. Now is the right time to change up your offerings by adding a twist to the "usual" recipes. Think of using warm spices and flavorful ingredients to boost your overall menu items into sensational sellers! We have just brought several new chorizo sausages into our warehouse. The traditional grind is actually very spicy and flavorful while the southern style has a bit more mellow flavor. The product is raw and must be cooked prior to being used in a recipe. The link should also be baked in a deep pan first as it is quite fatty. It is not recommended to use on a flat top or grill from the raw state.

These new ContigoŽ chorizo products are packed with flavor and can spice up a recipe. I used a basic stuffing for the duck breast pictured here, but added the traditional ground chorizo sausage (#577059) into the recipe. The result was outstanding as the spiciness of the chorizo really added heat value without being offensive‌just lots and lots of flavor to the recipe. Along with the Chorizo-Stuffed Duck Breast (#870965), I made a Cranberry/Orange and Mint Sauce: 2 cups water to 2 cups sugar, 2 bags of fresh cranberries (#61705) and added some chopped mint (#855538) and orange marmalade (#411939) at the end for a fresh citrus flavor burst. Also on the plate, some roasted maple sweet potatoes (#61623). Baking them according to the instructions then added and browned some mini marshmallows (#41978) at the end. Talk about melty, gooey deliciousness!

Finally on the plate, some roasted Brussels sprouts (#524687), kicked up a bit with fresh cranberries (#61705), candied pecans (#908467) and maple syrup. You can also top that with Bleu cheese crumbles (#263725), or do something a bit different and stuff a butternut squash (#389686) with a Brussels sprout filling! Be adventurous, be bold and be creative! Your customers will appreciate your efforts! ď §

Everyone wants to feel special, and creating exclusive perks for loyalty program participants is a great way to make sure your guests feel like VIPs. If you use a mailing list, create a sub-list for your loyalty program members so you can keep track of and communicate with them separately.
