Pineland Farms produces an award-winning line of handcrafted cheese. Their Creamery’s objective is to promote sustainable agriculture while producing small batch artisan cheese completely free of artificial growth hormones and antibiotics.

Pineland adds to this by educating the public about the importance of small-scale farming and authentic food production. Their cheese's unique and handcrafted quality starts with an exceptional key ingredient: the freshest milk possible. The Creamery is just a stone's throw from their barns, where the internationally renowned herd of Pineland Farms' Holstein cows grazes happily on hundreds of acres of rich grasslands. Pineland cheeses and cheese spreads are made right on the farm in New Gloucester, Maine.

Pineland Farms is supported by the Libra Foundation; its goal is to show that philanthropy, business and community can work together to create a community that is viable, environmentally sound and sustainable.

Originally called the Pineland Center, it was founded in 1908 as a home for mentally and physically handicapped children and adults. Over time the need for these large homes diminished and by the 1970’s the campus had begun to fall into disarray. Buildings were falling down and the farmlands were overgrown. By 2000, the October Corporation, the real estate arm of the Libra Foundation, bought the campus and 900 acres.
