ITALY OUR 68TH YEAR | FIRST-CLASS ESCORTED & INDEPENDENT JOURNEYS

OCTOBER 2012 - APRIL 2013

WELCOME TO ITALY! Dear Italy Lover, The brochure you’re holding in your hands is filled with wonderful, time-tested escorted Italy tour itineraries with set departure dates. And besides our classic 14-day Italy North Tour, our ever popular 10-day Vesuvius Tour, or our 10–day South & Sicily, we’ve recently introduced brand new itineraries such as the 10-day Appian Way. But I’ll be the first to admit that not everyone is keen on joining an escorted group tour. Travel is never easier, nor more efficient than with a professionally-operated tour. But for others, stepping out of their hotel into a foreign city, with just a map and a metro token, is exactly what travel is all about! In both cases, Perillo is here to maximize your experience. We add fun and serendipity into your scheduled group tour. We add precision and predictability into your independent adventure. Whether you are a ‘tour person’ or an ‘independent’, this brochure is a great start in your Italy vacation planning. Inside you’ll find 8 great Italy tours and our deluxe MSC Yacht Club cruise to the eastern Mediterranean. On page 6, you can learn about our new department dedicated to groups of 15 or more people. Your school, church, business and family are all great candidates to travel to Italy, and beyond, as a group. And if you’re the group’s leader, there’s a good chance you’ll travel for free! Just call our groups department at 1-855-PT-GROUP to get started. On page 7, you’ll also learn how to create your own trip, with our help, by visiting our website ItalyVacations.com. Don’t like using websites? Just call ItalyVacations.com at 1-800-ITALY-25. We’ll work with you, or your travel agent on your independent vacation right on the phone. Finally, be sure to ask for our one hour, hi-definition DVD on Italy travel. It’s a beautiful preview to the wonderful experience that’s ahead of you! Buon viaggio!

Steve Perillo P.S. A Perillo Italy vacation makes a great gift for the holidays or anytime of the year. Now that’s a gift to remember!

INTRODUCING PERILLO TOURS CUSTOMIZED GROUP TRAVEL Book a tour for your private group of 15 or more guests and travel free! Form your own group of 15 or more people. You can enjoy a completely customized vacation to Italy, Hawaii or throughout Europe! Here are some ideas to help you form your own group:

FAMILY GROUPS What better way to spend quality time than traveling together. Great for reunions or to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and other big events in your family’s life.

WEDDINGS Italy is certainly one of the most romantic countries in the world. That’s what makes it the ideal location for your wedding, honeymoon, renewal of vows or ‘romance vacation’. As a destination-wedding, we can arrange your paperwork, religious or secular ceremony, flowers, photographers and reception. And we’ll arrange for your guests to join you. Simply set up a phone appointment with our groups department to get started.

FAITH-BASED TR AVELERS Can you imagine gazing upon the wonder of Michelangelo’s frescos that cling to the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City? Or, walking in the mystical footsteps of St. Paul? For more than 68 years, Perillo Tours has hosted thousands of believers on carefully crafted itineraries which offer a perfect blend of touring and exploring. In fact, Mario Perillo met his wife in 1950 during a Holy Year pilgrimage to Rome!

EDUCATIONAL, ALUMNI & MUSEUM GROUPS Our Learning Journeys team can create a unique and exclusive experience based upon your specific learning goals. Book a group by December 31, 2012 and be our guest at our continuing educational symposium in Italy in the fall of 2013. 6

“Our dedicated Group Department can create any itinerary to reflect your group’s interests & budget.”

INCENTIVE GROUPS AND CONGRESSES Our programs are a unique collection of events, teambuilding, incentive and educational travel experiences. We offer cruise options to reward and train teams, raising the bar on productivity. Whether it be 20 or 5,000 participants, all services are highly customized based upon the corporation or organization’s needs.

TAKE OVER ONE OF OUR TOUR DEPARTURES Take-over one of the scheduled fully-escorted tours in this brochure! Just get a minimum of 25 family, friends or business associates and that departure date becomes your ‘private’ Perillo Tour. Of course, your group leader will travel free! There’s an additional benefit to this. If you fall short of the 25 guests needed for a private tour, your smaller group can join in with our regular Perillo guests. This will guarantee that you only pay the tour rate shown in this brochure. So if you don’t reach your minimum, we’ll help reach it for you!

Find our complete brochure on Faith Journeys, Learning Journeys and Incentive Travel at PerilloGroups.com, Email: Groups@PerilloTours. com or call our group department at 1-855-PTGroup (855-784-7687). Or See Your Professional Travel Agent! 7

Pompeii

Pompeii - an entire city perfectly preserved as it was on that fateful day almost 2,000 years ago, when ash and lava literally stopped it in its tracks. You’ll see the tragic fossils of people attempting to escape along with their children and dogs. Late this morning, we continue on to Naples. We enjoy a brief panoramic tour of this beautiful city. A few hours later, we enter the gates of Rome and settle into our hotel. BB

DAY 12 - Tuesday Rome Vatican Museum & Sistine Chapel St. Peter’s Basilica Afternoon at Leisure This morning we visit Vatican City, “headquarters” for more than a billion Catholics worldwide. We begin at the Vatican Museum, a treasure trove of sculptures, paintings and tapestries. Our visit culminates in the Sistine Chapel, the room where the pope is elected. We enter in total silence, not wanting to disturb Michelangelo’s famed frescoes, depicting stories from the Bible and the “End of Times.” You’ll be fascinated by which of Michelangelo’s contemporaries he assigned to heaven and which to hell. We’ll also visit St. Peter’s Basilica. We’ll see Michelangelo’s Pieta, sculpted when he was just 24, and Bernini’s seven-story bronze canopy soaring high above the main altar.

The archaeological garden is peppered with attractions: the Greek Theater, the Roman Amphitheater and the “Ear of Dionysus.” But what an ear!
