Perkiomen School and COVID-19 Perkiomen School transitioned to Virtual Perkiomen for the third trimester of the 2019-2020 school year and adopted a hybrid model for the 20202021 school year. Academic content was delivered via both synchronous and asynchronous models. Adjustments were made to provide the best learning experience for students taking part in learning across the world and across multiple time zones. While assessment methods, class schedule, and content delivery were altered to accommodate student participation, the breadth and depth of our courses was maintained at the rigorous levels that have long been associated with Perkiomen. As such, letter grades continue to reflect the quality of work completed by each student. A full year course reflects three equally weighted trimesters, with final letter grades for each course calculated into a student’s GPA. This teaching and assessment model supports the values and principles of Perkiomen School while maintaining academic integrity and addressing student’s educational and social-emotional growth.
