“ Perrelet, inventor of the autom atic watch, perpetuates its know-how through time
Perrelet over the years...
Abraham-Louis Perrelet and his son Louis-Frédéric left their mark on watchmaking with their respective inventions: the automatic winding movement and the splitseconds chronograph. The Perrelet company today carries on this unique knowhow and places the movement at the centre of its priorities. Worthy heir of an invention that today resonates in every automatic watch, it’s from this legitimate heritage that Perrelet derives its dynamism and creativity. The Brand proposes timekeepers steeped in modernity, originality and exclusivity. All Perrelet creations are, without exception, fitted with automatic movements. Perrelet has elected to favour the development of modules on recognised and reliable bases and is concentrating on the decoration of its oscillating weights and movements. Thanks to its ‘manufacture’ competency, the company is able to meet the expectations of the most sophisticated connoisseurs. In the following pages, our “Retrograde Regulator”, “Large Central Moon Phase” and “Double Rotor” bear the symbol of a , the specific sign of our exclusive models.
True to its aesthetic codes, Perrelet maintains its quality of legibility. These various interpretations housed in cases with distinctive fluting, characteristic of the Brand, are perfect and unique. The “Double Rotor” is the real incarnation of the singularity that characterises Perrelet. With its unique conception and Perrelet patent, the Double Rotor is the Brand’s icon. The complexity of its mechanism makes it possible to observe and visualise the automatic winding function on the dial. The synchronisation of the two rotors, lower and upper, provides the opportunity to observe the good functioning of the movement and gives it a more efficient winding facility than that of classic models. Perrelet, a veritable actor in the field of luxury watchmaking, enriches this universe with elegance and refinement. The art of harnessing its watchmaking expertise, emanating from a long tradition and state of the art production, enables Perrelet to offer reliable timekeepers with an international 3-year guarantee.

1781 Louis-Frédéric Perrelet was born in 1781, inheriting his grandfather’s watchmaking genius. As he displayed a liking for mechanics and mathematics, he was educated by his grandfather, before setting up in Paris to study in the Breguet workshops. Thanks to his talents, he quickly showed himself to be an independent watchmaker.
From the 1770s, he concentrated on devising a system, which after an initial impulse, would continue to function indefinitely. In 1777, he completed his revolutionary invention : the automatic self-winding movement. To this day, no one has found a better way of animating mechanical calibres.

Double Rotor
Unique and atypical… The Double Rotor model is fi tted with the famous, exclusive Perrelet P-181 movement, an invention patented by the Brand in 1995. This calibre reveals a rotor on the dial side, firmly anchored and perfectly synchronised with the second one situated under the mechanism. The two rotors perform the winding of the automatic movement. The elegance of the displays ( hour, minute, central seconds and date ) shows off all the qualities and features of this model, unique in its kind, a veritable Brand symbol…

Turbine
Power… Deriving their aesthetical inspiration from the field of aeronautics, our engineers and watch designers have created a new adaptation of the Perrelet patent, the “Double Rotor”. The double rotor, transformed for the occasion into a turbine fitted with 12 blades made of titanium, covers the whole of the dial and slips beneath an interior black bezel. On the under dial, markers
accentuate the optical effect and make the impact of this model all the more sensational. An effect which, on this model only, has been reinforced by the exceptional separation of the two rotors. The turbine is housed in a concave-shaped case. The crown, specially worked and integrated in the case, respects these perfect lines.

Split-Seconds Chrono
The watch is an object of art that evolves with time. In homage to Louis-Frédéric Perrelet for his exceptional splitseconds counter, which he patented in 1828, this split-seconds chronograph (“rattrapante”) collection represents the innovation and openness of the Brand. Apart from the extraordinary
complexity and decoration of the movement, watchmaking enthusiasts will appreciate the elegance of the finish on the glass discs, which have taken the place of traditional hands. The result of a perfect harmony between tradition and modernity.

Regulator Retrogr ade Reading the time like a watchm aker… A watch on which the hours and minutes are indicated separately is called a Regulator. A function, where the hand at the end of its cycle jumps back to its initial position, is called Retrograde. For the first time, Perrelet combines these two functions in an exclusive and magnificent wrist watch, available in 18 ct pink gold or stainless steel.

New moon, crescent moon or full moon, since the earliest nights, the lunar star, serves as the rhythm of our lives and is a source of infinite inspiration and extreme precision, which the exclusive Perrelet calibre reproduces in this collection. Regulated for the next 100 years ( were it capable of running without interruption ), the special mechanism of this particular complication will reveal to you the minutely detailed evolution of this mysterious star.

Jumping Hour
A non-confor mist timepiece… This new model embodies Perrelet’s contemporary vision of top of the range mechanical watchmaking, offering an original timepiece. This watch, manufactured in the “Vallée de Joux”, has the P-191 “jumping hour” automatic calibre, and provides its wearer with a very easy to read display. A large window at 12 o’clock displays the hour, which “jumps” the moment the minute hand reaches sixty. The hand indicating the minutes is off-centre. As a result, the seconds are indicated much more conspicuously.
