The Other Side of the World Rich Mullins

Well the other side of the world is not so far away as I thought that it was. And the distance just dissolves into the love. And the New Jerusalem won’t be as easy to build As I hoped it would be. There’s many bellies to fill and many hearts to free. Got to set them free. But I see a people who’ve learned to walk in faith, With mercy in their hearts And glory on their faces. And I pray it won’t be long Until Your kingdom comes. And I know that the gates of hell Are not prone to prevail. As I thought that they were. They have been destined to fail I see Satan impaled on the sword of the Word. And I see the people who have learned to walk in faith, With mercy in their hearts And glory on their faces.

Rich Mullins’ song (opposite), for me, is a capable summ a r y o f o u r w o r k a m o n g t h e p e r s e c u t e d t h i s p a s t y e a r. The other side of the world has become closer than I used to think as love has dissolved the distance, but still. . . our work among them is not as easy as we hoped. In fact, our work will not go away until the King takes His throne. Until then, we will be well acquainted with grief, but must keep in mind that the gates of Hell will absolutely not prevail. As we go about our work, I am continually struck by these persecuted who have learned to walk in faith, with mercy in their hearts and glory on their faces. They are truly a gift and worthy of our time and treasure. Please enjoy this summary of the work you a n d I CC , i n p a r t n e r s h i p, d i d t h i s p a s t y e a r.

MEET ELIJA Elija became a widow when her husband, Digal, was mar tyred for his faith. Living in a small Indian village known for persecuting Christians, the couple was constantly harassed by radical Hindus. One day Digal was murdered and Elija found his beaten body in their fields. She repor ted his murder to the police, who in turn arrested her for causing trouble. When ICC met Elija, she was still in immense pain

YOUR IMPACT WITH ICC

International Christian Concern’s

Double

YOUR IMPACT Year-End Campaign

Have you ever wished you could give more to the persecuted?

Thanks to a special group of friends, every gift given to the ICC “Double Your Impact” matching gift fund will be matched. ICC relies on year-end giving to both finish strong, and make strategic plans for next year. We are believing God to provide significantly beyond this year’s matching challenge in order to make it possible to capitalize on new opportunities in 2014, bringing relief and hope to our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ.
