Originally a busy commercial por t where ships would dock, Nyhavn, and its signature stucco homes have become the
most photographed destination in the
city. Number 20 was also home to Hans Christian Anderson and where he wrote The Princess and the Pea.

to the iconic designs of Finn Juhl, Arne Jacobson and
Poul Henningsen. Stay a few ex tra minutes and enjoy the cour tyard lined with fresh peach trees. 2. Order a smØrrebrØd open-faced sandwich at local’s spot,
The Corner, in Christianshavn and then walk
the nearby canals to see the city’s brightly colored buildings. 3. Cool down during the summer months at the harbour pools located alongside Copenhagen’s por ts. Our favorite was
Havnebadet Islands Brygge, designed to
replicate a ship’s bow.
4. Do not miss the market and food hall at
Torvehallerne. Grab a bundle of Marguerite Daisies (the
national flower!), your lunch, and spectate the resident skateboarders at the nearby park.
