Cristian Eduardo Proaño Reyes. Cristian Eduardo Proaño Reyes. Students Residence (I 2-1) July, 14 2016.
Knowing about me. Welcome to my new life, learning English. My name is Cristian Proaño Reyes. I’m very grateful with you for reading my English Language Portfolio. It is a collection of works I have done since I started studying English this semester, I have demonstrated my ability as an English language learner at Yachay Tech. My portfolio holds back four essays, a reflection, and a research project that I considered and developed in my level 6 English course. I am very proud of my portfolio, and I am prepare to continue my English academic career. I learned how to write an essay after starting this semester especially the introduction. In previous semesters learning about writing articles was very poor, they were not well-founded. and how little I learned I forgot, but now based on solid work I learned the proper steps to write an essay, I’ve learned a lot this semester, I have written four papers and I am sure I am ready to continue my next intensive writing courses. Classes this semester helped me understanding the benefits of writing correctly. I liked very much all of readings I read to get information for my essays. The readings allowed me to have a great source of information that I made reference when writing my final project, and the previous review that my colleagues made my work was very useful for the final correction. The comments I received I applied because I think my teammates are my public and their comments are helpful to write and understand my articles.
I wrote many drafts this semester to get the final essay, each draft brought to my brain new ideas to do my paper. Classes this semester were enjoyable, since in each class. I wrote a different project, which allowed me to write new ideas into each job, thus preventing boredom working all the time on the same project. Although this research was made via the Internet, at the library or through surveys, it has helped my project to be developed, my focus was clear not only to me also for my readers. I feel that research has broadened my knowledge on new information. Furthermore, these English classes helped me to improve my writing skill. I am sure I will use the skills learned in this semester for the rest of my life, I would be a successful writer, I will always be ready to receive all help you can give me to achieve my dreams to be a great writer. Finally, join this learning team has been very useful, I am not very extrovert in class, but talking through the conversations has allowed me to express more fluently. I am happy and grateful to my teacher for the progress that I have made during this semester. I would like to be a successful student; I have to improve my communication especially with my teachers, also I'm going to read more because reading will help me improve my language and my classes will require more reading in the future. Thank you for reading my portfolio. I have made a great effort in this work, I hope you enjoy reading my papers and agree with me that I have had progressed through training and I am ready to continue my career. Sincerely.

Language: The Most Powerful Instrument in Learning. "The pen is mightier than the sword." Edward Bulwer-Lytton
Language is not only the communication key for humans; it is the soul of human beings. Besides using language is the greatest necessity for people’s life and it is the essence in developing verbal communication. Individuals create the concept of the world by thinking and naming things. Using words help in communicating effectively in different situations. Additionally language is an accumulation of knowledge because humans learned everything from somebody through language, and it is a part of common tools to increase the benefits of support; although humans are not unique with language ability, many animals and plants communicate each other. However, human language is inimitable in being metaphorical communication system that is learned instead of naturally inherited. All symbols have form but the meaning cannot be discovered by physical investigation of their forms.
Verbal communication is a natural communication system that is essential for human beings. Language is the main way in which people pass thinking and conversing with their children. Language is a transmission of knowledge because people learn everything from somebody through language. It is a communication system involving sounds, words, and grammar, used by individuals in a particular place or a type of labor. According to Markel Paged, “We could choose to develop the systems of communication that would allow us to share ideas and cooperate with each other. It means that a great fund of accumulated knowledge and wisdom would become available to anyone more than that which would ever arise from an individual person on their own. Chomsky (1968) a recognized linguistic, challenged the behaviorist theory that language was learned through different situations. He
imagined that humans participate a specific form in order to understand, develop, and use language like no other animal. Animals don't develop the ability to speak like humans. He called this biological language mechanism the Language Acquisition Device (LAD). Ability for language is the same around the world in different cultures and surroundings.
Language is one of the most powerful tools in human communication. Words help to create and maintain friendly contact, people can express their feelings, attitudes, and experiences through words, and they can give information about themselves and the world around them. According to the content of the bible (Genesis. Chart 11. Verse 7). Humans developed the concept about using their language to work; they could build a tower that would take them to heaven. Now God, angered at this attempt to usurp his power, destroyed the tower, and then to ensure that it would never be rebuilt, he gave people different languages.
Furthermore, language is one of the best ways to improve knowledge; taking a moment and thinking make perfect sense, it means to expand the vocabulary: also language is the ability to acquire and use complex systems of communication that is mainly a human capacity. Certainly, “How Language Transformed Humanity”, from Ted Talk video series (2013), makes a brief analysis as to how language has influenced human interaction through time. Furthermore, Mark Pagel, through the Ted talk video shows a review of the history of how humanity has developed language closely related to interaction with individuals of the same species and environment. Until they obtained the world's language as it is known today. At the same time it defines the relation between language and interaction as “Social Learning”, which basically involves the action of learning from the other. In other words, the world developed its language skills based on copying others that in consequence prometed the evolution of language just sharing and comparing ideas. Although limited as a specie humans created
several languages and an advanced greatly in the development of technology. For this reason the video speaker proposes that one world one language is the future of evolution. ( McLeod, 2011).
Language is a uniquely human gift, central to our experience of being human. Language is so fundamental to our experience; a part of being human is that it is so hard to imagine life without it. People are able to exchange knowledge, beliefs, opinions, wishes, threats, commands, thanks, promises, declarations, feelings, and they can express surprise, approval or disapproval. The communication system is an essential language. It is a system of communication based on words and the combination of words in sentences. For these reasons it can be conclude that the language using symbols or gestures is a basic form of human communication, whereby express happiness, sadness, opinions, ideas to be shared make life easier for all human beings.

Inequality, Poverty and Society in the Today's Education. Cristian Eduardo ProaĂąo Reyes. Yachay University of Experimental Technology and Research. L6-001. May 19, 2016
Inequality, Poverty and Society in the Today's Education.
A fundamental factor in the progress of a country is the preparation of their human resources which makes education a more and more important role in society. In fact, education is at priority and the competition is hard if one is not correctly prepared, thus it isn’t easy to face difficulties in the future. The value of education is ingrained in every tradition and culture in our country, it is a matter of great regret that gradually we are losing our values with result that we tend to become the very thing we don’t want, this trend must be checked urgently. Humanism should concentrate on the development of the child's self-concept, if the child feels good about him or herself it is a positive start; learning is not an end in itself; it is the means to progress towards the pinnacle of self-development, in other terms 'Selfactualization'. According to Dubois (1921) “The color line divides us still”. This is an issue that started in the 21st century, and evidence has shown its greatest affect in education. For people of all backgrounds the allocation of opportunity in a society that is becoming ever more dependent on knowledge and education is a source of great anxiety and concern. Education has always been an issue to be dealt with in society as it is complex and tries to reconcile the individual’s interests with the opposition sometimes the social world. According to Marx "the school should be unique, free, universal, and compulsory" (Seron: 2002: 79) and Durkheim says “need as much for (both) homogeneity and social equality as diversity", consequently school is unique, because schools must teach the same to a child living in a city with high economic values, as another child who lives in a neighborhood marginalized on the outskirts of a city. They should teach the same but not in the same way since the children living in the city do not have the level of marginalization that children have in the outer parts of the city. According to Durkheim "every society has the education that corresponds, depending on their political, moral and religious organization" (Seron, 2002: 84).
The concept of equity and social justice is very important because it allows the sustainable development of a country. When we talk about equity we can refer to equal opportunities for people, opportunities for access to services such as education and basic services that have a direct impact on their quality of life. We define equity like equal rights of access to education, employment opportunities, information, public services and cultural activities. The fair access to these services is a fundamental requirement for the eradication of poverty, which is often a generated product of inequality. In conclusion, the educational system is a resource that has the support of other social institutions, from which it helps smaller ones to be developed and come to have customs and thoughts by which it governs society, the goal is to reach a relationship between equals, defending individual differences and recognizing the contributions that the different groups of gender, class, ethnic and cultural conduct. Furthermore education improve the levels of equity/fairness or equal opportunities of a country as this depends on the economic development of the person in adulthood, because this guarantees likewise a society that will have less economic inequalities in the future and that everyone can access it without restriction. Finally I conclude that the aim of educational policy should be to expand people's capabilities, whereby we should use humans’ rights strategically.

The Duality of Life Expressed in a Frida Kahlo’s Paintwork.

The Duality of Life Expressed in a Paintwork of Frida Kahlo. Feelings are expressed by artists through pictures. All types of art have a meaning and it can relate different topics such as world issues or more personal feelings. The Frida Kahlo’s painting is not an exception; it has a deep-thinking meaning. The painting expression is attached how she uses her tools. Even when the meaning could varied from person to person, the explanation can be given what she wanted to say with her painting. Frida mention, "I've done my paintings well... and they have a pain message in them, but I think they'll interest a few people. They're not revolutionary, so why do I keep on believing they're combative?"(2005).We although the painting “The Dream” can be interpreted in different ways; the painter wants to transmit a message: There are always two forces that are in the universe it means duality of life.
Frida Kahlo’s painting, ‘The Dream” is an amazing abstract style art, and it takes many forms, the expressionism is one of them. This painting style is closely related to emotions and feelings of human heart; the emotional human heart overflow is illustrated from a subject’s perspective. The expressionist painting represents the emotional artist state introducing some kind of emotional echo within the viewer. Furthermore, Frida was one of the biggest names in expressionist art painting; Pouring paint onto the canvas was her painting style, she could capture the natural movement of paint and the emotions that she lived at that time.
At first glance, Frida’s painting shows the human life as a short time; the symbols used in the painting presents a plant growing and the plant means when Frida disappeared
in the world and a new life appear so the life is a cycle for her. There are two parts in Frida’s paintwork: the bed means life and the ceiling over the bed signifies the death. Besides, the painting results dramatic because the most important aspect to teach is that nothing is eternal, the colors in the painting are subtle and pale suggesting that the artist did not feel comfortable with the human mortality idea. Furthermore the artist is trying to say that everybody needs to remember human being is fragile: the body ages, the mind weakens and the end of a life is the beginning of another, nevertheless while the life leaves our body people can do all they need or want.
Additionally, after the life come the death and Frida explains it in her painting the best form, she represents the dead by a skeleton, it remembers the mortality of humans. The skeleton is over the canopy of Frida’s bed holding a bunch of flowers and having bombs attached it, the idea of death is something normal and nothing to be afraid. At first it may look confusing but undoubtedly it represents how unpredictable and inescapable is the death. In other words the painting results an explanation of the final human's destiny.
Finally, she represented herself in this perspective way and we must assume that Frida was certainly trying to evoke and express sadness feeling. Perhaps she has painted the reality of her life trying to express several important points in the relationship between life and death and both are intrinsically intertwined. Life is an essential component in the dynamic world but all life eventually dies. The main meaning for her feelings is personal but it can be applied for all. Humans were created from inert materials thus life and death has alternate forever.

THE CENSORSHIP IN SCHOOLS Censorship is a good school solutions, this helps regulate the content, rulers and acceptability in schools, but the censorships must be planned and discuss among all stakeholders to stakeholders to achieve excellent results. For this reason the censorship not be banned in schools. However the censures benefit not like them all, as human beings and especially young people do not like having regulated their actions (petress,2005), so it is almost always necessary to impose rules. We must not forget that the world of one begins where the other ends. Where censures must be created to benefit everyone involved and to live in a respect and harmony environment. Censures in school helps the school activities developed successfully, because authorities, teachers, students and parents know the rules and have to comply to avoid sanctions or reprimands. This benefit diverse groups of students enter a discourse or understanding of differences and problems. For this actions censures should be created by the entire educational community to benefit all of them and all and everyone feel happy and accept the rules with good attitude that develop multifaceted support systems and proactive strategies in the world. However, the censures are positive, many people do not like to accept them in good shape especially children and young people who believe that they think is right and they like doing the forbidden things, but in order to live in harmony is necessary to respect and enforce the rules. Nonetheless to ensure that all comply satisfactorily should discuss and demonstrate the positive aspects of their application.
Humans like the forbidden and always looking to read, see or do what is illicit to them, this happens especially in schools where children and young people like contravening the rules
and avoid meet them. For this reason is necessary talk demonstrating the benefits of censures. The more experienced all practiced self-censorship to some degree and to share conversations that would allow them to increase their understanding of cultural differences and their respect for diversity. In conclusion, the censures may be good for some students, but for the educational community to achieve successes that benefit all members at the school, they must accept in order to avoid claims or demands. In this there to help protect and keep them safe from things that are bad. In this way the entire educational community will live in a positive, harmonious and respect for all members.

Abstract Writing is the necessary skills to improve the learning English abilities. Science and technology have advanced in the 21st century around the world. However, some university students aren’t aware of the importance in writing, that is why the academic field, and specifically, English learning has sought new technological tools that are useful for development of key skills (such as listening, speaking, reading and writing) thus making a more effective method of teaching- learning English and one of the technological tools more used are blogs. For this reason this research project focus the students problems getting in learning writing skill and those to give feedback from all the activities developed during the project will take place, this will serve to complement the students’ knowledge, and measure the level of knowledge achieved throughout the group.

Problems Affecting Learning Writing Skill at University.
A long time ago, writing is a form of human language. It is an important invention in human history. It gives permanent information, ideas, views, feelings, advices, clarifications, concepts and others. It is an important tool to communicate with other people in different ways. Besides to improve the writing ability in English is important emphasize and consider other skills such as reading, listening and speaking. The integration of all skills allows better results in the learning process. Even though writing is an important skill, students at the universities are not concerned this skill. According to Robert Todd Caroll (1990), students weren’t required to study spelling or grammar, writing means inevitable failure. People believe they won’t be able to achieve. Besides, writing skill at university’s students have a lot of problems because in high school students do not practice a lot of writing, for this reason I have chosen this topic, to examine the writing difficulties skill between students at high school. Finally, written has the ability to improve labor relations and help the smooth functioning of an organization. However, a careless or misleading written communication carries great dangers. Write correctly, not only saves us time for us, saves time and effort to our target promoting a more fluid work, causing the best feelings, like professionalism, interest and competition for us, which will encourage a more collaborative relationship.
Literature Review. English writing is a form of communication in an expressive form through a visual symbolic system in a cognitive process. It allows embodying feelings and ideas on a paper, organizing knowledge and beliefs into convincing arguments, and express meaning through well-constructed text. Spelling, vocabulary, grammar, work together and grow together to help improving English writing skills, Furthermore Writing has a social and cultural value (Garcia Alejandro, 2015). What is English writing skill? Writing ability allows people to capture or graph their feelings, knowledge, thoughts on paper. This type of content should be built in order to provide understanding for the reader. Important linguistic components involved in the process of learning writing skills are: grammar, vocabulary and organization. Writing system. “Written Communication involves expressing yourself clearly, using language with precision, constructing a logical argument; note taking, editing and summarizing; and writing reports.”(University of Kent, 2015) “As children learn the steps of writing, and as they build new skills upon old, writing evolves from the first simple sentences to elaborate stories and essays. Spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and organization come together and grow together to help the student demonstrate more advanced writing skills each year“(Aupperlee & Geraghty, 2015). Areas which writing works with? The ability to write is closely linked to other skills, usually before writing a text. Ideas are discussed and heard before writing. The structure and organization of words
and sentences is a process of great importance for the creation of effective communication from the simplest to the most complex texts. Vocabulary. It refers to the variety of words used for communication. They can
be ordinary or specialized depending on the area under discussion. Vocabulary is a major contribution in the formation of the person. The command of a large vocabulary facilitates reading and comprehension and improves academic performance. Grammar: Grammar is the system of a language. It is the set of structural rules
governing the composition of clauses, phrases, and words in any given natural language.
Punctuation. Punctuation marks indicate breaks and final sense. These signs give
expression to our paragraphs. Each sentence contains at least one punctuation mark. The most common is the period (".") which is used to mark the end of a declarative sentence; that is, every sentence containing a statement of fact, explanation or description of an idea.
Capitalization. This refers to the proper use of upper and lower case. In the
written expression it gives sense to the meaning of the expression. It is important to know when and where to locate each.
Spelling. This refers to the act or sequence of letters to build words. English words are not always written as they are pronounced. English spelling does follow some basic rules that distinguish prefixes and suffixes, spelling and plural forms.
Application. The participants of the study.

According to Willie Nelson “Not all English skills abide by this system, but the vast majority do. Just look at the writing of most graduates. It’s proper, polite, and just polished enough not to embarrass anyone. Mission accomplished, as far as our schools are concerned.” By Jeff Goins. The difference between good writers and bad writers has little to do with skill. It has to do with perseverance. Bad writers quit. Good writers keep going. The results of the study showed that language skills did influence their writing performance as stated by all student respondents.
Analysis of results. In the present research project were used descriptive statistics to process and analyze the data results from the pre-test and post-test which were applied to both experimental and control groups take into count the following issues; Content, accuracy, vocabulary range, organization and cohesion, and appropriateness of register and format. What problems do the students learn writing skill? 1. One of the problems that the students have to learn writing skill is lacking vocabulary. It generates many difficulties and affects the learning results. 2. Students don’t concentrate on learning grammar, and they have difficulties studying grammar, also vocabulary and grammar plays an important role to improve writing skill. What are the reasons of these problems? 1. Students have a lacking vocabulary because they do not know a good way to learn vocabulary. It is easy for them to forget new words; another reason is that students spend little time studying vocabulary, they rarely look for dictionary. 2. Students do not have a good way to study grammar; they don’t performance activities outside of classrooms; additionally many students are not conscious the importance of grammar in writing skill. Conclusions. Writing is an essential thing to learn English; the result shows that many students are not aware of the importance of studying and practice writing skill. The results reveal that students made a lot of faults in writing English exercises, especially using prepositions, verb tenses and grammar structures.
The different activities as a technological teaching-learning tool, had improved students writing skills, besides, they had positive progress in five writing sub skills; content, accuracy, vocabulary range, organization and cohesion, and appropriateness of register and format.
