Australian Posters of World War I – Enlistment 2014 1oz Silver Proof Rectangle Coin

The Perth Mint is proud to launch the official Australian Posters of World War I collector series.

Used to invigorate enlistment, the first coin features the ‘A Call from the Dardanelles' poster, which employed the theme of Australians fighting at Gallipoli. The reverse of each 99.9% pure silver coin struck in proof quality, features a coloured representation of the 1914 poster, headed by the inscription AUSTRALIAN ENLISTMENT. The obverse of each Australian legal tender coin depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of His Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the year-date and the monetary denomination.

Only 5,000 of these coins will be presented in a clear latex case, which displays both sides of the coin, enclosed within a themed shipper. An accompanying numbered Certificate authenticates each release.

100 Years of Australian Military Aviation 2014 1oz Silver Proof Coin This year the Royal Australian Air Force will celebrate the centenary of the first flight of an Australian military aircraft, the Bristol Military Biplane.

To mark this milestone in military history, The Perth Mint is proud to present a stunning commemorative coin struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.

The coin's reverse depicts a representation of a Bristol aeroplane propeller with a military Boxkite flying under the propeller blade and an F/A-18 Hornet fighter aircraft soaring above the blade with the inscription 100th ANNIVERSARY OF AUSTRALIAN MILITARY AVIATION. The 1914-2014 year-dates are also included in the design.

Each Australian legal tender release features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on its obverse.

Housed in a classic display case within a themed shipper and accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity, only 5,000 of these coins will be released.

ANZAC Day 2014 $1 Coin in Card This year's annual ANZAC Day commemorative honours the Royal Australian Navy Submarine Service.

The reverse of the $1 aluminium bronze coin portrays an image of the AE2, an E class submarine commissioned into the Royal Australian Navy in 1914, and a group of submariners. The background depicts a silhouetted bugler, the inscription 'Lest We Forget', and the date of ANZAC Day, 窶連pril 25'.

This Australian legal tender coin is presented in a display card, and is issued on a mint-to-order basis.

450 Anniversary of William Shakespeare 2014 5oz Silver Proof Coin

Celebrating the 450th Anniversary of the Birth of William Shakespeare, The Perth Mint is delighted to present this commemorative coin struck from 5oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.

One of the greatest writers in the English language, William Shakespeare, is immortalised on the coin's reverse which features a spiral-line engraved likeness of Shakespeare. The design also includes a representation of the Globe theatre with an actor on stage surrounded by motifs denoting famous scenes from Hamlet, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet and Henry V. The inscriptions 'William Shakespeare' and '450th Anniversary of his Birth' also appear in the design.

Each Tuvalu legal tender coin's obverse portrays the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. To celebrate the anniversary, only 450 of these coins will be released, each housed in a presentation case and suitably themed shipper and accompanied by a numbered Certificate.

With the use of lenticular lenses, the reverse of the 1oz silver coin depicts The Tramp jauntily walking as shown in the closing scenes of the 1928 silent movie, The Circus.
