MISS WATSON’S GARDEN OPENS
WELCOME
Welcome to Angove Street Collective’s first issue.
The Angove Street Collective Members:
Although many of our Perth neighbours will know us by now, we thought it was high time we introduced ourselves properly. “When I started the Angove Street Collective I wanted to do something innovative for our city’s retail scene. I saw not only a gap in the market for home and commercial interiors and design, but also for an offering with an inclusive approach for all – an opportunity for a co-op of businesses for our customers. Angove Street Collective has realised my vision, becoming a place where folks come to browse for gifts, have a chat, be inspired creatively or just pop by for a coffee at our newly opened Miss Watson’s Garden café. We’ve been inspired by the wonderful sense of community in North Perth, and we hope we can return some of the positive energy back to Perth with our complete Angove Street Collective lifestyle destination.” – Greg Baker, owner.
With its edgy new take on urban retail, Angove Street Collective brings together a like-minded group of separate boutique retailers into a single space, creating a one-stop retail concept for shoppers. From coffee tables to cards to impressive line up of gift ideas, the Angove Street Collective cuts of artisanal goods. Get crafty with Perth Upmarket, interiors trend-setter Ambassador Home’s furniture and
from Debra Hayes Floral (founder of Manic Botanic), ELK and Wishful Thinking fashions and accessories, and Gents – items for the discerning male – which all come together in perfect harmony at 31-39 Angove Street, North Perth. Pop in for a browse or a coffee and a little something with the kids or your pup at the newly opened garden café, Miss Watson’s Garden. This lifestyle hub is purpose-built for the people.
WHAT’S HAPPENING AT ASC? With Christmas almost upon us, Angove Street Collective is ramping up the festive cheer — so much so, their events blackboard is already full! Between Thursday late night trading, and the huge Angove Street Festival on October 26th, plus the floral workshops Debra Hayes is running throughout summer and the Perth Upmarket at UWA on 30th November, things are bound to be busy. The front room of the new café and the large communal bench in the garden will play host to community and artisan workshops, and possibly even a garden wedding or two at Miss Watson’s Garden café – simply call us to book your event or workshop, and keep your eye on the website for details and updates.

MISS WATSON’S GARDEN
The café actually began as Angove Street Coffee & Stores, but the garden is such a key feature that Greg decided it deserved its own name — and Miss Watson’s Garden has stuck. Miss Elizabeth Watson was the first Postmistress of North Perth from 1903, when the Post Office was originally located in the very same building.
Miss Watson’s Garden café is now offering the most delicious coffee on the strip by Toby’s Estate. Take your caffeine hit with a run at the daily baked goods by Barrett’s Bakery of Nedlands and Honey What You Want Catering of North Perth. If you’re feeling like a pick me up, it’s also the only cafe in Perth stocking The Pure Glow Cleanse cold pressed juices, made on Angove Street!
