PGA Golf Tips from Jeremy Nicholls at South Staffs Golf Club Academy..... Leg Action in the Golf Swing During the past few weeks i have had quite a few beginners getting into golf and taking lessons. A common fault I have noticed is they will pick the club up and swing their arms and club without taking into account what the actual legs are doing. The legs play an active role in the golf swing, they act as a support mechanism for the golf swing and without using them properly it can lead to a lack of power in the golf swing and the inconsistency in the direction of the ball flight. •At address ensure feet are shoulder width apart, knees slightly flexed, with knees pointing out towards the toes. •During the backswing retain the right knee flex as this will help the arms and club stay on the correct swing plane (path of the club). •The left foot stays planted as you start the downswing, this helps you start the downswing correctly and gives you extra power. •During the downswing do not let your legs drive towards the target, let them stay under your hips as you rotate into the impact and through to the finish.

In the past the Banks and Building Societies have traditionally looked after us but many customers have lost faith and trust in them in recent years. The alternative is to seek out a Financial Adviser, which for many will be a scary prospect. All Financial Advisers are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and are charged with providing you as the client suitable Financial Advice. Financial Advisers don’t gamble with your money or guess what the markets are going to do, they use their knowledge, experience and skills to research the market and recommend the most suitable areas for investment that they can. Over the past few months we have seen uncertainty in the financial markets, a change of Prime Minister, a Brexit Vote and I haven’t even mentioned Jeremy Corbyn or Donald Trump. We can’t predict the future but there is likely to be further market uncertainty, whatever happens both here in the UK and in the wider world. Uncertainty may affect the markets in the short term and potentially in the longer term. The question then follows ‘ what should I do with my pension, savings and investments? ‘ You could put your money in the Bank or Building Society, seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser or put it in a suitcase under the bed. Whatever you choose there are risks involved and advantages and disadvantages. We would never advocate putting your money in a suitcase under the bed as inflation, theft or fire could seriously reduce your wealth. If you are going to invest in these uncertain times it is important to choose wisely and make informed decisions about your investments and your future. A Financial Adviser will complete a full factfind, assess your attitude to risk and choose the most suitable investment products and funds for you given all of your circumstances. There are investment products with a variety of different levels of risk, from low, low to medium, medium, medium to high and high risk. The returns on each will differ and your Financial Adviser can advise you on what’s best for you, your family and your future. If you would like an initial free, no nonsense, no obligation appointment with myself, Frank Cochran, Derek Baillie or Mark Mitchell then please give us a call or drop us an email. Call: 01902 422333 or Email: info@fscinvestments.co.uk We will always try to place your money in the most suitable place, at different times to suit your personal requirements.

A Word From Gavin Williamson............... This summer it was a relief to get back to South Staffordshire after the political unrest of the past couple of months. I recently visited the Codsall branch of the Staffordshire Police Cadets at Codsall and Bilbrook Fire Station. The idea of Staffordshire's Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Ellis, the scheme was created in order to strengthen links between the police and young people and to promote good citizenship. It is open to those between 14 and 17 years old, equipping them with useful skills that they might need for their future. Cadets work towards nationally recognised qualifications in team-building, citizenship and personal skills following a detailed programme that covers every aspect of policing and how they support the police in keeping our communities safe and reassured. After speaking with the Cadets, it was great to hear that they are benefiting academically and socially as well as reconnecting with local policing teams and local communities, giving them a real advantage later on in life. I would like to thank Deputy PCC for Staffordshire Sue Arnold and the Cadets for their wonderful hospitality. It was clear from listening to the Cadets share their experiences that the scheme has had an incredibly positive impact on their lives and I would encourage young people between the ages of 14 and 17 to take part in this brilliant local scheme. I have been very grateful to have been invited to many local volunteer led groups right across South Staffordshire over the summer benefiting so many different parts of society. I cannot thank the selfless volunteers enough who give up their time to teach and support others. On a personal note, it was a huge surprise and an honour that the Prime Minister asked me to join the Cabinet as the Chief Whip. I am looking forward to this new challenge as well as now having a voice for South Staffordshire at the very heart of Government.
