TYPES OF FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE Grants do not have to be repaid and are available for students with exceptional financial need. Grant eligibility is determined by family income, family size, assets and other information submitted on the FASFA ◆ Federal Pell Grant ◆ Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) ◆ Nebraska Opportunity Grant (NOG)

Loan Programs are available to assist students with the cost of their education. Student must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits per term to be eligible for loans. ◆ Subsidized Student Loans ◆ Unsubsidized Student Loans ◆ Parent PLUS loans

Federal Workstudy is a need-based Title IV program that provides part-time employment to help offset expenses throughout the semester. Apply for these opportunities at WWW.PERU.EDU/HR/STUDENT.

Scholarships are based on academic achievement, financial need, leadership and special abilities. ◆ The Office of Admissions awards freshman and transfer scholarships. ◆ The Office of Financial Aid awards need-based and returning student scholarships. ◆ The Returning Student Undergraduate Scholarship Application is available annually in February.

SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS According to federal regulations, all colleges are required to monitor standards of satisfactory academic progress (SAP) for students receiving financial aid. Students who are receiving federal aid, as well as campus-based aid, are required to maintain SAP to continue to be eligible to receive aid. Each student’s academic record will be evaluated prior to the start of each term. Students must meet the cumulative GPA requirement and the cumulative credit completion requirement. 1.

3 STEPS FOR GETTING FINANCIAL AID

Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov ◆ File your FAFSA as soon as possible after October 1 for the next school year. ◆ Peru State’s School code is 002559. ◆ Filing your FAFSA is free. You should never have to pay to have your FAFSA completed or filed.

Verification! If your file is selected, Peru State will contact you. ◆ Verification requires supporting documentation. Students are notified of the requirements and when documents are available via myPSC. ◆ All documents must be submitted to complete your financial aid application.

Look for Award Notifications and when to Accept Awards. ◆ Financial aid packages are posted in myPSC when the application is complete and reviewed. ◆ A notification will be sent to the student when awards are available to accept. ◆ Students must log on to myPSC to accept awards. ◆ Awards will be disbursed to student accounts with the business office after the academic term has started.
