01 REHUB: AN INNOVATIVE PRISON DESIGN Master thesis project
The importance to examine in depth the prison thematic, nowadays, is fundamental for many different reasons: in Italy, penitentiary architecture is the very last aspect of a complex system including administrative, political and cultural factors. The main aim of this work is to propose a new model of prison, able to respond to cultural emergencies and critical points observed in the whole Italian penitentiary system and directly transferred into the pain space. The new model starts from the idea of sociality, intended as the human capacity to establish long-lasting relationships and to build the next future independently, even if in restricted environments. The new penitentiary is situated in the vicinity of Brescia, next to the existing prison of Brescia-Verziano. The project is established to be an extension of the existing structure, with an increase of the number of presences and an improvement of educative and social facilities.

02 URBAN FAIRYTALE
Pinocchio Children’s Library The aim of the entire project is the design of a new library for children, focused on the fairytale’s world, in particular on Pinocchio’s characters. The masterplan, placed in Collodi, focuses on two topics: first to connect village’s attractive areas, second to recovery the river’s shores maintaining each distinctive characteristic. On the east shore the focus is on a urban re-sawing obtained through the insertion of functions devoted to a local public. The kid’s library, even thou located in this area, creates a connection with the auditorium on the west shore; the new construction project follows alignments and dimensions recognizable in the existing village and tries to connect an undervalued area creating a contemporary village. The recovery plan focuses on the paper mill area, preserving the historical façade and retrains existing surfaces to add new usages and functions connected with the square. The west shore is already devoted to foreigners with pinocchio’s park and the Collodi foundation.

03 ROMAN REFLECTIONS
Piranesi Prix De Rome in Villa Adriana The new thermal pavilion is situated in the archeological park of Villa Adriana, in Tivoli. The aim of the project is to propose a space able to integrate history and contemporaneity, through the connection between the old ruins of the Villa and the new construction. The pavilion is characterized by a gradual sequence that brings the visitor from the more public part of the hall and the restaurant to the more private one of the secret garden, passing through the open and close baths. Each space of the intervention is enhanced with a collection of sculptures and old decors from the Villa Adriana archives. The hole project aims at a calculated redevelopment of a specific portion of the archeological park, considering both the uniqueness and the potentiality of Villa Adriana for a future that revokes the glorious past.

The following pages show the results of my work as an amateur photographer. Photography is my most relevant passion that in ten years led me to lot of personal satisfactions. During my architectural studies, I decided to experiment interior photography, collaborating with few offices in Milan to the image restitution of some of their works. more on chiara.peruzzotti@portfoliobox.net
