See to the needs of the patient, such as passing urine, passing motion, getting in and out of bed or onto the wheel chair. Take note of the time for medication. Feed the patient slowly. Bathe the patient gently. Accompany the patient to the doctor. Keep the patient company all the time, talking to him/her with care and patience. If the patient needs to do some exercised, help him/her hands and legs by gently stretching, bending them or even assist him/her to walk about the house or outside. Wash the washcloth after use and hang it up for drying. Do not hang the floor-cloth and table wash-cloth side by side. Use different wash-clothes for different types of cleaning purposes. Wash these wash-clothes very thoroughly every day after use. Do not place food or drink near the sink because you may accidentally splash tap water or even soap water onto the food which can course stomach upset. When boiling water, keep watch and don’t let it dry up. Turn off the fire if you need to do other things in the house.

But it is better to check with your employer if unsure. 4. “Soft” food is best for the daily needs of an elderly or invalid. It is also advisable to blend fruits before feeding them. Avoid giving food that are salty, sweet and spicy. 5. You should be prepared to stay cheerful and full of patience when entertaing the elderly/ invalid; and yourself too. 6. The recommended ways to entertain the elderly or invalid is to bring them to the park, watch over them when they sleep and assist them when the sleep and assist them in case they woke up suddenly at night. 7. When faced with an elderly or invalid who complains that they feel use less and meaningless, you should be careful when trying to bring back his/her confidence by not insulting his/her condition.
