Peter Bird

Born in Muncie, Indiana, and grew up in Indianapolis, son of an advertising and marketing man. Excelled at journalism in high school and went on to major in journalism at Northwestern University. Settled in Tennessee, where my mother lived, and worked at the Jackson Sun newspaper before moving to the big city, Nashville, and working for the Nashville Banner, which shut down in 1998. After a brief stint in banking, started work with the Frist Foundation in 1983, where I now serve as CEO.
