Children are welcome, there is a small crèche area for them to play, or feel free to grab some colouring crayons (adults too) to draw and colour in a butterfly throughout this order of service.

IN CHRIST ALONE, MY HOPE IS FOUND; He is my light, my strength, my song; this cornerstone, this solid ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease! My comforter, my all in all, here in the love of Christ I stand. In Christ alone! – who took on flesh, fulness of God in helpless babe! This gift of love and righteousness, scorned by the ones he came to save: ‘til on that cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied – for ev’ry sin on him was laid; here in the death of Christ I live. And as he stands in victory sin’s curse has lost its grip on me, for I am his and he is mine – bought with the precious blood of Christ. Poem: Your face by Mike Hollow I do not know your face but long to see its form and trace with human eye its features once to human eye displayed and see unveiled the mystery of which mere dim reflection once sent men happily to die. And what will be its line? Harrowed, marred, uncomely, scarred, cruelly etched with pain? Or will it with such glory shine as of the sun that angels shield their gaze and men fall down before you as though dead? Or yet again shall beauty prove perfected

in the thorn-scars of your head? And from your mouth shall soothing words of peace be poured, or shall a sword come forth to strike the nations down? or shall they prove one and the same – your peace the peace of battles won for those who bear your name? Shall I withstand such beauty? Shall I such holiness endure? Shall I, except by its own all-surpassing virtue, survive the dazzling glory of your grace? I do not know your face, by men rejected as by men adored, but seeing, I would know you and I would love you, Lord.

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever!
