A Guide to Freeview Ever since the switch over to digital TV, more and more people have heard of Freeview. If you’re not aware of what Freeview is – it’s basically a free service that enables anybody with a Freeview tuner to get access to a range of TV and radio channels.

Pros  It’s free!– One of the biggest benefits of Freeview is that you don’t have to pay any subscription fee. Once you have bought a box and set it up, you’ll then have access to a generous selection of digital TV and radio channels. Of course the selection is not as wide ranging as paid services but this what you’d expect.  Choose your own set top box– This might not seem like that big of a deal but it’s actually a big plus of getting Freeview. Unlike paid services such as BT and Sky, when get a Freeview box you can decide on the features that you want, such as the size of the hard drive and the EPG. When selecting a set top box it’s always worth seeing how it works when set up if at all possible.  Easy to set up– If you already have a digital aerial installed then getting Freeview set up in your home is very easy and something that most people can manage themselves. This is always a bonus since you don’t have to pay any installation costs and you can start watching right away.
