Ivory Tower of the poet Janos Pilinszky

Ivory Tower

Janos Pilinszky was a hungarian poet, who has seen the horrors during WW II and suffered occupied by the nazis and felt pangs of conscience. His lyriscs are rarely abstract, hardly understandable and mysterious. We had to plan an ivory tower to retriement from the border wordl to a personal, intimate space. My inspiration was one of his poem, called „Massage from a glass castle. The site is surrounded by huge firewalls. My idea was a wall above the street with a portal. Then you can go the path, to reach the glass castle. When you are in, it is the ony way to see outside, but you cannot se anything inside in the street. The structure is surrounded by water and stands on steel columns. The phylosophy behind: -He wont connect with the world, he has a transcendent status.

Chapel

Chapel

In this project, we studied how to think about abstraction of the spiritual way of architecture. I I had to plan a small chapel in a holy place, Hill bence. The place was surrended by a lake, called Venice. My inspiration was a saying: „the stars are just holes in the floor of heaven.“ The heaven is at the airy space, beneath the mortal world, which will not be what awaits him outside. Also I had a lot of inspiration of the nearby rocks, it meant to me, that they must be connected somehow with the spirit of the place. And also it way a great opportunity to make a spiritual way myself, about birth and death, the circulation of life. II have sketched an ancient monolithic massive building, and i started to tear it down pice by pice. The upper space is the holy place, and the glass colums gets the sun lenses to the foreground, the profane. By this method, I have connected the spiritual and the material world.

podium 10

The second semester our goal was to plan a wood podium in the National Park of Őrség. We had to think over all details, connections, the weather conditions, also it had to be easily constructed in place. So my Idea was a quite slice and compact form. My inspiration was the wooden fence nearby and the grape plants nearby. The shielding was a light constructed „low-tech“ metal reinforced lamella.

After the second semester of the BA,in 2007, we built up the winner podium during the summer in WestHungary, Alsószölnök. It took 10 days and a collective massive study. We had to manage ourself and work with the course mates.

The site is a sorrounded by a forest and it has a long slope. Therefore I was thinking of a one-storeyed construction. The restrictment was not to build more than 50 nm2 My idea was to create a flowing space, witch has a central space for living functions and separate the space for private and public zones. I had create a living space for in and outdoor living.

Super city

Super City Workshop „Plant tree to the roofs!“ Green roofs is the possible answer to change Budapest city’s micro climate and reduce te co2. flora roof technology can enchange insulation and make the buildng soundproof. Meanwhile in Budapest there’s only 8-10 square meters of green plant, western cityies like wienna it is above 124. We found a way, to connect the roofs in deisnated areas, making islands with functions.

Rebuild a chair

34 Consultants: J贸zsef T贸ta , Istv谩n Ferencz DLA

My goal was to reinterpretate the thonet chair. I took it to another context, and found the way until it expressable so it still can be recognised, accociased, but it would not function anymore.

Furniture

Mediation furniture My goal was to construct a compact, easily easily stackable and transportable furniture. Iit has designed to meditate in the garden, to relax and feel harmony. The form is a kind of gesture to the nature. Material: bended plywood
