COOKING ROCKS is a totally new concept that will be organized only once. It is our goal to literally create a once-in-a-lifetime experience. COOKING ROCKS will bring together 8 of the world’s greatest chefs with the world stars that inspire them, in a unique secret location designed by 8 of Flanders’ hottest new design talents. The interaction between these rock star personalities will no doubt create fireworks. COOKING ROCKS will blow your mind with its high level of quality and truly star studded lineup in an environment that has never before been used as a location for an event.

At the heart of COOKING ROCKS will be 8 of the world’s 100 BEST CHEFS, creating a unique gastronomic extravaganza the likes of which has never been seen before. “Organised by Restaurant magazine, World’s Best Restaurants list is an annual snapshot of the opinions and experiences of over 800 international restaurant industry experts. The results are a simple computation of votes. Given that this wellconstructed list is based on personal experiences it can never be definitive, but we believe it is a honourable survey of current tastes and a credible indicator of the best places to eat around the globe.” www.theworlds50best.com
COOKING ROCKS _ COOKING ROCKS then sets out on a journey around the world to find 8 world super stars that inspire the chefs. The journey will be one through music, dance, theatre, movies and architecture and is likely to span thousands of kilometres... What will happen next will remain a secret until the day of the event.
COOKING ROCKS _ Flanders is not only the home of more than an average amount of incredible chefs, it is also the home of a number of great designers. COOKING ROCKS will give a platform to 8 of these talented young designers to show the guests what they are made of. Expect to be surprised. Expect to be astounded.
COOKING ROCKS _ Gert De Mangeleer & Joachim Boudens run the 3 Michelin star restaurant Hertog Jan in Brugge. They have reached this incredibly high level of quality in a record time and they still adhere to their motto: “Simplicity is not simple.� Creating COOKING ROCKS is not simple either. Gert & Joachim are our guides and your hosts through this amazing journey. Their high level of quality is what we aim for. Their search for sheer perfection will help us to create an unforgettable event.
COOKING ROCKS
_ COOKING ROCKS will take place on September 14th, 2014. The preparations have already started and you and your guests can be a part of the incredible journey. The key concept for the event and its success is secrecy and mystery. The location is in Flanders but will be kept secret until just before the event, when the participants will receive an sms with the gps coordinates. The names of the chefs, the stars and the designers will only be revealed the night of the event. There will be no communication about the event before it takes place, shrouding it in total mystery. The buzz and after effect will be assured by the quality of the event and the presence of the most important national and international journalists and bloggers, right at your table.
COOKING ROCKS _ There will be 8 tables set for COOKING ROCKS, each with 40 chairs, 36 of which can be filled by each of the partner companies. Each partner company can rest assured that their guests will never forget the unique event they attended. Being a part of COOKING ROCKS costs 30.000 euros (excl vat). For this amount you may attend the event with 36 people. Every partner company will receive corporate attention during the event (gobo logo projection, logo present in the video projection, on all printed materials, in the souvenir book,...) Apart from this any specific return can always be discussed and tailor made. If you become a partner, this becomes your event too... Last but not least, profits will go to the world food banks. We will not make a big fuss about this, we’ll just do it.
COOKING ROCKS _ COMMUNICATION & MARKETING As we wrote before, the key word of the event is secrecy. Therefore, there will be no traditional advertisements. But... imagine... the buzz that will be create once your guests realize what they are about to experience and who will be at their table... This is social media “heaven�. Imagine the amount of photographs that will be shared, the articles that will be written, the blog posts that will appear world wide. But above all... imagine the memories you are creating for your guests. This is something they will never forget. And they owe it all... to you! BRANDING There will be 7 tables other than yours as a partner... In a way, the other guests will also be your guests. We are open to any branding ideas you may have. As long as they enhance the event... we are happy to look into them with you.
COOKING ROCKS _ WE THINK FURTHER. COOKING ROCKS supports the food banks of Belgium. We pledge ourselves to donate the fee of one of the 8 tables to the Food banks of Belgium. We won’t make a big fuss about it. There will be no press release and no oversized cheque. We will just do it.

That is why on Monday 15 September, we proudly present the successor to The Flemish Primitives: COOKING ROCKS PROFESSIONAL In the spirit of The Flemish Primitives we want to continue the effort to invite chefs to share their recent innovations, scientists to show us how science can continue to drive innovation in the kitchens of the world and busines thinkers to provide ideas on sustaining restaurants from a business perspective.

CULTURELE COMMUNICATIE
Peter and his company Shakalaka! ran the production and communication of all past editions of The Flemish Primitives. Apart from this he has organized large scale cultural events such as a four week run of MAMMA MIA! for Kursaal Oostende, international seminars with Philip Kotler and David Allen for Kursaal Seminars, the 2013 Benelux concerts of Maestro Placido Domingo, the 2013 edition of the Belgian Hospitality Awards and the International Sand Sculpture Festivals in Zeebrugge and Hardelot.
