Introduction - “Cold Deep Seawater” 1. The shore coast of Hawaii is the one of few areas in the world where Deep Sea Water is welled directly out from the shore. These welled out Deep Sea Water had originated from Iceland 2000 years ago. Melted ice becoming cold water traveled down to depth of 4000 meters (13,300 feet) below sea level. They then joined with Deep Sea Water currents and took 2000 years to reach the shores of Hawaii. They hit deep shelf of the Kona shore and stopped and are now being welled out along the steep mountain slope. 2. Deep Seawater from 900meter(3000feet)depth. - Very rich various minerals - Cold Deep Seawater is delivered onshore at a chilly 6ºC (43°F). - It is very clean, pure and with no bacterium. 3. Unique Resources - Generation of electricity from a natural temperature difference of about 20º between the cold and warm seawaters. - Low cost natural cooling systems - Cold water Agriculture - Aquaculture - Marine Biotechnology - Mineral water production
The characteristic of our project 1. The trial of making completed farm system of raising tuna by Kinki University - Location: Amami Oshima(Japan) - They got success to establish completed system of tuna farming from hatchery to matured size. - It is fish farming using ocean. Potential Problems: - Danger of disease by bacteria and virus, because of natural ocean. - Natural disaster like Typhoon etc. - Ocean pollution by the remains of foods and excrement. 2. Miyakojima Tuna Aquarium “Rabota - Location: Miyakojima, Okinawa - Trial of circulatory fish farming on the land - They tried to solve the problems using ocean. It is easy to control water quality and temperature. It is to get rid of collision death with wall and increase in exercise quantity. - But there are possibilities of disease, so they still using ocean water.
3. Blue fin Tuna on the land farming project by Tokai University Location: Yaizu, Shizuoka - Using round tank on the land, they tried to avoid the problems of ocean farming but the survival ratio from baby fish was 30%. - The characteristic of this project is to use “Seawater under ground” - It is underground water of 17º- 21º and also salt water. - It is suitable temperature for tuna and clean filtered by rocks, eliminating harmful bacteria even when it is salt water.
4. Our Project Overcome all difficulties of above three major projects= - Circulatory fish farming on the land - Producing high exercise quantity and high quality Blue fin tuna. - Using Deep Ocean Water we can produce clean, safe and high nutritive value tuna. - Eco-fish farming on the land - Utilizing natural temperature difference from 6ยบ to 25ยบ, we can produce many kinds at the same system along with life cycle, from small to midsize, seaweed, clams, etc. - Enough marketing size - It is already popular about Hirame, Kanpachi and Moi in Hawaii market. - True World Foods will be strong marketing company for us.
