Sweet Potato Turkey Treats


Why buy a box of nutrient deficient biscuits when you can prepare homemade delicious and nutritious treats? These yummy cookies are vitamin and protein rich and enhanced with antioxidant rich berries and ginger. Our pets love them and your pet companion will too! Bon Appetit!

INGREDIENTS 4 cups sweet potatoes (cooked and mashed) 1 tbs. honey ½ cup cottage cheese 1 lb ground turkey (cooked and mashed small) or chicken breast (cooked and shredded) 1 tsp cinnamon ½ tsp ginger 1 cup oats 1 ½ cups whole wheat or rice flour 1 ½ cups blueberries or cranberries PREPARATION 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.

Preheat oven to 350◦ F. Cover baking sheets w/ parchment or silicone baking mats. In a large bowl MIX on LOW sweet potato, honey, cottage cheese until well blended. Add meat and spices, MIX on LOW until well blended. Add flour and oats gradually; MIX on LOW until well blended. Fold in blueberries. Spoon onto baking sheet w tablespoon (or roll into 1 ½” balls) and flatten. Bake for 30 minutes, or until browned at the edges. Cool and refrigerate.

Makes 3-4 dozen round snacks. Store in zip lock bags in your refrigerator or freezer.
