Solar Roadways
The first solar roadway in the U.S. was installed in December of 2020. The stretch of road is in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, and it is part of the Technology Parkway. The solar roadway is what it sounds like- a road created by solar panels, Wattway in this case, that can be laid over existing roads. The newly installed panels will help charge electric cars with the over 1,300 Source: motorauthority.com kilowatt-hours it is set to produce annually.
Synthetic Fuel
Porsche and Siemens Energy have plans to build a plant in Chile to create synthetic fuel or e-fuels. The synthetic fuel aims to work in both combustion engines and plug-in hybrids. This advancement will not only pave the way for future sports cars from Porsche but will also allow their classic cars to continue running in the years to come. Source: motorauthority.com
Fuel Cells will power Navistar Trucks Have you seen GM’s new logo?
GM has announced they will be supplying their Hydrotec power cubes, their branded name for fuel cells, to truck maker Navistar. This will allow tractor-trailers doing cross country long hauls to go for over 1,000 miles, decreasing the number of fill ups needed. This technology can also be used to power submarines and rail locomotives, so it seems likely more partnerships based on this power cube are yet to come. Source: forbes.com

Update Your Communication
It has often been said that communication is key. That long-lived saying is worth listening to, especially during the constant changes that have come along with COVID-19 safety guidelines. Customers want to know what to expect when they need vehicle service or repair. Here are some ways to reflect on current communication practices.
Keep your online presence up-to-date and accessible
Customers don’t want to have to work to find updated information about your business. Make sure that any time changes, closings, or delays have been reflected on your online profiles. Check and update your website, Google My Business account, Facebook, or any other customer facing material. You could also take this time to clean up or delete any old accounts your business may no longer use. Your information should be consistent and clear across all platforms.
Utilize the online platforms you have
Along with updating your online profiles, you should also consider your content strategies for your accounts. What extra information do you want your profile to convey? Do you want customers to hear more about your deals, have an inside look at employee events, or see what precautions you have to keep them healthy and safe? Sharing photos or updates will give potential customers a better idea of what your business is like. We will price match on similar low-cost alternative paper in the market!
Evaluate your current communication methods and practices with customers
When customers ultimately do reach out, take the time to assess how you are communicating back. The way you word a response is going to change the success of the interaction. Be friendly and provide follow up information.
Most importantly, let your customers know that your business is here to help them and is committed to keeping them happy during their time with you!
