Industry News & Trends Listen to Your Reviews
Did you know that the 2021 Automotive Reputation Report by Reputation found that 80% of car shoppers feel it is important to factor reviews into their decision-making? That’s a lot of potential customers that will be looking up your business before they decide to come in. Whether it’s on your website, your social media accounts, Google, or any other platform, you’ll want to take customer reviews seriously. Make it a practice to request
reviews from customers that tell you they had a positive experience. One to two sentences from them can really make a difference. Show future customers that you take feedback seriously by leaving a response on reviews with suggestions in them. Finally, don’t be shy about celebrating good reviews. Share a positive review on your social media or feature it on your website so visitors know what your dealership is great at. Recap While the 2021 AAPEX show was notably smaller compared to years past, it was great shaking hands and catching up with the customers who were able to attend, as well as meeting the many new prospective customers who stopped by the booth to see what Slip-N-Grip was about. There were many interested in the GoDEX® printers and custom programming capabilities, which can be seen on our new distributor portal. It was also a pleasure to share some positive news about our improving lead times and inventory levels on our most popular products.

Thank you to our many loyal customers who made it worth attending this year’s show, despite the challenges everyone has faced over the last 18 months. We look forward to supporting your success throughout 2022. – Adam, Casey, and Tim

Product Announcement I Y F White Low Tack Labels Due to supply issues, we now only have white low tack and clear low tack label stock available. The white low tack and clear low tack labels are a comparable product that are temporarily replacing the white and clear static cling labels. The white low tack labels have a thinner paper backing resulting in smaller roll sizes compared to the static cling labels that you may have ordered in the past. However, they do still contain 500 labels. We will notify you once our supply of static cling material is available.

Sales Team Spotlight
Dealership Trends What should your dealership be preparing for as we get closer to the new year? Vince Santivasi, head of direct markets for Zurich North America, has a few ideas.

Cybersecurity
Sales Coordinator Petoskey, MI
First on the list is making cybersecurity a priority. Auto dealers are at a high risk of losing their customer’s information if a hacker attacks. Review your current cybersecurity protocols and add new protection measures as needed. Make sure your staff is aware of different ways cyber-attacks can be carried out (phishing, malware, etc.) and train them to avoid these risks.

Best Product add-on: Although Greg is a fan of Slip-N-Grip floor mats, he thinks steering wheel covers are a must-have right now. He says, “Why not take that extra step in protecting customers from not only germs, but also from dirt and grease as well.” Thanks for all you do Greg!
Sustainability, electric vehicles
The second trend is preparing for sustainability and electric vehicles. As many automakers announce plans to produce more EVs, dealers will need to prepare to add them to their showrooms. Being equipped to have conversations with customers about EVs should be on your to-do list for the new year.
Compliance risks, new regulations
Compliance and regulation updates are the third trends for 2022. F&I changes will be top of mind, so make sure employees are aware of current practices. Training plans should be made for the year to come.
Talent acquisition, employee retention
Fourth, gaining and retaining employees is a crucial task. Reflect on your current hiring and management practices and decide what needs to change next year to have the best staff possible. Plan for hiring and recruiting campaigns that will bring in great new members to your dealership’s team. But, don’t forget to recognize your staff that already shines! Best of luck planning for 2022 — we look forward to providing you quality vehicle service protection all year long!
