Cosmic Simulacra

Dal colore della terracotta scaturiscono simulacri di quotidiane opportunità. Nel cosmo dell’umano sentire fluttuano spaccati di vissuti e di emozioni. Possono assumere dimensioni da micro a macroscopiche e si lasciano plasmare, isolati o riuniti a gruppi sempre restano testimoni attivi, frutto e al servizio di quell’intelligenza emotiva che dai primordi continua ad evolversi, accompagnando l’uomo nella sua ricerca di identità e di finalità. L’intreccio dei personali e altrui percorsi può essere fuggevole sfiorarsi, oppure drastica chiusura, ma può farsi fertile apporto in una reciprocità arricchente, in una sinergia che trasforma i singoli sforzi in un’unica tensione. Quando le differenze vengono riconosciute come arricchimento, la reciproca accoglienza si fa armonia. Dal simboleggiato impastarsi con l’altro l’attenzione è posta sulle positive potenzialità della reciprocità, espresse dalle “differenze” che si fanno tutt’uno anche con le contrapposte “preclusioni”. Le preclusioni restano ferite, cicatrici rimarginate impresse nella carne viva, ma possono essere vissute come un elemento portante della personale maturazione e trasformarsi anch’esse in positiva opportunità, in armonia. Questo il significato primo dei tridimensionali messaggi che qui porgo all’osservatore come invito ad un’avvincente escursione nella galassia interiore. Nella loro resa fotografica vengono presentati senza riferimenti proporzionali per una libera lettura nell’immaginario personale. In un’ambientazione che accenna alla trascendenza che li anima e richiama l’immensità del creato in divenire. Tuttavia, sono visibili anche in simulazioni che li collocano in contesto urbano, quali simulacri per l’anelito a un nuovo umanesimo. Alessandra Chillè

From the colour of the terracotta originate simulacra of daily opportunities. Cross sections of experiences and emotions fluctuate within the cosmos of human feelings. Being pure forms capable of assuming any size, they allow themselves to be molded, amalgamated and transformed. Whether isolated or gathered into groups, they are still active witnesses, products and at the same time servants, of that emotional intelligence that since the beginning of time has been evolving, accompanying the human being in his search for identity and purpose. The interweaving of personal and others’ paths, can be both a fleeting touch or a drastic closure; but can become fertile contributions in an enriching reciprocity, in a synergy which can transform the single efforts into a unique tension. When differences are recognised as enrichment, the reciprocal acceptance becomes harmony. From the symbolic mixing with the other, our attention focuses on the positive potential of reciprocity that is expressed by “differences” that become a “whole” even with the counterposed “preclusions”. Preclusions remain as wounds, healed scars impressed in the bare flesh, but they can also be lived as carrier elements of personal maturity, to become positive opportunities, harmony. This is the main meaning of the three-dimensional messages that I offer here to the observer, as an invitation to an engaging excursion into the inner galaxy. In the photographs there are no references to proportions in order to promote a free reading of the work according to the personal imagination in a setting that slightly refers to transcendency, that animates them and recalls the immensity of a developing universe. However, they can also be seen in an urban context, as simulacra of the desire for a new “humanism”.

Alessandra Chillè è nata a Firenze, Italia. Attualmente risiede in un centro storico, sulle colline alle spalle della Versilia, dove ha fatto di un antico frantoio il suo habitat. Già insegnante di discipline pittoriche nei Licei Artistici, dal 1971 espone in mostre personali e collettive in Italia e all’estero. Nel 1977 è invitata al Salon d’Automne di Parigi e, dal 1985, alle edizioni della Mostra Internazionale di scultura all’aperto e della piccola scultura di Castellanza (Varese, Italia), Fondazione Pagani, Museo d’Arte Moderna. Ha collaborato a Loppiano, in Toscana, con l’équipe internazionale del Centro Ave Arte, dove convergono artisti di varie nazionalità per un’esperienza di unità nell’arte, nel dialogo interculturale e interreligioso. Ha ottenuto numerosi, importanti riconoscimenti. Sue opere figurano in Musei e in Collezioni Pubbliche e Private (fra questi il Museo dei Bozzetti “Pierluigi Gherardi” in Pietrasanta, Italia, dove l’artista è presente con una sua opera in terracotta dal titolo Fontana).

Alessandra Chillè was born in Florence, Italy. She currently resides in an ancient oil mill in an old town in the Versilian hills on the Tuscan coast. She has been a teacher of painting in art schools and since 1971 she has also exhibited her work in individual and collective exhibitions in Italy and abroad. In 1977 she was invited to the Salon d’Automne in Paris and since 1985 to editions of the International Exhibition of open air sculpture and of small sculpture in Castellanza (Varese, Italy), the ‘Fondazione Pagani’ Museum of Modern Art. She has collaborated with the Centro Ave Arte international team, in Loppiano (Florence), where artists of different nationalities converge in order to experience a life of unity in art through an intercultural and interfaith dialogue. She has received several important awards and her works are included in museums and public and private collections (including the Museo dei Bozzetti “Pier Luigi Gherardi” in Pietrasanta, Italy, where the artist is represented with one of her terracotta works entitled Fountain).
