Master Thesis: Reconstruction and Development of Volga Riverfront, Multi- functional Public Centre The project is a reconstruction of the River Port territory in Saratov that is situated on Volga, between two host cities of FIFA World Cup 2018: Volgograd and Samara. It is an opportunity for the city to develop public facilities and to become a cultural attractor for the surrounding areas. Masterplan includes tree buildings: trade and exhibition centre, River Port and concert-cinema centre. The cinema-concert centre with tree halls on 1800, 300 and 150 seats was developed in detail during one semester. The shape of the building is a series of arches that are decreasing in height and contain inside fire staircases and lifts.

FUNCTIONAL SCHEME

MORPHOGENESIS OF CELLS

The main goal for the Media Centre is to provide a hub for startups and creative companies. In other similar renovative industrial zones rent cost is high thus making it unaffordable for young creative people. I propose to create cells of different dimensions on the third floor for writers(3x2m), actors and musicians (6x6m), dancers(6x18m), 2-store rooms for production of art objects, etc. Second floor is transformable, so it can be used either in performance mode or in gallery mode. The first floor is for retail, primarily of those specific products, needed for artists- musical instruments, shoes and cloth for dancers, stationery for painters, etc.

The proposal for the masterplan for the Central district in Sochi is made of two wide green pedestrian stripes that allow residents with children to walk safely from their house to educational facilities. School building is divided into two parts- circle for small pupils and squares-classrooms for older, both have their own entrances. The connection is functional-dining room-big circlar space. All activities, connected with noise such as sport, dancing, singing, lessons and other studios are situated in one rectangle volume. The high-rise house has terraces and vertical wood structures on facades aim to protect flats from overheating in summer. The northwest facade of the house is morphing, which allows to have different kinds of flats from 30 m2 on the first floor to 145m2 on the last floor with increasing area of terraces to the top. FACADE PANELS

“Markaz Tower” in Kuwait

This residential project locates in Kuwait in the conditions of hot climate. I was working on design of the facade, interior of lobby and rooftops and open parking of the building. The facade’s goal is to create the appearance of the tree, that gradually morphs to the sun. Six types of panels, 1m x 3m size, were designed with pattern, which remind us of traditional ones. Different options for colours of these panels were done. On the ground level, special attention is aimed for the landscape project with 4 transparent glass pavilions, covered with green roofs, each with different program- lobby, reception, retail, cafe. The rooftop consists of two parts- barbecue and gym with terrace for sunbathing. To create a shadow above the swimming pool, pergola from ETFE panels were designed.

Block in 22@ district ENERGY CONSUMPTION

INPUT TEMPERATURE IN REAL TIME

Actual situation: many buildings are quite empty therefore the consumption is low. Graph show the energy consumption related to the program and respective floors m2.

Research project investigates multiscalar strategies for the reconstruction of our inhabiting environments (home, city, planet). Analysing one block in 22@ district in Barcelona, three parameters were generated: latitude and longitude, environmental data (temperature, CO2 emissions, noise, light) and urban context (density, flow of people). Massive volume of old industrial building was divided into boxes with different functional use and they were transferred to other buildings, where there is a need of them. Although parts of the building can spread around city, like different moving studious, glass facade remains stable and can be used for attraction and on-line mapping of current events.

Dissertation: Domesticity and social production in the Science City This is part of the proposal that was formulating during one year of Projective Cities programme and is developing into a final designed-and-written Dissertation. The science city and knowledge economy are presented to us as specific spaces of the city, as spaces of exchange, synthesis, collaboration, and as new opportunities. Thus, knowledge production can be understood as a matter of lifestyle, as living in the city. Yet what are these vague spaces we live in and how do they relate to the production of knowledge? Looking closer at the science city, it lacks housing that is connected to the spaces of production, instead, they are separated and generic. In an era of knowledge economy, the relationship between production and domesticity is replaced by relations of interaction and collaboration and has lost spatial specificity. Therefore, it is almost impossible to define what the spaces of knowledge economy are. Therefore, can we rethink or redefine these spaces through domesticity once again? Design site is in Copenhagen between City Campus and Science City. The project proposes a form, where housing and working are more mixed through shared spaces, that are seen as potential for constructing a worker, whose productivity is measure not only in economic, but also in knowledge and social terms. The idea is to create an urban form, where different constituencies are mixed to create a possibility for constructing new social relationships that otherwise would not be possible. Housing types are based on the lifestyles that very from an isolated individual to the more collective, so that knowledge worker can choose the one which is the most appropriate for him at certain point of his life. To conclude, working and living can be seen as one inseparable process, but they definitely have variety and shades, because all people are different. The project is not accepting the Post-fordists idea about almost identical users and their needs, neither it agrees with the functional separation between working and living of the Modern movement. Instead it tries to articulate this richness through social groups and differentiated carpet of shared spaces that work on different scales and in 3dimentions.
