Working with pewag products
Ecological awareness in all areas
The pewag group has a substantial and diverse spectrum of products and services. Our range of products varies from traction chains for tires (snow chains for passenger cars, trucks and special-purpose vehicles, tire protection chains for mining vehicles) over different industrial chains to products for the do-it-yourself sector (light chains, belts, etc.)
We continuously strive to keep the influence of our business on the environment as low as possible. Our production and warehousing is organized so that all legal requirements on environmental protection are fulfilled. Furthermore, we consider ecological aspects for our product development, processes and distribution channels and include these in our business planning. Consequently, we are permanently striving for a continuous improvement and development of our established products to reach higher load capacities and safety for our customers with lighter weights and longer life spans. Wherever we cannot avoid an environmental impact, we strive to reduce the use of energy, environmentally harmful emissions and keep the production of waste to a minimum. When investing in new machines we consider the technically most adequate and economically feasible state-of-the-art designs for their designated area of use.

cervino The standard chain for average to moderate use. Product description The special “long pitch square wire links reduce material and weight. The asymmetrical pattern guarantees optimum lateral traction.
austro-sv Robust and reliable. The classic chain for heavy-duty utility vehicle use. Product description pewag austro super is the proven all-round chain model: The light weight of this chain makes it easy to mount, yet its durable design is perfectly suited for transporters and trucks. The proven and popular austro super is the classic chain for mediumduty utility vehicle use. The low chain weight guarantees easy handling as well as good traction. Pressed together side hooks are used to connect the chain mesh with the side chains for the smaller material diameters (4.5 and 5.6 mm). For the 7 mm version pewag connect the chain mesh to the side chains using welded rings, which are required to cope with the demands of more powerful vehicles and larger tires. This additional feature makes the chain even more reliable for larger vehicles and tires. Also available in a twin-tire version.

universal ED Strengthened version. The chain for high demands. Product description The reinforced version of the popular pewag universal chain has welded wear bars added to the chain links providing wear resistance and durability even in the toughest environment. Additional wear bars made of square steel are welded to each link in the chain mesh to significantly increase both grip and durability of the chain. For wide-base tires pewag offers a version with a staggered chain mesh. The wider chain mesh provides a higher wear resistance, longer life span and smoother running. Also available in standard version without wear bars.
uniradial SED Solid and strong. The net chain for extreme demands. Product description The pewag uniradial chain is the traditional net chain for extreme truck use. The special six-sided barrel design ensures a smooth ride, best traction and outstanding durability. Each vertical link of the chain mesh has welded wear-bars out of rectangular steel. Additional wear elements are welded onto those parts of the chain that are exposed to extreme pressure. By using this design the grip and life span of the chain is increased markedly. Also available in standard version without wear bars.

unimove TT Brand new ThickThin technology. The professional chain for heavy-duty use. Product description TT (ThickThin) stands for a new pewag technology to manufacture chains using various link shapes and diameters. pewag unimove TT is the first chain type worldwide which unites different link shapes in one chain mesh. The projecting link has a wave profile; due to its wave shape the grip on snow-covered or icy ground is improved. The profile of the horizontal link is rectangular with a smaller chain diameter; due to this small cross-section the weight of the chain is reduced without influencing its running characteristics or wear resistance. The new generation of pewag unimove has the following advantages: • weight reduction up to 10% (preserves vehicle, tire and road surface, reduces fuel consumption and increases the life span of the chain up to 20%) • wave profile links allow better grip on snow and ice
erzberg ED A strong piece of equipment. Special chain for high powered vehicles. Product description pewag erzberg ED is a densely meshed net-style chain in a robust welded ring version, which offers improved grip and also tire protecting properties. The forged closing hooks reduces noise and ensures quiet running. This is a very reliable chain which is easy to handle and can withstand the harshest conditions.

austro ST Professional chain for medium to heavy duty use. Product description This net-style chain in track design is the perfect model for military vehicles with medium to heavy duty use. The chain net made of squarelink chains is designed to provide a perfect fit between links which reduces twisting of the chains and provides excellent traction. Additional pressed-on links with welded wear-bars increase the lifetime of the chain significantly. The special chain design ensures a smooth ride even at higher speeds.
radial spur SED Profi net chain for extreme use with heavy duty vehicles. Product description This round-link chain made of non-aging nickel-manganese alloy fine grained high-grade steel combined with a special heat treatment is the perfect model for extreme off-road applications. The chain net made of round link chain and pressed-on links combined with wear bars increase the lifespan of the chain. The special track design allows the chain to be driven also at very high speed, nevertheless offering smooth running. The drop-forged closing hook MVX-7 in the tread net provides easy handling and reliable function even under most difficult conditions.

Lashing capacity (kN)
In 2003, pewag was the first manufacturer in the world to offer G12 chain systems using the innovative profile design. The pewag winner pro chain system can be used for lifting, lashing and many special applications.
Intelligent profile – with intelligent use of material, pewag has designed a chain link with the same cross section as regular round-link chains that has superior characteristics (such as fatigue and bending resistance) by comparison to standard round-link chains. In order to reach optimum technical performance, material was increased in relevant areas and reduced in irelevant areas.
