Wildlife Matters Nature enthusiast Wayne Morris talks about two of our native owls and his experiences with them. I don’t know about you but I love the sound of a hooting owl – maybe I’ve watched one too many horror films in which these “unsung” film stars provide a spine-tingling ambience! The Tawny Owl – our most common owl – is at its most vocal in autumn, hooting away as it sets up territorial rights in preparation for the winter struggle for food. A lazy hunter, the Tawny Owl can often be seen in your car headlights as you drive through Gloucestershire’s woods, perched on a bough of a tree listening and waiting for the slightest sound of a scurrying mouse or, another of its favourite prey, a bank vole. The Tawny is very much at home in ancient deciduous woodland and, like all owls, have fantastic hearing – their concave facial discs trap sound waves just like a satellite dish catches radio waves. They also fly silently, as their peripheral wing feathers are such that they do not produce a swishing sound that could potentially alert a nearby ‘meal’. These predators hunt by stealth! I once saw around five Tawny Owls standing on the road, looking as if they were having a meeting. Were they wising-up on something?! In contrast, the Barn Owl is an active hunter – it is much smaller
than a Tawny, whitish in colour and beautiful to observe. You will often see them at dawn and dusk hovering over open fields before ‘dive-bombing’ upon sight of its prey – not dissimilar to the kestrel’s actions. There are captive breeding programmes to maintain their numbers as the Barn Owl is much more vulnerable to long periods of snow cover than the Tawny. The Barn Owl does not hoot but tends to make a hissing or snoring noise. These owls are also responsible for the myth surrounding ghosts being white, as they fly around graveyards – Barn Owls flying at night can look very ‘ghost-like’ indeed. My first ever sighting of a Barn Owl in the wild was a moving experience – many years ago I was driving at night when I noticed a white bird flying along with me on the other side of the road. At first I thought it was a seagull. I slowed down ... it slowed down. I stopped the car, and it stopped and perched on a fence. It then turned its head to reveal its prominent facial disc and looked in my direction. We appeared to acknowledge each other, and I felt I’d connected with nature and wildlife. It eventually flew off and I drove home feeling excited and spiritually richer for the sighting. A truly fantastic experience.

Friends of St. Mary’s Church Charlton Kings
If a time traveller from the 1500s, say, had travelled 500 years into the future, would there be anything in the modern Charlton Kings he or she would recognise? One or two roads that used to be tracks maybe – perhaps even a pub – but the main feature would have been St Mary’s Church, then as now the centre of the village. It is still here now because previous generations supported and nurtured it for us all to enjoy. If, like us, you would like future generations to continue to enjoy our church, then why not help to preserve and protect this beautiful Charlton Kings centrepiece? You can do this by becoming a Friend of St Mary’s where, for a modest subscription, you can help to safeguard its future.
VOUCHERS
The Friends of St Mary’s Charlton Kings are holding their Annual Service on Sunday 9th February at 10am. All are welcome – please contact friends@stmarysck.org.uk for further details.

Valentine Delicious Cheesecake Dishes
Ingredients: For the base – 200g digestive biscuits; 100g unsalted butter, melted. For the filling – 3 sheets of leaf gelatine; 142ml carton single cream; 300g full-fat soft cheese; 100g golden caster sugar; finely grated zest of 1 lemon; 3tbsp lemon juice; 300g strawberries, hulled and chopped, plus a few extra to decorate (keep leaves on a few); 142ml carton double cream.
Method: 1 Seal the biscuits in a plastic bag and crush them to fine crumbs with a rolling pin or whiz them in a food blender. Melt the butter in a saucepan then add the crumbs and mix well so the crumbs are soaked. Tip the mixture into a loose-bottomed 24cm round cake tin, at least 5cm deep, and press down with the back of a metal spoon to make an even layer over the bottom of the tin. Chill in the fridge while you make the filling. 2 Submerge the gelatine leaves in a dish of cold water and leave to soak and soften for 5 minutes. Pour the single cream into a pan and bring just to the boil, then
The Local Answer
take off the heat. Take the gelatine leaves out of the water, give them a good squeeze to get rid of excess water, and stir one by one into the cream (they will dissolve instantly). Leave to cool for a few minutes. 3 Beat the cheese in a bowl with the sugar, lemon zest and juice until smooth and creamy. Mix in the cream and gelatine mixture and the chopped strawberries. 4 In another bowl, lightly whip the double cream so it falls in soft peaks, then fold it into the strawberry mixture. Pour into the cake tin and smooth down lightly. Chill for at least 211⁄22 hours until set (the cheesecake can be made a day ahead). 5 To serve, run a knife between the cheesecake and the tin to loosen it, remove it from the tin, then take it off its base and put it on a serving plate. 6 To decorate, save a few whole strawberries with the leaves still on, halve the others lengthways, then pile them in the middle. Or dip some strawberries in chocolate, or buy/make some chocolate hearts – be creative!
This cheesecake also works well using raspberries.

1 Bourton's obvious tourist attractions conceal
its importance as an archaeological site, for it has had exceptional historic continuity as a settlement. There is evidence of human habitation since Neolithic times, a period of some 5000 to 6000 years. Just to the east lies Salmonsbury Camp, an Iron Age hillfort that was occupied until Roman times. The Romans crossed the River Windrush here via the Fosse Way, the bridge, of course, having long since decayed. There are several places of interest in Bourton that the walker may wish to visit before or after the walk. Here are a few: • Birdland Park and Gardens is home to over 500 birds including parrots, flamingos, falcons, ibis, pelicans and the only King Penguins in England. The gardens cover 7 acres (2.8ha) of landscaped parks and lakes. • The Model Village is a replica of Bourton at the time it opened in 1937 at 1/9 th scale, complete with authentic stone walled and tiled houses, churches and a miniature River Windrush. It took four years to construct, and follows the detail of the village faithfully, including a model of the model. • Bourton Model Railway exhibition covers about 500 square feet (46 sq m) with over 40 British and continental trains travelling through various miniature scenes. • The Cotswold Motoring Museum opened in 1978 with a 1920s theme but has since expanded to include motoring in the 1960s and 1970s. Among the vintage cars, motorcycles and bicycles are thousands of items of memorabilia, and a collection of over 800 period advertising signs.

Opening eyes – a fresh approach to estate agency New sales and letting agent opens in Cheltenham ... February 2014 sees the Cheltenham launch of a revolutionary new concept in estate agency, which director Peter Osborne believes will be welcome news to home sellers and landlords across the town. Offering selling fees from as little as £325 or 0.85% for a full estate agency service, and £169 for a tenant find service – Peter expects Open House Cheltenham to substantially reduce the costs traditionally associated with moving home or letting property. The company’s objective is to combine the best of a traditional estate agency service with the low fees associated with personal property selling websites.
Options to suit all budgets Part of a network of ‘local property agents’ backed with national marketing support, Open House offer a range of selling and letting options to suit all budgets which they are confident will save people in Cheltenham thousands of pounds. The low fees are achieved by reducing unnecessary overheads, group buying power and the centralisation of non-customer facing functions. Peter, who’s been a resident of Cheltenham for over 20 years, commented: “The way that people are searching for property is changing, with over 90% of successful home buyers now using the internet. Combine this with those who found their next home via an advert in the local press or by a ‘for sale’ board, then this figure is likely to be a lot closer to 100%.”
“I believe that people still value the one-to-one service and local knowledge that an estate agent can provide, although I also believe consumers are more informed today and are prepared to shop around for great value service. This is exactly what I’ll be delivering with Open House Cheltenham.”
LIMITED OFFER In addition to its great value standard fees, Cheltenham’s newest estate agent is also offering readers of The Local Answer a
REDUCED FEE of 0.5%+VAT
FOR THE FIRST 10 SALES INSTRUCTIONS which could save home sellers further thousands!
Home sellers and landlords can find out more about Open House Cheltenham’s selling and letting options Great value service by contacting Peter on 01242 500448 or by visiting After a successful career in financial and professional www.localagent.co.uk. services, Peter decided to stay in Cheltenham, and “A great value estate agency move into the estate agency and lettings industry, when his role was relocated to London. He said: “This and lettings service will be gave me the opportunity to really look at what I exactly what I’ll be delivering wanted to do with my career. I have always wanted to be my own boss and, having investigated a number with Open House Cheltenham” of business opportunities, I decided to join the Open Peter Osborne, Director House network.

But given there are literally dozens of pet insurance companies out there on the market, and all with different levels of cover and options to choose from, it makes it very hard to compare ‘like for like’ and know which is the best value. There are ‘life-long’ and ‘12 month’ policies, policies that have limits per condition with significant variations between what is covered and what is considered a pre-existing condition. There are big differences in the amount of excess you pay, and some policies make you pay a proportion of the total claim. It is, therefore, not surprising that it’s usually these anomalies and small print that end up causing the most problems for pet owners. It’s relatively easy to jump on a comparison website and look for the cheapest policy but are you really getting value for money and, most importantly, are they going to pay out when you do claim? Two of the most critical factors to consider are what are called lifelong vs 12 month cover and the issue of pre-existing conditions.
Life-long vs Annual Policies On a quick comparison website you will quickly realise that the 12 month policies are much cheaper than the lifelong ones. Lifelong essentially means that whatever condition the pet develops, they are covered for that condition year after year. There will be a maximum amount paid out, either per year or in total, but it generally means that chronic recurring conditions are well covered – especially useful for chronic conditions like arthritis or illnesses like diabetes that will affect a pet for many years. ‘12 month’ means a condition once diagnosed is only covered for one year and then becomes excluded from cover. Understandably they are often quite a bit cheaper, but it means any problem that keeps recurring or is a long term illness will eventually become excluded. The danger is that as the years progress more problems become excluded until there is not much you can claim for. At that stage you might think well I’ll simply switch to a new insurer, but then we hit the second issue – that of ‘pre-existing conditions’. Essentially any disease/problem/condition a pet had before a policy was taken out is considered pre-existing and usually not covered, even if it was many years earlier and much more minor in its presentation. The requirement to provide medical records when submitting claims to insurers means they can see all your pet’s prior health problems. My advice is to always take out a good ‘life-long’ insurance policy with a respectable company. With the guilt of Christmas excesses still fresh in my mind, I decided to try a training session at the Trimnasium gym. My personal trainer was Nick Runciman and, although I’ve been going to the gym for a few months, I felt a little apprehensive at my lack of gym experience – so this was a great opportunity to pick the brains of someone in the know! My main goal now is to strengthen and tone which is something I’m not achieving by attending the usual classes, so it was time to see what else the gym had to offer. Nick started me on the Vibe Cycle to get warmed up, followed by some dynamic stretching, which is a more modern and effective way to warm-up before exercise and helps increase range of movement, blood and oxygen flow to soft tissues.

We then went through a variety of exercises (squats, push-ups, pulley straps and weights) that were isolated to work certain areas of the body, followed by a 5 station circuit that consisted of full body movements to help tone my waist, legs, bum and arms. It was a massive benefit having Nick guide me through the session, ensuring my posture and technique were correct so that I was getting the best from my workout. It turns out my hands weren’t quite placed right when doing push-ups – I could certainly feel the difference when I did them properly. It’s always hard to motivate yourself in the gym so it was great having a personal trainer there to encourage me and spur me on when I was flagging. I will definitely be returning for another PT session in the future, but for now I am confident I can walk into a gym and know what exercises I need to do to help me achieve my goal! Trimnasium believe they are the ‘best’ functional gym in Cheltenham so, whether you are a professional athlete looking to be put through your paces or a yummy mummy wanting to get yourself in shape, why not get in touch – you won’t be disappointed!

NEW COURT World War 1 Museum
Graham Sacker, co-author of ‘Leaving all that was dear – Cheltenham & The Great War’, talks about ‘New Court’ – the town’s new museum ...
Melissa aims to ‘educate and inform’ I recently met an incredible lady called Melissa Webb (pictured) at the museum that she has established in the Grade II listed building in Lansdown Road, Cheltenham, which, during the Great War period, housed a Voluntary Aid Detachment hospital for wounded soldiers. Melissa is a primary school teacher who, in 2008 found herself travelling through the old battlefields of northern France on her way home from a holiday in Italy. A day’s detour to take in the scenery turned into a three-week voyage of discovery, and things have never been the same for her since. Now thoroughly steeped in the history of the events of 1914-18, she is a walking encyclopedia of facts and knowledge which she wants to pass on to other folk – and especially to school children – in the next years which commemorate the 100th anniversary of the “war to end all wars”. After searching for two years to find a suitable venue, she has single-handedly set up two huge rooms in the building and filled them with artifacts, photographs, paintings and even a mock-up of a trench, from where visitors can look “over the top” through a periscope to avoid being shot at by the enemy! She has begged and borrowed items from interested
parties and, despite being entirely self-funded, provides the town with something that has been lacking for decades – a place to commemorate the 1,600 men (and a handful of women) from Cheltenham who lost their lives during the onslaught. I certainly congratulate Melissa on a marvellous achievement in creating such a powerful place of interest and Remembrance. Cheltenham Art Gallery & Museum intend to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Great War later in the year so, with the support they have through local funding and the space available to them, I look forward to visiting what should be another excellent tribute to Cheltonians who made the ultimate sacrifice for us. I urge you to go and meet Melissa, whose guided tour will surely be an eye-opener. Her aim, she tells me, is to “educate and inform”. She is clearly a very special person with exceptional talents to get you involved. Her website and contact details are below.

Courtesy of Everyman Theatre we have tickets to be won for ‘The Life of Galileo’ – a thrilling production from the Royal Shakespeare Company starring one of the UK’s finest actors, Ian McDiarmid, who leads a huge ensemble cast in this theatrical tour-de-force. The year is 1609 and a brilliant Italian scientist is about to make a discovery that will change the world. Observing the night sky using the recently-invented telescope, he sees the solar system with a clarity never before experienced by astronomers and realises that the earth orbits the sun. When Galileo’s opponents convince the Pope that these new findings pose a threat to religious dogma and may spark unrest and civil disobedience, he is denounced by the Inquisition as a heretic and forced to publicly denounce his theories. A family ticket for 5 to Cineworld plus a Disney Tinker Bell costume!
Disneyʼs Tinker Bell & the Pirate Fairy is showing at Cineworld from Feb 14th (Cert U). When a lonely dust keeper fairy named Zarina steals the precious blue pixie dust, Tink and her friends embark on the adventure of a lifetime to get it back! After discovering Zarina has joined forces with the Pirates who inhabit Skull Rock, the Fairies must act fast before the Pirates use the blue pixie dust to make their ship fly and threaten the safety of Neverland and beyond. Whatʼs worse, Zarina blasts our fairies with a potent blend of dust that switches their talents – AND their outfits – making it nearly impossible (although rather comical) to defeat the pirates and get back the dust. To celebrate the movie release, Disney and Cineworld are offering a fantastic prize for the family! For a chance to win 5 tickets along with a childʼs Tinker Bell costume including shoes, bag and wand, visit www.thebrewerycheltenham.co.uk/competitions. The competition runs until 28th February 2014. For more of the latest offers, events and competitions at the Brewery visit: thebrewerycheltenham.co.uk.

Award nominees to perform at Cheltenham Folk Festival Five of the artists set to perform at the 18th Cheltenham Folk Festival this month have been nominated for the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. Bella Hardy, performing as part of ‘Carthy, Hardy, Farrell & Young’ and ‘The Liberty to Choose’, and Lucy Ward, also performing with ‘The Liberty to Choose’, have both been nominated for Folk Singer of the Year. Greg Russell & Ciaran Algar have been nominated for the Horizon Award, while Chris Wood has been nominated for Best Original Song for ‘None the Wiser’. The BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards celebrate the very best of British folk music and outstanding talent within the genre with an award ceremony and live show on 19 February 2014 at the Royal Albert Hall. Nominees are chosen by a panel of 100-150 music industry representatives, including broadcasters, journalists, festival organisers, record company directors, agents and promoters. Now in its 18th year, the Cheltenham Folk Festival continues to bring together some of the best acts currently working on the UK folk scene. This year’s event takes place between Friday 14th and Sunday 16th February and ‘Blowzabella’ will headline the Friday night Opening Concert, which will also feature 2013 nominees for Best Duo, ‘O’Hooley & Tidow’. Saturday night’s Main Concert features 2014 nominee Chris Wood and headliners ‘Blazin’ Fiddles’. Sunday night’s Final Concert features ‘The Young’uns’ and bringing the Festival to a close are headliners ‘Carthy, Hardy, Farrell & Young’. Cheltenham Town Hall will once again act as the hub of the Festival, hosting the Main Concerts, Kids’ Place, Festival Bars and Café, the Market Place and the Box Office. The Playhouse Theatre will host more intimate concerts, workshops and daytime singing sessions. The popular Saturday night Festival Dance will be held at The Princess Hall. A range of fringe events will take place throughout the town over the weekend, including at the newly renovated The Wilson, Cheltenham’s Art Gallery & Museum.

Give your floors a ʻnewʼ look and feel
With the days getting longer, now is the time when many of us start to think about spring cleaning. The Carpet Doctor and Cleaner Stone Floors, both owned and run by husband and wife team Peter & Amanda Rowan, are well positioned to assist with the process. “Regular cleaning of carpets is essential to extend their useful life”, explains Peter. “The microscopic grit scythes away at the wool fibres, creating those unsightly “trail areas”. Regular deep steam cleaning considerably lengthens the life of the carpet, improves air quality and is an excellent investment”. Specialist cleaners of fabric and leather upholstery, this side of the business has seen considerable growth over the last couple of years. “People are often making sizeable investments when purchasing fabric and leather furniture, and deep cleaning can make a real difference to both the look and the life expectancy of that investment”. Why incur the considerable expense of buying new carpets, rugs and soft furnishings when you could invite
the Carpet Doctor in to return them to their former glory. Peter is one of only 12 Master Rug Cleaners in the UK and had to make two trips to Dallas in the U.S.A. to do the necessary training and exams. They pick up, clean and return all rugs. The Cleaner Stone Floors side of the company cleans and restores all stone floors, whether natural or man made (including those annoying and dirty grout lines). Peter explains “When a limestone or travertine floor is laid, because it is stone, people think the maintenance regime will be minimal and it will stay looking pristine for many years. Sadly this is often not the case as seals wear away (if the floor was ever sealed in the first place!) and soiling can soon become ingrained into the stone and grout lines. We specialise in returning the stone to that “just laid” look and then applying a quality seal to protect it going forwards”.
The Extending the life of your carpets “The most thorough cleaning you’ve ever seen...or it’s FREE!!”
If you’re not satisfied, we won’t accept your payment. Simple as that.
For a great clean on carpets, upholstery rugs and stone floors, give us a call today

We have our own dedicated rug cleaning studio so will collect, clean and return all rugs. You know where you are on price. Very important”. “Need an objective view? In t he G arden with Julia Smith
Being too eager is a waste of time As I write this we have had such a lot of rain that I am seriously thinking about building that ark. However by the time you read this all may have changed. We have not had seriously cold temperatures yet this winter, but I have a feeling that as the east coast of America has been suffering the lowest temperatures in 50 years, bad weather may well be on the way. It is too easy to get carried away in February and think that spring is just around the corner – it isn’t! I have found that being too eager is a waste of time – wait a few more weeks and plant when the conditions are more favourable and the plants get off to a flying start and soon catch up with the poor struggling specimens that you couldn’t wait to pop in the cold, wet ground. Once February is out of the way everything seems to speed up with bulbs flowering and vegetable seeds to be sown and weeding and tidying in the borders and the lawn needing cutting again. Anyway enough of what is to come, what to do this month ... To help with the New Year weight loss, why don’t you turn your compost heap? Empty it onto a tarpaulin and replace it in the compost bin, allowing the air to get to all the decaying matter. If it is too wet and slimy, add shredded paper or cardboard. Make sure you cover it with a lid or a piece of old carpet etc. If the weather allows, get out in the borders and remove any weeds. Compost the annual weeds but dispose of things like dandelions (perennial weeds that continue growing year on year) in the garden waste collection (they compost at a much higher temperature to kill off any problem seeds). Removing weeds now will make your job so much easier later on in the season before they take hold. This is the perfect time of year to get to grips with putting stakes in your borders. Hazel or birch is the ideal thing to use for ‘pea sticks’ (not just for peas!) and now is a great time to cut it as the sap rises and it gets a little more pliable, and before the leaves appear. As always, if you fancy a change in your garden – be it just a replanted border or a complete garden design – do contact me by mobile or email (details below), or visit my website.

Cloudy2Clear Windows – Service With A Smile! ADVERTISEMENT
It’s been a crazy few months for Cloudy2Clear Windows. The company which specialises in repairing windows which are steamed up, broken or damaged by replacing the panes – not the frames has grown rapidly as homeowners take advantage of their services. Managing Director Paul Spiller feels that it’s all about service. ‘Our product is simple. If your double glazing is misted up we can replace the glass at a fraction of the cost of a new window, in any type of frame, and with a new 5 year
guarantee. But it’s not just about saving people money, although that obviously helps. Many tradespeople have struggled since last year and I honestly feel that during the good times a minority perhaps didn’t focus on customer care as much as they should have done. We make sure we turn up when we say we will, do the job the customer requires and leave their house as clean as a whistle. I often get comments back from customers on how they really didn’t expect that sort of service which, in a way, is very sad for the service industry as a whole.’
Cloudy2Clear service the Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stroud & Tewkesbury areas and 3DXO LV ÀQGLQJ WKDW KLV approach is a major factor in his success. ‘The truth is that it’s not just the personal satisfaction that I get from doing a good job but also it makes good business sense.
I get a huge amount of business from friends and family of people I’ve done work for, which just goes to show how much a little bit of effort is appreciated.’ So, if your windows are steamed up, broken or damaged give Paul a call for a free quotation on 0800 61 21 118 and he’ll be happy to help!

Money Matters with Roger Downes
Tax Returns – why leave them so late? I have spent most of my last four weeks helping clients to complete their tax returns prior to the filing deadline at the end of January. I do it at this time every year and, on each occasion, I ask why people leave it so late to deal with their own financial affairs. My financial adviser contacts tell me that some of the best deals on tax-free investments are announced in the run-up to the end of the fiscal year at 5 April. Why? Because the majority of us leave it until the last minute to make our contributions. It’s amazing when you think about it. Ok, so you only submit your tax return once, but there is more than compliance at stake here. A number of the returns that we have processed in recent weeks have generated refunds – prompter submission would have put that money in your bank account months earlier. Others had significant tax bills to pay, with little or no time to arrange their finances.
‘The evil day’ I tried to work out why. One client explained that the later he left it, the later he had to pay me. Refreshing honesty, but an isolated view I suspect. Most of those who leave it late are almost certainly putting off what they see as ‘the evil day’. Maybe HMRC should offer incentives rather than beat taxpayers with a stick when they fail to comply. Would an early filing incentive help the government to collect all those returns without the unseemly rush every January? I suspect not, but it works in the retail sector with post-Christmas sales, so why not for tax returns too? A final thought. HMRC reports that over 1,500 people filed their tax returns on Christmas Day 2013. Despite the workload, not even I had to resort to that! Roger Downes FCA – Managing Director

Gloucestershire Constabulary People First Policing This month’s article is supplied by Police Sergeant Simon Ellson of Cheltenham South SCT. Simon reviews the end of the old year and the beginning of 2014 ... A belated Happy New Year to you. Cheltenham South Police had a successful Christmas and New Year period. Whilst the town was busy with festive revellers and shoppers throughout December, incidents and crime were down on the same period last year. The Christmas light switch on in the Town Centre continues to be a hit with residents of Cheltenham. The evening was very busy with more visitors than expected, leaving Sgt White and his team immersed in crowd control! Though everything ran smoothly in the end. As always, New Year’s Eve kept us occupied, with night crews having to stay on in to New Year’s Day. Unfortunately a few drunken party goers causing disorder led to some arrests, but the vast majority of people in the town centre had an enjoyable evening. On the first two Saturdays in December Cheltenham South Police were part of a multi agency group aiming to highlight the issues of begging in the town centre. Cheltenham Partnerships Begging Working Group printed 1000s of flyers which were handed out to shoppers in the High Street and Promenade. The message: if you give to a beggar the likelihood is you will be feeding their drink or drug addiction and not providing assistance to feed or clothe them. Please don’t give money to beggars in the town centre – if you wish to assist, your money will be better spent by donating to a local food bank or Church. Please don’t give burglars an easy opportunity – always ensure your windows and doors are locked. You might have seen myself and colleagues from the Safer Community Team in the High Street on a Wednesday. Over the coming months we will be taking shelter in the Beechwood arcade – please pop along and say hello. We are there to listen to your concerns and offer any assistance we can through an array of practical crime prevention advice. Over the coming weeks we will continue to work hard to provide the best possible service to Cheltenham South. We are always trying new ideas to engage with the local community. We have a twitter account – @CheltSouthPol (not for reporting incidents) – and we’ll also be holding a Police Community Meeting chaired by Inspector Waterhouse on 12th February (7.30pm) at the Stanton Rooms, Church Piece, Charlton Kings. Each area also has a designated Police Community Support Officer and Police Constable – if you are unaware of who yours is, or what Police area you live in, please visit www.gloucestershire.police.uk and click Local Policing Area. Wishing you a safe and crime free 2014! Gloucestershire Constabulary
