veryone is thinking cheap these days, so what better way to save money than with a handmade, easy gift that can decorate any room? The best thing about this votive candle holder is that you choose the colors, so it can be tailored to suit any person’s taste. This also means that the boring brown and black crayons don’t get left out because they can potentially match a lot of things. The possibilities are endless with this craft. You can also use a small round drinking glass to make a colorful, original flower vase or pen holder. Whatever possibility you choose, make sure that the glass you select is perfectly round – it’s hard to roll odd shapes in the melted wax.

Friday 6:00 till 12:00 Midnight Saturday 2:00 till 12:00 Midnight Sunday 12:00 Noon till 10:00 p.m. ADMISSION: $3.00 - UNDER 12 FREE
WHAT YOU DO 1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. 2. Peel the paper off of eight crayons, keeping color scheme in mind. 3. Line a cookie sheet with two layers of wax paper. 4. Organize the crayons on the cookie sheet in a way that you’d like the color to be represented on the votive holder. 5. Put the cookie sheet in the oven for approximately seven minutes (time may vary, so watch carefully).
AUGUST 13 - 19, 2008
6. When the crayons are completely melted, carefully take the cookie sheet out of the oven and set it on a flat surface. 7. Immediately roll the votive holder through the melted wax, making sure to complete a full 360-degree turn, so the wax covers the entire votive holder. Only one complete roll is needed. 8. Use a pencil or something long to transfer votive holder to a clean sheet of wax paper to dry.
