UNIFORM GUIDE

WEAR WITH PRIDE

Hi there,

I’m delighted to introduce our updated PGL Uniform Guide.

We’ve listened to your feedback and have made some adjustments to the range to better suit the requirements of each role, be more inclusive and improve the fit.

Colleagues will now be able to wear their own trousers and we have provided some further guidelines on this to give better clarity.

To help you keep your uniform looking great, we’ve added some washing guidance, along with some standards of appearance policy information, so do check out these sections within the guide.

We hope you enjoy your uniform and will wear it with pride and confidence.

TROUSER GUIDANCE

We’ve listened to your feedback and are pleased to advise that all colleagues (outside of catering and maintenance*) can now wear their own trousers and shorts, following these guiding principles:

• Trousers need to be fit for the work you are carrying out and suitable for the outdoor environments in which we operate

• Trousers should be navy, black or grey where possible and feature minimal branding

• Thick sports leggings are acceptable but please ensure these are appropriately professional

• Underwear should never be visible

• Shorts should be an appropriate length, and functional as outdoorwear

• Office colleagues are welcome to wear suitable office attire, including skirts & dresses (to the knee) or smart trousers

• Footwear can be as bright as you like but please make sure it’s appropriate for your role, offering cover where required

• When choosing appropriate trousers/shorts to wear for your role, ask yourself do they display a good reputation of the brand

NEED TO KNOW

Exceptions to the rule

There are always roles, or situations that require something different. It might be a hybrid role or a specific need to vary your kit. Please speak to your line manager if this applies to you; our P&C team will be able to assess the requirement and order extra garments where necessary.

Total clothing rights

We’ve improved the fit options in our range by including more garments in both ‘men’s’ and ‘women’s’ fit, in a wide range of sizes. Please choose whatever fit you feel most comfortable in.

Choices, choices, choices

We’ve added more fits and fabric choices for the tees and polos. Each role will have varying options; please make your selections carefully using the Kit List in this guide, especially for tees and polos.

LOOKING AFTER YOUR UNIFORM

WASHING GUIDANCE

All of our colleague washing machines can be set to wash at 30 degrees, which is both great for the environment and also great for ensuring your uniform stays in great shape. Some items will lose their waterproof effectiveness if washed incorrectly, so please look after them and follow washing instructions which can be found on the garment label.

Waterproofing spray will be provided for re-coating waterproof garments where required.

Wash: These symbols will help you decide if your clothing is safe to wash in your washing machine, and which setting, and what temperature you should use.

Drying: In addition to washing and ironing, the laundry process also includes drying. To prevent your garment from shrinking or becoming misshapen when drying, you can find a number of helpful symbols on the fabric care label, informing you of the most best way to dry your clothes without causing any damage to the fabric.

Ironing: Ironing sy,bols depicted with dots inside representing the maximum temperature that you should use to iron the garment.

STANDARDS OF APPEARANCE

• All colleagues will be provided with an ID badge. This must be worn and be visible at all times whilst you are at work, as well as on centre outside of working time, so you are easily identifiable to our guests.

• You must not drink alcohol whilst wearing PGL uniform, or wear PGL uniform in on-site bars whilst off duty.

• We will provide protective clothing for some roles, and these should be worn whilst carrying out duties and whenever required by law.

• To protect our guests from safeguarding risks, you must not sell any item of uniform, dispose of the uniform yourself or allow any other person to wear your uniform.

• Some tasks within your role may have some safety restrictions which means you will not be able to wear jewellery, nail polish, false nails etc. You will be provided with specific details throughout your training.

• Your uniform remains the property of PGL at all times, and at the end of your contract you must return all uniform in clean condition.

• If you lose or neglect your uniform, you will need to pay for replacement items.

APPENDIX FAQS

Q. What data do you require from me?

A. You will need to enter your name, department and the centre you are contracted at (not your training centre). You will also need to supply your sizes for the garments you are ordering.

Q. How will I know what to order?

A. Please use this guide to help make your selections. It provides an overview of the garments for each department, as well as allowances for your role. When you register, you tell us what department you are working for. When you select a garment on the portal, this will tell you a maximum number that you are entitled to.

Q. How will I know which size to order?

A. There is a handy size guide which will help you decide which sizes are best for you. We have specific garments for ‘men’s’ and ‘women’s’ fits but you should select the fit you feel most comfortable in.

Q. Am I able to pay for additional garments?

A. Unfortunately, you are unable to pay for additional items. The allocations per role are deemed to be sufficient to allow for you to carry out your duties, however, if you do have a concern, please speak to the PGL Resourcing team on 0333 321 21 23

Q. What do I do with my uniform when I finish my contract?

A. When you finish your contract you should leave your uniform with your centre, even if you are planning on returning for the following season. Your uniform will be kept safe while you are away.
