SO

much more

a holiday

than just

so many ways, our holidays are a very special kind of fun. u In For a start, they’re real adventures that are just for children. They get to spend the school holidays trying amazing adventure activities, laughing with new friends and old, in the place that matters most – the great outdoors. It’s a chance to gain new experiences and a whole lot of self-confidence. Challenge themselves. And yes, enjoy some independence and grow up a bit too.

You’ve got to spread your wings before you can fly. For most, it’s their first time staying away from home and that’s what makes a PGL holiday special too. We understand that taking that first step as a parent can be daunting but we know the rewards are worth it. That’s why we believe ‘adventure matters’ and why we’d love you and your children more than ever to join the adventure in 2019.

See it, hear it, explore it for yourself. The best way to understand what makes us special is to come and visit one of our centres yourself. Because that’s asking a lot, we’ve created this brochure and our website packed with information, photos, videos and virtual tours to bring what we do to life.

our

NOT SO

secret

formula

experiences for every child, every time. u Unique Describing what our holidays consist of isn’t simple. We don’t have a clever buzzword to describe it in a nutshell because our formula creates unique experiences for every child, every time. We’ve been perfecting our recipe for a long time and like most good things it’s not so secret. It’s all about the things that, as parents, we know count for so much – quality, experience, care and common sense. Our holidays are all about bringing children together in small groups to socialise, learn from each other and share the adventure.

Our staple ingredients: • We build high quality, safe adventure centres, dedicated to children, using only top quality equipment. • We employ a specially trained, motivated and compassionate team with specialist activity instructors. • We offer exciting and inventive holidays, without a dull moment from dawn ‘til dusk. • We include almost everything you need in the price.

Our holidays aren’t just special – they are exceptional! We believe we have a winning formula, offering terrific outcomes for children and reassurance and value for parents.

IT’S

in

our dna think it’s important that you know who we are and u We what we’re all about. We’ve been pioneers of children’s adventure for over 60 years and we set the standards in what we do. We’ve welcomed thousands of schools, groups, families and children to PGL over the years and given every single guest an adventure to remember. In fact, last year more than 350,000 children came to our centres and that number is growing all the time.

Safety is our number 1 priority. We always put safety at the heart of everything we do. We invest heavily in our adventure centres, to ensure we are leading the field with the best quality equipment, activities and safety gear you’ll find. We’re constantly developing and expanding all of our centres, making sure every aspect exceeds your expectations.

First class reputation. We are proud of everything we do. Whether it’s our highly trained staff that will teach your children new skills and care for their wellbeing, or offering the best choice of centres and activities, PGL standards are second to none. We believe in children and understand just how much adventure matters in life. These deeply held values have stayed with us since we were founded in 1957 and we don’t intend to change them any time soon.

BUILT WITH

adventure in

u

mind

Adventure awaits… go and find it! Our centres are in a class of their own. Each one is completely unique yet they all have one great thing in common – they are built specifically for children’s adventures.

Spoilt for choice. Our holidays all take place at centres across the UK and France. There’s a whole range to choose from including our traditional countryside camps, waterside retreats, woodland hideaways or centres by the beach! Some centres are small and homely, perfect for our younger guests, whilst others are much bigger with hundreds of acres of outdoor space to explore! All of them are filled with purpose-built activity bases, including climbing towers, zip wires, giant swings and lots more. We strive to make each and every child feel comfortable and safe when they visit us. We employ a fully qualified and committed team to run our centres and we only use the highest standard safety equipment on each activity we offer.

WHAT A

difference makes a year

holidays and age groups are designed to suit every child. u Our Every year we welcome thousands of children to our adventure centres and it’s fair to say, we understand more than most how different every child is and what a huge difference just one year can make.

That’s why we work in small age groups that create good group dynamics, but also allow for the youngest or oldest in each age range to overlap adjacent age groups, so you can choose what’s best suited to your children. It’s also why we’ve developed over 20 different holidays to suit every interest, passion and personality.

Our age groups:

H

H

7-10

10-13

We keep an extra eye on all our youngest guests but they are usually the most reluctant to leave by the end! We encourage more self-reliance in our busiest age group, with the widest choice of holidays.

H

13-16

As you’d expect, our teams allow more freedom but also know where to draw the boundaries too.

H

H

On our overseas adventures we operate slightly wider age 9-13 13-17 groups so even more kids can enjoy the fun!

Read on to explore our holidays (p14-29) and centres (p30-45).

Small and friendly, but with loads of space for activities. It’s a beautiful old mansion house (where Lord Hereford once lived) and the unique, private gardens and grounds once attracted wealthy Victorian visitors to sit and picnic by the stream. There’s a lot more going on than picnics today and now its gardens are packed with adventure activities! We also use the facilities at PGL Llwyn Filly, a small, picturesque period property only one mile away in a private setting with its own lake.

What facilities are there? In the gardens and grounds of Tregoyd House there are challenge courses, an abseil and climbing tower, trapeze, Jacob’s ladder, rifle range and an archery field. Down the road next to PGL Llwyn Filly is ‘The Puddle’, our very own lake where you take part in watersports including kayaking and raft building.

What’s the accommodation like? At Tregoyd House, all the accommodation is in the mansion house. It’s in multi-bedded rooms with bunk beds, so you will make friends in no time. Showers and toilets are located close to the rooms. (Please note that in summer guests on our Horse Riding Pro holiday are sometimes accommodated together in multi-bedded rooms at PGL Llwyn Filly).

TEAm SPIRIT PGL Kids say it’s ‘the staff’ that make PGL holidays the best! Only the best will do

The PGL Team

Fully trained and highly skilled, it’s our team that make PGL holidays so popular and successful parents and children tell us so!

PGL Holiday Consultants – at your call

To maintain our standards of excellence we select only the very best of the thousands of candidates who apply every year. We assess them according to their previous work with children, entertainment skills, personality and activity qualifications and experience. Naturally all staff members are DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service, formerly CRB) checked. Additionally, all new appointments are on probation for their first two to four weeks, and continually assessed to ensure they meet our high standards. PGL’s commitment to staff training and development is unsurpassed. Our staff must be adept at bringing out the very best in children, while keeping them safe and happy - we ensure each one is trained and equipped with the skills, knowledge and attitude to give your children the time of their lives.

TOTAL PEACE OF mIND We put safety first, so you can relax. You can trust us to take your children’s welfare and happiness very seriously indeed.

Our Holiday Consultants are second to none and the first point of contact for you. Nearly all of them are parents too and know our centres well, so are best placed to answer any questions you may have and help you make the right choices when booking.

they will be their main daily contact. Groupies get the lazy bones up in the morning, make sure everybody knows where they should be, encourage regular use of soap and toothpaste, eat meals with the children, organise wacky evening entertainments, and boogie with them at the disco - the children simply love them! PGL Instructors

We get to know many PGL parents well and look forward to speaking to them several times a year. So please give us a call on 0333 321 2114. We’d love to hear from you!

Trained instructors take responsibility during activity sessions. We are very proud of our excellent safety record and insist our instructors enforce the highest possible safety standards. Where an appropriate formal qualification exists, instructors must hold it. Where no recognised qualifications exist, we carry out verified in-house training and assessments.

PGL Group Leaders – our famous ‘Groupies’!

PGL Centre Managers

On arrival at our UK centres, your child will join a small group of similarly aged children in the care of a Group Leader (or ‘Groupie’). Our Groupies are exceptional people, chosen for their ability to communicate with children and look after them. Responsible for your child’s social welfare,

Unlike many organisations, all PGL Centre Managers are on permanent, full-time contracts, having worked their way through PGL’s own career system. They set the tone at their centres, and ensure every guest has an amazing experience.

Our staff maintain the highest safety standards and we’re regulated and licensed by all the appropriate bodies. Our stringent standards fully comply with the DFE (Department for Education) guidelines. We follow national guidelines and undertake fully comprehensive risk assessments. Our outstanding training programmes ensure all our staff place safety first. In this environment, children are not just safe, they feel safe. So they can really enjoy every new experience and their confidence can flourish.

PGL are registered with and adhere to the regulations of the following organisations: • Adventure Activity Licensing Authority • OFSTED Inspection • British Activity Providers Association (BAPA) • Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) For a full list of all our licensing regulations and bodies and which activities they apply to please visit our website.

We’re always looking to make your life easier so we’ve developed ‘MyPGL’ where, once you’ve made a booking, you can log in and access all the relevant information you need, 24/7. Here you’ll find booking confirmation, pre-travel information, centre directions and the online forms you need to fill in before your child’s arrival.

FAQs Good to know What to bring Once you have made a booking, it’s important you read your essential information pack which you can download from your MyPGL account as it contains lots of useful information, including a detailed list of what to bring.

Mobile phones We recognise that most parents value their children having a mobile phone with them on their holiday. We are happy for children to have a phone and to use them in situations where practical and safe to do so. They can also be handed in to our staff for safe-keeping. We cannot accept responsibility for any loss of or damage to such devices and we advise that you have adequate mobile phone insurance cover in place. Misuse of mobile devices, viewing or sharing inappropriate material, abuse of social media and any conduct that could be deemed as bullying (including theft or damage to others property)

Parent Guide

could result in your child being sent home from their holiday.

Medical & emergency details When you book, we need to know some important personal information about your children and we will always treat this sensitively and respect confidentiality. This includes (but is not limited to): • Personal details – age, date of birth etc. • Relevant medical history/issues, including disabilities and behavioural conditions • Dietary requirements/preferences • Swimming ability • Any other factors that might impact on the success of the holiday, or safety of your child and others whilst on holiday. We are able to support children requiring regular medication that can be self-administered. We do need to know details and you will need to complete a form of instruction that will be provided and bring this along with you on arrival. We use specific small group staffing ratios and specialist equipment, to ensure all our care standards are upheld and to be as inclusive as possible, in the settings we operate in. Our holidays also require a minimum level of selfreliance. Therefore, it’s important to note that we are not able to accommodate children in all

circumstances. This would typically be where a child’s needs require a staffing level beyond those we work to, or the use of equipment, qualifications and facilities that our settings are not reasonably able to provide.

Passports & documentation For overseas holidays, please note that it is your responsibility to ensure that your child has his/her own passport that is in date for the required travel destination and (if necessary) visa documentation.

Swimming Our watersports activities require a level of ‘water confidence’, which is defined as: • Ability to duck under water • Confidently swim 25 metres* in a life jacket or buoyancy aid without signs of panic. *50 metres for Surfing holiday, page 24.

Rooming requests Please note that our sleeping arrangements both in the UK and on overseas holidays are single sex. It is not possible for brothers and sisters to share accommodation. Where possible we will always try to accommodate rooming requests where children are of the same sex, age group and on the same holiday but they cannot be guaranteed.

BOOKING INFORMATION Book online or over the phone Visit www.pgl.co.uk/holidays, choose your selected holiday and follow our easy online checkout process. Alternatively, call us on 0333 321 2114 and speak to one of our friendly and knowledgeable Holidays Consultants.

Payment methods ✔ Card – We accept all debit and credit cards except American Express. ✔ Cheque – Payable to ‘PGL Travel Limited’. ✔ Bank transfer – Go online for details. ✔ Childcare Vouchers or Tax Free Childcare Scheme – Call us or

Deposits For bookings made over the phone, once we have checked availability, we will take a non-refundable deposit plus insurance premium if booked (paid by debit/credit card in order to secure a place). Bookings online will require full payment when you book. For more information please visit our website. • £45.00 per child for up to four nights (UK) • £75.00 per child for seven nights or more (UK) • £99.00 per child for French holidays

Off-site activities & excursions The majority of our activities take place on centre, apart from a small selection of our Specialist holidays with booked excursions or occasionally when we take older children off site for evening ‘ents’. Where settings allow, the group will remain together with an accompanying adult, but where this is not possible, children will be in small groups of no less than three and our staff will remain in designated contact/meeting points.

Catering We work with leading catering organisations to ensure our food is the best. A vegetarian option is always available and we can accommodate most special dietary requirements. Please see a sample menu on our website.

Sensible bedtimes Even the fittest children feel tired after a full day of activities, so we try to insist on sensible bedtimes for your child’s age range to ensure a good night’s sleep. Exact times may vary from centre to centre but are typically 20.30 for 7–10 year olds, 21.30 for 10–13’s and 22.30 for 13–17 year olds.

Night time supervision Once ‘lights out’ has been called at our UK centres, our night duty staff take over. They reassure the anxious, encourage the high spirited

to settle and continue their vigil until all is quiet. Bedroom doors are locked but can be opened from the inside. Night time staff will be patrolling the centre at night and can be contacted at any time.

Discipline & responsibility Living alongside and mixing with other children is a valuable part of the holiday experience and we try to ensure that no one feels left out. We keep a close eye and will act on possible bullying or any other anti-social behaviour. Our experience over many years means that this is rarely a problem but please tell your children if they feel picked on, they should inform their group leader or any other member of staff immediately. When necessary we will be firm with children who are jeopardising the enjoyment of others and will not tolerate any such behaviour. If problem behaviour is persistent or serious, we will contact the parent or guardians concerned to decide on further action. No refunds are considered for any child sent home for behavioural reasons. Please ensure you visit our website ‘parent guide’ and read our terms and conditions – ‘your responsibility’ for full details.

Smoking & alcohol Consumption of alcohol by guests is banned on any PGL holiday, whether on site or off-site in the

UK and abroad, even if local law might allow for some ages. Smoking is strongly discouraged but bans have previously resulted in unauthorised smoking in dangerous areas, so we only allow it strictly for 16 or 17 year olds with prior parental consent and in designated safe ‘smoking areas’ away from other guests. This also extends to the use of E-cigarettes and vapourisers. Breaking either policy is a serious issue for which any guest concerned would be sent home at their parent/guardians expense, without a refund.

Contacting your child For some children, being away from home may initially be disconcerting. This is natural and to be expected. Our staff are fully trained in the sensitive skill of identifying and dealing with children’s concerns and worries. You will be able to call the centre directly during your child’s holiday and arrange to speak to them or we can pass on any messages. We do ask you to try not to call the centre excessively to speak to your child, as particularly during the day they will be out participating in activities, therefore making it difficult to arrange contact or relay messages.

BE INSURED Key information It is important that everyone travelling with PGL has holiday insurance. Experience has shown that standard policies do not cover all our activities, e.g. motorsports, abseiling and rifle shooting. For your protection, therefore, we have arranged a special policy with Union Reiseversicherung AG. PGL insurance includes the following benefits as long as claims fall within the terms and conditions of the policy: • Cover for all activities organised by PGL • Personal accident up to £25,000 Some benefits are reduced for under 16s • Medical and other expenses up to £5 million for overseas holidays and up to £10,000 (other expenses only) for the UK • Cancellation charges up to the cost of the holiday (maximum £5,000) • Luggage up to £1,500. Single item £250. Valuables limit £250 • Personal money up to £200 • Personal liability up to £1 million • Curtailment of activities at £20 per day in summer or a pro rata refund of the ski pack (lessons, lift pass and ski school) in winter (both up to a maximum of £240) • Delay compensation, up to the invoice total for abandonment of overseas holidays. Compensation after 12 hours delay is £20 Full details of our insurance cover can be found on our website or can be sent to you upon request. Please note that cancellation cover comes into force when you pay the appropriate premiums. One premium will cover two or more consecutive holiday weeks per child. Non consecutive weeks require separate premiums. Most of the above sections are subject to £35 excess (up to £250 excess for legal expenses). Please read the Key Insurance Facts over the page. Clients not prices purchasing our insurance will be asked frozen to complete an Insurance Indemnity for 2019 Form issued on the advice of ABTA. UK & EIRE RESIDENT

KEY FACTS: We would like to explain some of the definitions and features of our insurance cover for you. Cooling off period: Your policy contains a 14 day cooling off period, during which you can cancel the policy and get a refund, if you have a justifiable reason for being dissatisfied with the cover it provides. Pre-existing health conditions: If any participant, or any other person on whom the travel plans depend, has ever had treatment for any heart condition or circulatory condition, a stroke or high blood pressure, any breathing condition (including asthma), any type of cancer, any type of diabetes, any psychological condition, any existing injury or other serious or recurring medical condition, any condition requiring long term, prescribed medication or if you or they are receiving or awaiting investigation for any medical condition, you must advise the insurers via PGL to see if additional cover is available. Insurers reserve the right to impose terms. You will receive confirmation in writing of their decision. Conditions, Exclusions & Terms: Conditions and exclusions will apply to individual sections of your policy while general exclusions, conditions and warranties will apply to the whole policy. Property Claims: These claims are paid based on the value of the goods at the time you lose them and not on a “new for old” or replacement cost basis. Policy Limits: Most sections of the policy have limits on the amount the insurer will pay under that section. Some sections also include other specific limits, for example for any one item or for valuables in total. You are advised to check your policy if you intend taking expensive items with you, which we advise against. Policy Excesses: Under most sections of the policy, claims will be subject to an excess. This means that you will be responsible for paying the first part of the claim. The amount you have to pay is called the excess. Reasonable Care: You need to take all reasonable care to protect yourself and your property as if you were uninsured, otherwise your claim may be refused. Complaints: The insurance policy includes a Complaints Procedure which tells you what steps you can take if you wish to make a complaint. Dangerous Sports or Pastimes: If you are going to take part in dangerous sports or pastimes where there is a risk of injury, check that your policy covers you. All activities officially organised and implemented by PGL are covered. Policy Document: This gives full details of what is not covered and conditions of the cover. A copy will be sent to you on booking, or earlier on request. Law: The Insurance Policy will be subject to the law of England and Wales unless otherwise agreed. Please ensure you read your insurance policy carefully. Failure to comply with the terms and conditions of the policy may result in cover being restricted. PGL are an Appointed Representative of Fogg Travel Insurance Service Limited who with the Insurers are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.

THE SMALL PRINT Important please read Please take time to read the following terms and conditions carefully. They are the basis of the contract between yourself and PGL. A contract will exist between us when we have taken your booking and required payment. You will then automatically receive a confirmation/invoice detailing exactly what has been booked. If you think anything is incorrect please contact us straight away. All correspondence will be with the person named on the confirmation invoice who accepts the following conditions on behalf of all participants. The contract between us is governed by English Law and any dispute will be dealt with under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Any monies paid to an appointed agent will be held by the agent for PGL until they are paid over to PGL. Your final payment and travel tickets The balance of your account is payable not later than 12 weeks before holiday commencement. If payment is not made by the due date, we reserve the right to advise you of the cancellation of your holiday booking and make a cancellation charge at the appropriate rate. Full payment must accompany bookings made within 12 weeks of departure. The Package Travel, Package Holidays, and Package Tours Regulations 1992 require us to provide security for the monies that you pay for the holiday booked from this brochure and for repatriation in the event of our insolvency. We provide this security by way of a bond held by ABTA. Changing your booking or travel If, after you have confirmed your booking, you wish to make any alterations, an administration charge of £25 will be made per amendment. Any such amendment may be telephoned to PGL in the first instance but must be confirmed in writing immediately thereafter by emailing holidays@pgl.co.uk. However, if a major amendment is requested less than 8 weeks prior to the starting date of the holiday, we reserve the right to treat your request as a cancellation and charge the appropriate cancellation fee as detailed below. In order that all our staff have the correct information we cannot accept additions or alterations to travel arrangements within 7 days of the commencement of the holiday. If we are forced to make changes, PGL will do its utmost to provide all of the arrangements that have been confirmed,

but must reserve the right to alter or cancel any activities, accommodation or other arrangements, including escorted travel, if operational, weather or other considerations so dictate. If we have to make a major change to your holiday, we will offer a suitable alternative if available, or 100% refund, if we are not able, in our opinion, to offer an alternative that is sufficiently comparable. Compensation will be paid as below if we have to make a major change to your holiday within 8 weeks of holiday commencement, unless the change is due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to war, riot, civil commotion, act of God, industrial dispute, Government action, epidemic, disease, adverse weather or natural disaster. • 56-29 days – 10% of holiday price • 28-15 days – 15% of holiday price • 14 days or less – 25% of holiday price The price of your holiday is subject to surcharge due to unforeseen increases in fuel costs, Government action such as increases in VAT or any other Government imposed increases or adverse currency exchange rate variations. Even in this case, we will absorb an amount equivalent to 2% of the holiday price which excludes insurance premiums and any amendment charges. Only amounts in excess of this 2% will be surcharged but, where a surcharge is payable, there will be an administration charge of £1 together with an amount to cover agents’ commission where relevant. If this means paying more than 10% of the holiday price, you will be entitled to cancel your holiday with a full refund of all money paid except for any premium paid to us for holiday insurance and amendment charges. Should you decide to cancel because of this, you must exercise your right to do so within 14 days from the issue date printed on the surcharge advice.

Design - Precision Creative and Media • 01329 221616 • www.precisioncreativeandmedia.co.uk

The prices of our holidays abroad have been fixed according to an exchange rate of 1.112 euros to £1 as published in the Financial Times on 29th November 2018. You will be notified 8 weeks before departure if a surcharge is due on your holiday. Cancelling your holiday or travel If you find that you cannot take your PGL holiday and have to cancel, for whatever reason, your deposit will be forfeited to cover our costs. If we receive your written cancellation within 56 days of your holiday commencement date, higher cancellation charges will be made, as follows: • 56 to 29 days prior to commencement – 30% of the total holiday price. • 28 to 15 days prior to commencement – 45% of the total holiday price. • 14 to 1 days prior to commencement – 100% of the total holiday price. • On or after the commencement date – 100% of the total holiday price. The date of effective cancellation is calculated on the day of receipt of written advice in our Reservations Department. Travel costs are forfeited unless written cancellation is received more than 14 days prior to holiday commencement. Your PGL holiday insurance may cover the cost of cancellation. If in doubt don’t hesitate to contact our brokers, Fogg Travel Insurance Services, on 01623 631 331. Any compliments, complaints or feedback If there is any problem with the holiday, we want to put this right for you as soon as possible. Please ask your child to mention it to their Group Leader/Courier/Centre Manager straightaway. Alternatively, we will be pleased to make a phone available, so your child can speak with you if this is preferable. We would ask you to make immediate contact with either the centre or Head Office in Ross-

on-Wye. If we have been unable to find a solution, you have 28 days from the end of your holiday to write to us to explain your grievance. Please email feedback@pgl.co.uk. If you are still unhappy, your complaint may be referred to arbitration under a special scheme arranged by the Association of British Travel Agents in conjunction with the Institute of Arbitrators. This scheme provides for a simple and inexpensive method of arbitration on documents alone, with restricted liability on a customer in respect of costs. The scheme does not apply to claims for an amount greater than £5,000 per person. There is also a limit of £25,000 per booking. Neither does it apply to claims which are solely or mainly in respect of physical injury or illness or the consequences of such injury or illness. The scheme can however deal with compensation claims involving minor injury or illness, subject to a limit of £1,000 per person. Application for arbitration must be made within 9 months of return from holiday. Further details can be supplied by ABTA on request. Their address is: 30 Park Street, London SE1 9EQ. Our responsibility PGL accepts responsibility for those elements of the holiday arrangements which are under our direct control and for the acts and/ or omissions of our employees, agents, subcontractors and suppliers. Except as set out below, no liability is accepted for personal illness, injury or death. We do accept responsibility for any personal illness, injury or death which results from the negligent (as the word is understood in the English Law) acts or omissions of any servant or agent, or any supplier, working on our behalf in the provision of services or facilities to you and whilst acting within the scope of their employment. Please note, however, that we do not accept liability for any air or sea carriers whose individual conditions of carriage apply and are often subject to international agreements. We cannot be held responsible for the failure or inability of any equipment or computer programme to recognise or correctly interpret or process any date as the true or correct date, or to continue to function correctly beyond that date. We cannot be held responsible for the loss of enjoyment or additional expenses due to delays or changes in any travel arrangements or other services which are caused by circumstances amounting to force majeure, such as, but not limited to war, riot, civil commotion, act of God, Government action, epidemic, disease, natural disaster, industrial dispute or adverse weather conditions. We can only be liable for the provision of special requests where we have confirmed their availability in writing. Should you or any member of your party have the misfortune to suffer illness, injury or death during the period of your holiday, arising out of an activity which does not form part of the arrangements made by us, we shall, where appropriate, and subject to our reasonable discretion and prior agreement, give you and your family every help that we can by way of initial assistance, including initial legal costs associated there with, up to a maximum value of £5,000 per booking. You must request such assistance within 90 days from the date of the misadventure and in the event of there being a successful claim for costs against a third party or there being suitable insurance policies in force, the costs incurred by PGL shall be recoverable from yourselves. We shall not be liable in respect of any loss of profits, damage to goodwill or any type of special, indirect or consequential loss even if such loss was reasonably foreseeable or we have been advised of the possibility of you incurring the same. Subject to the above and excluding liability for death or personal injury, our liability shall be limited to £15,000 (pounds sterling) in respect to any one claim.

Your responsibility It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to advise PGL of a child’s special diet and swimming ability in writing or by telephone at the time of booking. This information will be reconfirmed to you in our documentation. (All children participating in watersports must be able to meet PGL’s swimming requirements as detailed in the Parent Guide.) It is also the responsibility of the parent/ guardian or other person acting in ‘loco parentis’ to fully advise PGL, when booking, and then follow this up in writing, of any illness, disabilities, social or behavioural problems that a youngster currently has, or has recently experienced, which might affect the youngster or other guests during the PGL holiday. We may request written confirmation from your GP/teacher confirming the suitability of the holiday for your child with particular reference to such considerations as social compatibility, physical access, successful participation and health and safety. We will naturally treat any personal information sensitively and respect confidentiality. We are committed to making our holidays as accessible to as many guests as possible, however, very occasionally we may not be able to provide the service required and will refund any deposit paid. We reserve the right to exclude any person before or after holiday commencement if important personal details have not been fully declared and/or his/her behaviour is incompatible with the general enjoyment and wellbeing of others. Collection would be entirely at the responsibility and expense of the person acting in ‘loco parentis’ to whom any costs for damage and other expenses incurred would also be charged. No refunds will be considered for any children sent home for behavioural reasons and a 12 month booking exclusion will be applied, any bookings already made for arrival within this period will be cancelled and refunded. Behaviour deemed inappropriate may include (but is not limited to): • Under age buying and consumption of alcohol • Leaving the site unless accompanied by a PGL member of staff • Suspected involvement with illegal drugs • Smoking and using E-cigarettes outside of designated areas and by under 16s • Entering accommodation used by the opposite sex • Theft or illegal activities • Threatening behaviour, bullying, offensive or insulting language to other guests, PGL staff or any other person resident on centre • Anti-social behaviour affecting other guests enjoyment of their holiday • Leaving rooms during the night without a legitimate reason • Deliberately tampering with safety systems (e.g. CCTV, Fire Alarms) • Misuse of mobile devices • Sharing or viewing inappropriate material and abuse of social or other media • Damaging other guests’ property

Data Protection The personal information requested at the time of booking and on subsequent proformas is held on computer and required to allow our employees, agents, sub-contractors and suppliers to provide the promised holiday to our normal high standards. By providing us with the information required for booking you are deemed to accept the above and to have gained consent from the parents of all members of your party to disclose their details to us. At time of booking or requesting a brochure, whichever is sooner you will be asked if you wish to receive future mailings from PGL and/or carefully selected third parties. If you do not wish to receive these mailings, please advise at the time of booking or alternatively write to the PGL Marketing Department, Alton Court, Penyard Lane, Ross on Wye HR9 5GL. Please refer to our website at www.pgl.co.uk for details of our privacy policy.
