letter from the Senior Edition Editor
Seniors,
Congratulations on your graduation and all your scholastic milestones! As the Pepperdine A rmation Statement rightly puts it, “the student, as a person of infinite dignity, is the heart of the educational enterprise”; never have these words been truer than for the Class of 2022.
These seniors are spectacular, with “spectacular” meaning “full of little spectacles.” Pepperdine is full of little spectacles that, together, create such an extraordinary university bursting at the seams with excellency, passion and a determination to succeed.
Pepperdine Graphic Media publishes our annual Senior Edition to commemorate the students who make up the graduating class. Through these tributes, we hope to give you a moment to reflect on the slices of life — the little spectacles — that provide our university with its distinct spirit. When I set out to serve as the editor of the Senior Edition, I had no idea the wonderful number of caring parents I would meet through emails and phone calls, as well as the administrators I would work with side-by-side to ensure our graduates — my friends — were not only acknowledged but properly celebrated. One father, sensing my own stress over schoolwork, prayed for me over the phone.
I hope our Senior Edition, produced by students and for students, is a keepsake for you to look back on in the years to come. It is an honor to be invited into such an important time in these students’ lives. Thank you for allowing Pepperdine Graphic Media to be a part of it.
In true Pepperdinian nature, we celebrate and strive as one.
Bryant Loney (MFA ’22) Senior Edition Editor
