Ability to analyze data or observational patterns to inform instructional work with students. • Experience assisting/teaching reading and math to K through 3rd grade aged students. • Successful experience and ability to work with students with disabilities • Desire to work with students who struggle academically or behaviorally • Ability to follow teacher direction and work cooperatively with a team. • Ability to manage a group of students independently with teacher direction. • Knowledge and experience with reading instruction and research, i.e. balanced literacy, child development, management of behavior, and aspects of acquisition of skills as part of reading. • Acceptable personal habits and conduct. JOB DESCRIPTION: • Assist with daily reading, writing and math goals for individual and small groups of students. • Assist with mixed school curriculum including reading, writing and math. • Assist lead teacher and supporting instruction, curriculum and assessment related to services. • To understand school rules and safety procedures • Role modeling as well as teach positive social behavior • Monitoring student safety, behavior, enforcing rules and regulations • Additional routine duties as assigned by the principal or lead teacher.
