The portfolio can be divided into three parts, THEATER, EXHIBITIONS & EVENTS and URS 127 DESIGN GALLERY. Almost half of these works were done in my spare time, especially the theater performances. As the opening of the portfolio, I try to present a main subject of all, "TO SEE / TO BE SEEN". Like people go to theater for a show, in the theater, the audience to see the show on the stage, and the performers to be seen on the stage. I'm not only want to make the show on the stage, the whole theater must be concerned to let the theater, the show and the audience all in a appropriate role in every single projects. Thus like "DRAMA SCHOOL in TIANMU",the project showed the theater was changing all the time because each shows had themselves most suitable way to display.

After finished these projects, I finally realized that all the works I've done are like products which were contained in a container. Of course, in addition to the productions, I also had to design the containers. Sometimes, the containers also became part of the the productions. Thus in the portfolio, some works can obviously be thought as a production, but some of them can not. But whether they are or not, all I tryed to do was to make each production and container reserved for each other. Finally, the most important of all is the audience. Just like what I mentioned in the first two paragraphs, all the shows were performed for the audience, the products were produced for the shoppers. For me, how to make the audience easily understand the information from projects was such an important part of every works.

INTRODUCTION I created a attention-getting object which was put on a tree located in a crowded crossroad. The seating installation was made of colorful balloons and can accommodate one person inside. When people passed by, they could be attracted attention ,but no one can anticipate that there was one person inside and were watching them in the same time.

In the relation between 'to see' and 'to be seen', I tried to create or develop dramatic stories which only belong to each work with space and to the space itself. And these spaces all be thought as a container which contain all kinds of events, such as exhibitions and activities. Or just like a black box in a theater which contains many performance events.

DRAMA SCHOOL in Tianmu A City Theatre Graduation project Nov 2007 - May 2008 Advisor Wang, Chunghsiung INTRODUCTION "Tis well: I'll have thee speak out the rest soon. William Shakespeare "HAMLET" The project was try to put gather activities and drama lessons into one space. There were tree spots I choose for the basic drama lessons of the drama school. The each spaces combined more then one course. It means there were 11 courses would be held in these three spots. I n m y o p i n i o n , p e o p l e a re a l w a y s t o u c h e d b y performances because of the story which might had been happened around them or somewhere in time. People feel familiar with the stories and the scenes. Thus, the sites of the school were chosen in living environments such as kindergarden, traditional market and park.

The big point of this site was to put a "door" here. The little space was a terrace as a playard in a kindergarden right beside the sidewalk. To aid acting learning, the way the door open or closed is for different course of acting practice.

It's a park with lots of trees. What I have deal with the site is to put plenty columns which have fabric inside. To complement curriculum needs, the fabrics can be pulled out from the columns to be a screen and roll up to storage in the columns.

Since 2008, after graduating from Architecture department of Tamkang University, some friends of mine and I founded a theater group named "The 7 Plays". I play the role of the head of the group. So far, we have produced eight plays and have played over 40 sessions, including one series of plan. Next, I'm going to show what I've done in these plays. In the theater, I arranged all music creation works, and sometimes I was a actress or a graphic designer to design all the handbills, etc. Besides, I also play the role of producer. Most of the time, I feel myself like a warrior, leading my soldiers be brave, be patient to keep going by perseverance.

As the very first play of The 7 plays, we were trying to create a story that is very close to our daily life, life pressure and the social environment we were facing. Because our audience were mostly our friends and families, most of them were in the same age with us. Thus the play were easier touched them and made them finally realized what we were trying to express. And we still believe that when people are chasing the ideal goal, there must someone be there with them to take adventure together.

about STORY There were only two girls and one boy in the play. The story was about three good friends, after graduation for few years, they had come to a cross road and then they had to make a decision. That was not a big deal but when facing the dream and the commitment between friends, people always need to take time to convince themselves and their friends that they were making a right choice. And that was hard as hell in the age of about 25. Actually, that was also the age we were .

In that age, we really did face the situation that confuse us. Maybe we had had some dream when we were younger, but it was that time to confront all the confusions. To make a right decision, though not entirely a good one. The story completely represented young people's friendship, encouragement to each other, and the courage they face the society together.

about SHORT-FILM In this play, we combined the drama and short-film. We used short-film to link between each section. Each short-film were also related to the roles' mind and the relationship between the characters.

the STAGE The stage was set in a dorm which the three roles live in. The furniture on the stage would be changed in different sections. In order to shoot the short-film, we also decorated a real living space just like the scene in the theater.

the MUSIC Cause of the story was as light as our every single day. It was interesting and every matters were like just happened around us. Therefore, the music I created for the play was in jazz as the basis and were natural, relaxed and a little bit casual.

THEATRES in a TRADITIONAL SHOP HOUSE residence project INTRODUCTION This is a 3 years project. Being resident in URS 127 Design Gallery, we did our creations and also performed here, includes "Shi-Qi Tea house","Global Savior", "To Dear Friends", "Inter-view", etc. We expected to more people who might never come to Dadaocheng Taipei would come into this local traditional and closed district. We also hope that because of drama, local residents would feel a little change, like live in a vivid area with fresh air. We are trying our best to inject new life into the old, traditional shophouse, not only for selling but to make the mixed commercial and residential zone showing unprecedented style.

As the most important part of the project "Theater In Traditional Shop House", I tried to create a tradition that every year when you come to Dihua street during Taipei Lunar New Year Festival - the most important period of a year, you can always look forward to the performance Shi-Qi Teahouse played here. We placed a new theater culture in a traditional s h o p h o u s e . We b e l i e v e t h a t t h e a t e r e x i s t s i n various places. Therefore, I had planned a series of performance projects only for URS 127 Design Gallery. And this kind of performance method can be ported to various places after a little bit moderate adjustments and modifications for different spatial qualities to comply with the various types of spatial charm.

1. make the enviroment as theater The background of the story was set as a "tea house", so we shaped the environment into a tea house and there was a show called Happiness Tea playing in the "tea house" frequently. The performance space was in the back yard of a traditional shophouse which is located in a oldest traditional district in Taipei. When people came into the back yard, they were integrated into the theater scene automatically.

in order to let the audience feel closer to the show, there were the five most important points as follow: 1. make the enviroment as theater 2. interesting story 3. unexpected event 4. everyone might be the actor in the show 5. interaction with audience

2. interesting story We hoped that the play within a play called Happiness Tea was an interesting and fun story, like everyday TV series, the plots were continuous for three years. The each was called "Conspiracy", "Dad's Teacup" and "Soul of Tea". There was one popular kind of Taiwan TV series called Taiwanese drama had some common characteristics such as speaking in Taiwanese language, exaggerated performance method as well as the cliched plot, etc. We used these elements to create stories and to shaped roles. The most important things was that all the roles were played by only two actors. We used little symbol things to let the audience tell each role we played. And I was one of these two actors.

3. unexpected event Every time while the show was playing, there were always some events occured to stop the show. For example, the reporters broke into and wanted to interview the boss of the tea house, or the waiters who wanted to be famous keep walking through in front of the stage, etc. These situations eventually would be resolved, and the show would keep going till the end. Of course, all the situations were part of the show.

4. everyone might be the actor in the show We wanted the audience feel that they were really in a tea house. In the tea house, there were waiters serving customers, and they would find the performance playing in the tea house. Probably, they would also think that the homeless who appeared suddenly was really annoying. Finally, they would find out that all these people were playacting. Even the audience sitting next by was possible to be the actor.

5. interaction with audience We hoped that these play were not just simple performances for the audience. We expected to play with all the audience. We broke the fourth wall and invited the audience to join us. Because of there was no boundary between the stage and the auditorium, in the theater, the audience naturally became part of the drama was the funniest part of the show.

To Dear Friends... Inter-View Except Shi-Qi Teahouse, we also continued to make annual performances. And the most important is we not only rehearsed here but also did the play here. Since 2010, we had held two plays here. We always started a new production period in the previous year. We began to decide a new direction of the new performance, to develop a whole new story, to

audition actors, then to meet the designers to discus all the detail in the performance. Then started rehersing the play in the middle of the year and performed at the end of the year. In addition to the producer, I also did the music creation for these two plays. Then in Inter - View, I not only did the music creations, but also playacted in the play.

The play was about a Interview process. People always interview people with surface impression but no one can really know a person by relying on first impression. The scene of the story was in a pub. The boss and the pianist in the bar were hired as interviewers to interview people unexpectedly. Eventually, the candidate would discover the truth, the pianist finally realize this was not a right way to judge a person who really fit the job or not. Then the two decided to fight against the rules of the game.

The most different mode from general exhibitions, is the traditional shophouse was regarded as the origin by "Archi Notation". It means thisV exhibition was meant to highlight the fascinating architectural space itself and to render its historical and cultural value with imaginative approach.By the reinterpretation of the shophouse, to show its extensive changes of timeline. It not only subvert the impression of space, but also the established concept of time.

We attempt to emphasize the traces of time and space are constructed. The historic buildings are not just the container of the exhibition, but also the worth savor exhibits. Architectural graphic was the main presentation way of the space. The par ticular graphic is the common language between architectural designers. A 3-dimensional space can be constructed from points, lines and planes. From technical perspective, those lines always mean a wall or just a furniture in terms of any age. But the real value of these lines not only for recognizing the appearance of a building

but also reacting each period of life and the historical background. Architecture play the biggest role is the living spacehome and no one would doubt of that. In fact, in the process of architectural education, we truly enter into the real architectural design practice was also start from "housing." Living space as the beginning of the show, from the sense of living which was formed with the living room design and decoration of objects of daily life. And that was a kind of declaration to show our basicly attitude about Architecture.

(1) intro - Introduction to Architecture Media - plan, facade: daily life and Ginseng herbal shop By using the basicly architectural vocabulary - plan and elevation, to depict a modern daily living space as the starting of the exhibition, and then connecting with the ginseng herbal shop, the past role URS 127 played. Mixed residential and commercial use are the typical type of traditional shophouse. By juxtaposing these two diverse spaces, from the familiar living space to ginseng herbal shop, people could start to realize what architecture is and to outline the space of URS 127's predecessor. Finally, we are welcome people enter into the fancy story.

(2) courtyard - architectural presentation Medium - section, Scenario simulation: The small space next to courtyard was kitchen. On the wall of courtyard, we drew a section of kitchen with stairs from the original floor rise to higher floor, so that people would have the illusion that there are mezzanine and high ceiling in the small space. The courtyard was the only area can contact with natural sunlight and rain in this type of house. In our imagination, when Dihua street was untapped, there was weedy and grass-grown. So in the courtyard we created a natural scene which was what we imagned about the house used look like.

Following the sequence of the exhibition, in cortyard and worship hall, like the process of architectural education, we were always required to specific show our abstract thought, or to abstract present some specific things. That was a kind of practice of transformation.

(3) The Worship Hall - transformation Media - the reproduction of the senses: the imaging of god The red light on the wall and the scent of incense represented the traditional function and the unique role of this space in past .

(4) theme space - reinterpretation Media - plan and section: the big picture of ARCHITECTURE The final space was tried responding to the beginning of the exhibition. The impression of traditional shophouse was overturned here. Because of the reverse drawings and the objects which were composed in the space, people starting understanding the architectural notation and drawing in ways different from usual.

Reconstruction Its' All About Kuanyin Mountain Exhibition / Activity Hâ&#x2C6;&#x17E;H Design Studio / The 7 Plays INTRODOCTION Tamsui is a historic town face Tamsui River and Kuanyin Mountain. It's development of street was related to the natural terrain. There are diversity of historical and cultural property here in Tamsui. Nowaday, the traditional street is facing the impact of commercial development and tourism. The decline in environmental quality of historical area and river bank is because of the thronging crowd. The project was for creating a cultural messenger, for cultural guide and providing information. Besides, we also needed to plan a theme day, including a tour guiding of development of Tamsui and one performance.

Fuyou Temple Fuyou Temple was once known as Ma-tzu Kong to the Tamsui locals. FuyouTemple was the center of origin of Tamsui Street. The current temple building was built by the townsmen and sea fishermen in 1796, the early years of Tamsui. Fuyou Temple seat to the face of the Tamsui River, connects streets and the riparian, and reflect past life context.

Fuyou Courtyard Fuyou Courtyard, in front of Fuyou Temple, was re-opened recently. It locates a new streets spatial structure and reshapes the spatial sequence of riverbank by connecting spots, streets and new squares along the riverbanks.

New open space Nowadays, there are more and more open spaces lead to riverbank, and are trying to create some space nodes in the parallel street system. It offers tourists a variety itinerary to experience the historical traces.

Material - recycled PET bottles

CULTURE MESSENGER material - recycled PET bottles The CULTURE MESSENGER was a kind of mobile information counter that could provide information about Tamsui's travel information and Tamsui Historical Museum. The design concept was originated from the natural terrain of Tamsui, thus the project showed the unique layers of cultural and natural landscape. Using recycled PET bottles were meant to denote a procedure of rediscovering Tamsui's beauty and historical space. In the other hand, when the messenger were could also provide information

One is the tour guide toward the history of Tamsui, includes western and local beliefs, another is the performance on Fuyou courtyard, and the story was about a development procedure of Tamsui. The performance field reappeared Fuyou courtyard's original function and reconstructed the public sphere with historical scene in a historied space.

INTRODUCTION The city should be the public's collective memory, as Aldo Rossi said. In the past, the definition of the memory are the most spectacular and great buildings. They must be gorgeous, brilliant, and very impressive. Therefore, Taipei 101, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and other public buildings become everyone's memory of Taipei. But that is only a superficial impression which is constructed by the whole community to presente in front of tourists. There are two parts of the project. One is a water exhibition, the other is about photography. We look forward to by these two media, people could renew their focus on the daily environment, the ordinary streets, the park near home, these impression would be more clear on people's mind via such methods such as observation, recording, etc. Gradually, that would be our collective memory.

The emphasis of the exhibition design were Timeline and slice. We made photography and Watercolour to dividing into two interwoven narrative lines in the three-dimensional space.

first space - introduction: There was Introducion of the photography and TSENG-JUNG WU. We presented some Mr. Wu's important events in chronological table.

courtyard - drawing method Wu's drawing tools and one picture of Wu. The picture was about Wu's drawing method, after finishing one painting he would wash it then color it again. worship hall photography and paintings related videos projection.

second space "Slice" as the concept of the watercolor exhibition design, people can see the finished works and also can see the creation process of them. Photographic works were presented as a timeline and were interwoven with watercolor works.

TSENG-JUNG WU., 1942, born in Taichung. Start painting since 1961. Since 1971, he practiced as a architect. The end of his architecture business was in 1991. Then he concentrated on watercolor painting for 20 years. Nowaday, he has created more then 200 works, including more then 90% works of NTU campus existential scene depicting.

He rinse out the pigment on his paintings then he repainted. Every he's amendment would be recorded with camera. For 20 years, he has accumulated thousands of photos.

The creation time of these paintings are more than a decade, the experience of the scenery, environment, mood would be different because of the time changed. While watching these photos, you'll see the flow of time, then you'll realized that these paintings all In an almost perfect state but they seem to have not been finished yet. Each photo is like a piece which was taken from the creative process. Photography shows the beauty of enviroment around us and guiding us to observe their changes and began to converse our attitude to face it with a good grace. Then we can easier experience the rich emotion and the power of these works, not only these photos but the paintings.

INTRODUCTION Urban Regeneration Station "URS127 Design Gallery" is a public space exclusively for activity uses such as design, architecture and art, etc. Tamkang University Incubation Center is also located in which, for nurturing young architects, designers and creators. "URS127 Design Gallery", formerly known as the Taipei Dihua Street, No. 127, Sec shophouse, there were lots of commercial activities among the most important Dihua Street historic district in Taipei. Because of the special traditional atmosphere, many tourists like to come to Dihua street. Dihua Street, No. 127 shophouse is also a more than a century historied building . 2009, Urban Regeneration Office Taipei City started a plan "Urban Regeneration Staition"(reffered to as URS), wanted a different way to promote urban regeneration, URS 127 is part of the plan. In order to clarify the historical experience of Dihua Street, to combine sense of community, URS127 was tramsformed into a public sphere which provide the pubic space for creative activities, exhibitions and an important platform specifically for design, architecture and art creation. In the past, URS 127 was only belonged to private buisness use, but now in our opinion, creation should not be the only secret belong to the creators, but should be the results of the experiences between people's daily life that we should contribute to public.

URS127 is thought as an urban shortcut. There are two kinds of people will come to URS127. One is come for exhibition specially, another is for taking the shortcut then they participate in these performance and exhibitions by accident.

TAI space

127 Square

"TAI" is the abbreviation of "Tamkang Architecture Incubator". As the name implies, the space is for young designers and creators. They are encouraged to participate in creative works, such as urban regeneration, reuse of historical space, etc.

The most important space resource is backyard which is a pocket plaza. There are four mainly categories of activities would be held here. First of all is community activities including leisure activities and specific assembly. Second, teaching activities: teachers and students will use the space for outdoor creation. These creative process and their works all become a vibrant show here. Third, static activities. For example, quite a big-scale lecturers, performances all can be held here. The final one is extended between indoor and outdoor. Sometimes we will organize activities and exhibitions extending from indoor to outdoor.

sky - courtyard It's the most dramatic space in URS 127. Not only the particular spatial scale, relationship between indoor and outdoor creates dramatic changes, extremly change of light also provided further spacial experience.

First year from gingerly beginning getting better Because it was the very beginning, when arrangement the exhibitions, student works are in the majority. As the opening exhibition, "The shiny Dihua Street" which have had shown the student's imaginations of old district in their design and also shown the future sight of this place.

"Pictures of Life" was the first photography show in URS 127. After the show, we started to feel confidence to manage the place and to try some creative practice in the space.

"Vision Wall" is the first project we tryed to create some connections with our neighborhood. We asked first grade students to ask for one item to the nearby residents, then transformed these items into new creations. Then these works were displayed in the backyard.

Second year a gradual change from handmade, digital to sentimental

In this year, I had contacted with many amateur artists and some marginal units. The arrangement of the exhibition gradually shows a kind of order, in the beginning, it was craftsmanlike and reposeful, for example " Archi Notation- Historical Represent" , which narrated the past, the present and the future of URS127 quietly with some simple lines.

Then, it began to be more digital and more lively. For instance, there was a hearing-impaired artist painted rich and vivid scenery with his silent digital pen. Or there were ten former comfort women using their unwell photogrphy skill catching the colorful sights just like our neighbor grannies sharing their gossip cheerfully. For another example, "Digital Dihua Design", with the coldest modern technology, using the living elements of Dihua Street, such as mushrooms, stone lions, fabric, etc, to display a great contrast of feeling.

2011 Finally, it showed taste. For example,"Kids Paint the world" and "The Most Original Emotional Link." These two displayed the state of favorite sincerely for painting. The kids can't be stoped using their painting brush excitedly showing their own imagination and feelings. Ages plus more than 100-year-mother and child, using their own respective brushes to link each other and the lovely alleys they lived in.

Third year selfhood and the living environment concern In this year, the exhibitions' concept mainly displayed a kind of expansion from selfhood to living enviroment concern. And the arangement of sequence in exhibitions also had a thematic focus connecting each. And the most important of all are the following five.

"Lama Life Photography Sow", "O Distance" and "After TKU" completely demonstrated the entirely selfhood. Some of these artists had have through a period of time after graduation, or a grand tour. Through the process of working and living in real world, they had acquainted with themselves once again. With the materials and media: pen painting, photoraphy, furniture design, etc, they rediscovered the distance between themselves and people, and the social relation.

The other two are "Imaging Taipei" and "Fight / Puzzle Dadaocheng." These two are mainly concerned about the larger environment. Not only the living space but the whole city environment. In addition to realizing the background story of people's living environment, people didn't just get the historical awareness, but also to find some lovely retention memory.
