EASE OF FITTING
Mackwell’s 30 years’ experience and reputation for quality in emergency lighting conversion underpin the design and construction of the ELEDD. So reliability and long service life are a given. And to back that up, every module carries a three year guarantee.
User-accessible selection of output current means that each ELEDD can be set to any one of four outputs, allowing a more precise match to the host LED scheme. And for the supplier this means a smaller stock range and reduced costs.
The articulated design enables easy installation through small cut-outs. A wide range of available accessories makes for easy connection into existing, installed wiring looms.

Future Proofing The ELEDD system has built-in adaptability which allows it to keep pace in the rapidly advancing world of LED lighting technology.
Selectable output
Loom converter
The ELEDD system allows lighting OEMs to select the optimum current output to maximise the emergency lumen factor for their specific light engine Adjustable output voltage allows accurate matching to the new generation of voltage LEDs currently in development.
The ELEDD loom converter simplifies connection to non-standard LED wiring looms. Client specific wiring looms are available upon request.

Bespoke looms We can provide bespoke wire looms for most major lighting manufacturers. Our sales team can work alongside buyers, specifiers and their technical staff to achieve the most cost effective and efficient solution to any Emergency LED requirement, whether existing or projected.
Conversions kits We can supply a module and separate battery combination which features the same electronic advantages as the ELEDD but which is suitable for those situations which inhibit the use of the articulated unit. This option is suitable for use within your own luminaire gear tray assembly or remote box solution.

Safety As a member of AG-DALI working group, Mackwell has established itself within the DALI community as a World Leader in DALI emergency lighting products. The ELEDD is available with the option of DALI functionality and when installed in a system which does not include DALI the module will automatically default to standalone Mackwell AutoTest 速

Compatibility The ELEDD system has been extensively tested and proven with the market leaders in LED engines (including Philips, Osram and Xicato) The versatility and adaptability of the ELEDD system makes it suitable for use with most LED products. The concept of the design is to facilitate the easy conversion of mains powered LED’s to work in emergency. The ELEDD has been tested with the most popular LED products available on the market and is adaptable to work with customers bespoke LED offerings.

Optimisation This graph illustrates how the unique user selectable switch settings correspond to the lamphead current across the voltage range. The settings can be changed to optimise the performance of the LED in emergency. As LED’s become more efficient the user can switch the settings to accommodate improved lamphead technology.

Options...
OPTION 1 - ELEDD MODULE & BATTERY Mackwell can supply the module and battery combination for an OEM manufacturer to complete the conversion within their own luminaire assembly. The module is housed in a PC/ABS flame resistant can, with terminal blocks accessible at either end. Please note a Mackwell battery must be purchased with the driver.
PAGE 10
OPTION 2 - ARTICULATED UNIT The articulated design made of flame retardant PC/ABS; which includes module and battery has been a standard product offering from Mackwell for many years. We have expanded this design to the new ELEDD range. The articulated unit allows the driver and battery to be easily placed through a small ceiling aperture with limited space. The design can be used as a conversion kit or as a standalone unit to drive a high power lamphead in an emergency.
OPTION 3 - MULTI BOX Our experience in emergency lighting conversion has made us aware of the challenges experienced when connecting an emergency driver at site. The ELEDD Multibox is the solution. Manufactured from durable flame-retardant PC/ABS plastic, the multi box contains an easily accessible battery and terminal blocks. The multi box has a cross section profile of just 86mm and this allows it to be easily installed through most lamphead apertures.

SIDE FIXING CLIPS
Mackwell offer LEDs in a wide variety of formats, to help you obtain precisely the best LED for your luminaire.
To make conversion of mainstream LED products easier, we can supply standard wiring looms with your order.
The side fixing clips, which are easily attached to both ends of the module can, allow the ELEDD to be side mounted and secured to luminaire assembly.
Choose between red and green or bi-colour for DALI Autotest products.

OPERATION (NON-AUTOTEST VARIANTS ONLY) Connection of the unswitched supply will start the battery charging. The battery and mains supply should be left un-interrupted for 24 hours to ensure that the battery is fully charged and capable of providing 3 hours emergency duration. The LED indicator will be permanently illuminated, showing that the battery is being charged. If the LED indicator is not illuminated, check battery connections.

TEST SWITCH
AUDIBLE ALARM
LED INDICATOR
Emergency operation of the module can be tested by pressing and holding a low voltage test switch if fitted. The switch should be a momentary push-button with N/O contacts minimum rating 10Vdc, 30mA.
An audible alarm will sound if a fault is found during test and will continue to give 3 beeps every 35 minutes until the fault is rectified and the unit is reset. Once a /D1 variant has received a valid DALI command, the sounder will be disabled.
A range of indicator LEDs are available in diffused or clear high intensity, with or without a fitted rubber bezel or plastic clip and with various lead lengths. /D1 variants should be used with a bi-colour LED. Non-AutoTest variants can be used with single or bi-colour LEDs but will only illuminate with one colour.
