HELLO FASHION COMMUNITY, How does one explain the work of real talent? I have taught design for almost 40 years, and I still find myself searching for those words that capture the talents of our students. The best way to explain it is by giving you inside access and allowing the designs to speak for themselves. I am excited to present the Jefferson 2020 Fashion Design Lookbook to celebrate and honor the work of our talented Senior Fashion Designers, supported by an equally hard-working and creative faculty and staff. This Lookbook highlights the creativity and talents in each of the designs of our students. Fashion is an ever-changing medium. To excel, students need to learn about design and sewing principles and also must develop perseverance, adaptation, professionalism and collaboration. The abilities most vital to the fashion industry today are evidenced in all of the work presented here. These students are the future of the fashion design industry. Take a moment now to learn about who they are, what inspires them and how they translate their ideas into their wonderful designs. Be sure to take the opportunity to visit the links to their portfolios for a complete insider look at their accomplishments that extend beyond the pages of this Lookbook. To the Fashion Design Class of 2020, your Jefferson Fashion Design family are proud of you and wish you great success in your future. You have the skills, insights and drive that any company would be honored to have as part of their team.
Now, go look and enjoy for yourselves! Designedly yours,
MICHAEL J. LEONARD, MAEd, MSEd,IDSA Dean, School of Design and Engineering Kanbar College of Design Engineering and Commerce Thomas Jefferson University
