The year has already reached its half way mark. An index of how fast time has sped by. The year has been busy, and both Anna and I have been hard pressed just getting through the day with its innumerable things to be done. The number of our patients attending the hospital continue to increase. We have performed over hundred surgeries more than last year. We have been called to do all this with less doctors than we have had earlier. We can only say we find His grace sufficient for all things. We have praise points and answers to prayer for which we are grateful: 1. The ambulance service, called HOPELINE is now functional. It is the first of its kind here, a fully equipped critical care ambulance capable of transporting a ventilated patient to our next referral centre in Chandigarh, nine hours away by road. Grant Campbell is currently training a pool of staff to man this ambulance. The HOPELINE has made many life saving trips already. 2. A senior Obstetrician and Gynaecologist will be joining us in August. Dr. Saroj Chaudhary was previously the head of department of Obstetrics in CMC Ludhiana. We are so very grateful for this timely answer to prayer. We also look forward her developing and taking this service forward. There is no obstetrician around northwards for three hundred miles. We do hope to initiate and start our building project at last this year. Plans are being scrutinized and we hope to have the groundbreaking soon. We thank the EMI (Engineering Ministry International) and Mr. Jim Backes and Mr. Jack Dyer who will be helping with this project.
