Starfox 64 3D It’s back to the future for Fox McCloud and co as this classic N64 title gets the 3D rework. It’s the perfect partner for the 3DS too, armed with the classic barrel-rolling Arwings, smart bombs and laser blasters as you battle the evil Andross across a graphically impressive update of the Starfox galaxy. One of the few titles to really benefit from the sense of depth offered by the 3DS system, it also includes gyro handling and a new multiplayer battle mode, with your mate’s videoed faces tagged to each craft so you can witness their tears of defeat! phil dudman

Driver San Francisco A welcome return for the Driver franchise – time to strap in the clichés and fasten your seatbelts! In a vastly updated, visually glistening new chapter, John Tanner emerges from a brutal crash to go undercover in the Cisco underworld and take out Jericho, a mob boss with a grip of fear on the city. Thrilling handling, stunts, challenges, film-quality animation and some seriously nice wheels compliment a wealth of missions and maniacal multiplayer fun. Better still, the ‘shift’ feature allows you to map-scan and take over civilian vehicles with Agent Smith-style coolness! pd

Radio 1 Weekend may have been and gone, but the gossip keeps coming... n Sven Väth had over 50 clubbers follow him after his set at Cocoon to a small café, in the hopes he was leading them to a rumoured secret afterparty. No such luck – he was just grabbing some breakfast before going home. n A plane from Ibiza to Manchester had to make an emergency landing in Majorca when an engine exploded just after take-off. The Boeing 738 on a Jet2.com flight had 180 passengers on board; all landed safely and were put on another flight. The explosion was heard, seen and blogged by people on Figueretas beach. n The smoking ban came into effect in Ibiza this season, but not many clubs are taking it seriously. When we asked one worker where we could smoke he said, “Everywhere, the No Smoking signs are just for the police”.

n Cream Ibiza continues running things at Amnesia. Eddie Halliwell, Laidback Luke and more have been slaying the capacity crowds, and the Mixmag Terrace is now often mistaken for the main room.

n Richie Hawtin played back-toback with Carl Cox at Space for the first time in July. This month Mixmag’s DJ contest in Ibiza will give one lucky winner the chance to play on the very same decks. n Jay Haze was spotted papping punters at Kubicle’s pool party at Es Vive. He got everyone to pose with a small white board on which he asked people to write ‘meaningful’ messages.

n The best-looking crowd in Ibiza, hands down, is to be found at Vagabundos at Ushuaia. It’s like walking into a model casting there on Thursdays. Meanwhile, the Swedish House Mafia events there have been very popular, not least because it’s a chance to see the trio for half the cost of getting into Pacha.

n In drug news, tourists are paying €25 for Gold Leaf pills. Rumour has it they contain MDMI – a legal high worryingly said to “make your legs buckle from under you”. Red Rockstars are also popular.

Villa-lowpoint n. A slow moment in any underground house night Peerage n. The right to a period of aimless staring down into the crowd from the club balcony, however packed the venue. “Come on mate, you’ve been there all night. Surely I’m next in line for a peerage.”

Chasin’ status v. A Facebook status that declares that you are single. “Gaz, what happened? Just seen your Facebook. I really thought you and Emma were gonna get engaged! Oh well, glad to see the return of your chasin’ status – let the games begin!”
