Towards a Standardised Latin Script for Malayalam/Hindi (For ease of use in Phones and Computers – with no diacritic marks or special characters)
There exists an INDIAN SCRIPT CODE FOR INFORMATION INTERCHANGE (ISCII) which mostly helps IT professionals who use Indian languages. The ISCII uses a number of special characters to represent various characters and diacritic marks. It is difficult to use these special characters while typing on an ordinary mobile phone. Automatic capitalization of first letters in sentences must be disabled while using this script for Indian languages. Suggestions welcome. Philip P Eapen.
