Pembroke College Library Oxford Masterthesis
Due to their continuous expansion, the colleges in Oxford and Cambridge have been continuously supplemented with expansions, within the limits of their properties. The own College Library of Pembroke College for example, changed its location several times within the college, due to the steady growth of its stock of books until the 1970s, when a separate library building was built, which is outdated in terms of size and accessibility again after today. Therefore, a new design should be created in the same place, which meets the current requirements of a library, also in relation to the representative claims of Pembroke College.

Primary school Leipzig The city of Leipzig is planning a new construction of a primary school in a public park, called “Lene-Voigt-Park” in the city centre. Since the 1960s and 1970s, schools in Germany have hardly been contextually integrated into their cityscape, but have mostly been placed on the outskirts of the cities as foreign organisms. The question of how to integrate new school buildings in our cities, and how to design such buildings to perceive them as a homogeneous part of the cityscape, is an integral part of the design process.

Correos de Chile Santiago de Chile The existing building “Clasificadore de Correos de Chile” is located in a less developed neighbourhood in the centre of Santiago de Chile. In the 1960s this industrial building was built as a machinelike structure, directly serving the functional needs and work processes of a post building. The task of the project was to converse the building into a new cultural hub, for the accommodation of immigrants in Santiago de Chile. Group work with Iris Knost.

Fire station Cottbus
On a fictional plot of 45m x 16m in Cottbus, a fire station including a practice tower, is to be built. Main attention to this design was given especially on the development of building constructive details and structural design. Nevertheless, the complex processes within the fire station are also taken into account in the design of the floor plan organization. Group work with Christof Trebschuh.
