RDA Blasted By Strawberry Mansion Community Long-time residents of the Strawberry Mansion area are complaining the Redevelopment Authority is destroying the fabric of their neighborhood. They say the RDA is using emi-
nent domain to seize many occupied, non tax delinquent homes, many of them large and historic, then turning them over to the developer, Friends Rehab, who is razing them and building smaller homes.
They say the evicted homeowners and residents are not given any guarantees they can buy one of the new homes.
Santorum Campaign Names National Campaign Mgr. Former Senator Rick Santorum announced today he has elevated Mike Biundo to the role of National Campaign Manager for the Rick Santorum for President campaign. Biundo said, “I am honored Sen. not think of a more diligent and hard-working candidate for which to work for. Sen. Santorum has prioritized putting our nation back on the right track above all else and there is no one better suited to lead our nation forward.” Santorum said, “Mike’s tireless efforts, superb organizational skills and commitment to our nation make him the right choice to lead our team. Conservatives in New Hampshire know Mike for these THE PHILADELPHIA DAILY RECORD
traits and soon the nation will also learn of his great ability to organize a victorious conservative campaign. I am confident that under Mike’s guidance and oversight, our team will be such a campaign.” Prior to his elevation to National Campaign Manager, Biundo served as National Political Director for the Rick Santorum for President campaign. Previously, Biundo was the New Hampshire Advisor for Senator Santorum’s |

political action committee, America’s Foundation. Biundo has a strong track-record of working with victorious conservatives in New Hampshire, from senior leadership roles in the Pat Buchanan for President campaign in 1996 to leading both the mayoral and congressional campaigns for Congressman Frank Guinta (R-N.H.).
Tim Burns To Seek GOP Nomination For US Senate It’s now official for Tim Burns, known in many circles as a conservative businessman. He announced today, releasing this statement: “We are a nation at a crossroad,
and we truly are at a time for choosing. Our current leadership has made their choice – more spending, more debt, and they have conceded America’s exceptional place in the world. That’s why today I am announcing I am a candidate for the United States Senate. “We deserve better than a Senator who has done more to help this failed President than to help the people of Pennsylvania. Sen. Casey may be a good man, but he is not good for America and he’s not good for Pennsylvania. “I’m not a politician; I’m a businessman. I want to put my experience of balancing budgets, making payroll, and creating jobs to work for the people of Pennsylvania. I started a business in my basement

and it grew it into a company that employed more than 400 people. Sadly, that experience is lacking in government today. “Over the course of the next several months I will be traveling the Commonwealth to talk about the issues that matter most. I’m looking forward to talking about the ways in which we can put Pennsylvania and America back to work.” After growing up in a half a double house in Johnstown and graduating from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Burns decided to try his hand at starting a business and in 1992 started a pharmacy-software company. It wasn’t an instant success, as Burns started his business in his basement with little more than his savings. Through his hard work and determination, he built his company into a leader in the pharmacy-software industry, growing his business to over 400 employees before being acquired by a public company. Since then Burns has continued his involvement in expanding the economy by investing in and helping grow other businesses. Tim is also an award winning community leader, volunteering his time to help local flood victims, assisting with the Hurricane Katrina relief effort, and directing a youth camp for special needs children. He currently sits on the board of the Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America and in 2010 received the Jefferson Award for community service for his work with special needs children.

We just opened the newly expanded Convention Center, the Presidents’ House, the National Museum of American Jewish History and will soon welcome the Barnes Museum to our city.
