STUDENTS AT AUDENREID HS join their principal Terry Pearsall-Hargett to thank Kal & Lucille Rudman for their donation to school library.

by Rory G. McGlasson A couple of months ago philanthropist Kal Rudman was visiting the new Audenreid School Library as a guest of Fire Deputy Chief James Hargett. Hargett’s wife is Audenreid’s Principal Terry Pearsall-Hargett. Rudman was impressed by the new school, especially the positive attitude of the students, but he noticed something strange about the brand-new library. Rudman observed the Library had everything, new Apple Mac computers, and tables and chairs, but it lacked its main ingredient … books! Rudman spoke to the kids that day, and promised he would be back to fix that problem.

The proceeds will go to the Survivor’s Fund and will defray the costs resulting from the deaths of Philadelphia Police Officers, firefighters and correctional officers, who may loose their lives in the line of duty. When the City loses Police Officers, firefighters or other public-safety officers, the cost is more than emotional, often leaving a financial burden. This critical monetary need encountered by their surviving families after the death of a loved one, has (Cont. Page 23)
