by R. George Linton Mayor Michael Nutter has been taking the heat this week for closing at public pool in Point Breeze, but it doesn’t mean the Mayor won’t face the fire in person. Nutter spent four hours in the Point Breeze neighborhood last week talking with the community about their needs. Nutter was joined by City and State leaders such as his Redevelopment Czar Terri Gillen and State Rep. Kenyatta Johnson as they walked
“Reporting South Philadelphia the way it deserves”
through Point Breeze. Point Breeze natives whose area is riddled with gangs, drugs, crime and homicides couldn’t believe it when they spotted the Mayor in their backyard. Nutter greeted business owners as community activists pointed out problem areas and sites of hopeful development.
